  1. QUOTE(fathom @ May 16, 2007 -> 01:48 PM) Yeah, but if he gave up one run, I'd be worried that our offense couldn't overcome that total. True. We would have to get walked in by someone.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ May 16, 2007 -> 01:43 PM) Fixed Danks would dominate a minor league lineup though.
  3. Im uneasy with Danks going against the Yanks with our offense already missing beachballs.
  4. If gameday is right on, we are missing fastballs over the heart of the plate.
  5. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 16, 2007 -> 01:33 PM) Also AJ is becoming a defensive liability. mmmm, no, not really.
  6. Dye still cant solve the other team pitching him low and away.
  7. Wow, the spoilers for the finale are ridic http://spoilerslost.blogspot.com/
  8. PJ Brown was HUGE last night. His defense and offense picked us up a ton. TT makes plays that you dont see very often. It always makes me jump out of my seat. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 15, 2007 -> 06:16 PM) I actually like the Spurs, well more like I dont hate them. I cant stand the Suns and their chronic b****ing. They remind me of the Pistons with how much they seem to whine all the time. The spurs by far b**** more than any team in the NBA.
  9. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ May 15, 2007 -> 01:38 PM) Sarah Shahi...She was hot. I had to look up who she was cause I knew I saw her before. She was the chick that was blowing the cucumber in that one scene in Old School. Here's some other pics for ya http://members.fortunecity.com/noops051/sarah_shahi001.jpg http://members.fortunecity.com/noops051/sarah_shahi002.jpg http://members.fortunecity.com/noops051/sarah_shahi003.jpg EVERYONE has seen her before in this pic
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ May 15, 2007 -> 04:17 PM) Ha, come on now. Their talent blows away teams like the Royals, Tampa, Baltimore, etc. They have two of the best hitters in all of baseball in Soriano and Lee, they have a good hitting catcher, a very good hitting 3rd baseman, a terrific bench, and some solid to good starting pitchers. Totally disagree. The only good player they have is Lee. Soriano was passable in the AL, their strating pitching is mediocre at best, their catcher is one of the worst defensive cathers in the league, and their bench is atrocious. They also happen to have a horrendous bullpen. They would go head to head with tampa if they were in the AL east. QUOTE(fathom @ May 15, 2007 -> 05:18 PM) Last year he was damn good, and even though he started off slowly this year, he's going to be a monster at that park when the wind is blowing out. I used to think he was one of the most overrated hitters in baseball, but last year was very impressive. Last year (NL). In the AL he is nothing more than an average to good player. His BA has hovered around .268-.300 and his OPS .736 to .879 That is nowhere close to one of the best hitters in baseball. Dont let the NL stats fool you, especially with the competition in the NL central.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ May 14, 2007 -> 11:20 PM) Cubs have more talent than the Sox this year....of course, that's what happens when you spend 300 million in an offseason. ugh, the cubs would be the worst team in the AL hands down.
  12. cubs, and there should be no other answer.
  13. QUOTE(joeynach @ May 14, 2007 -> 06:44 PM) Yeah it sounds great but isn't it like $300 per person. I dont really think thats a realistic scenario for most of us to consider when attending a sox game. I make good money and support only myself and I got no problem paying like $60-$80 to get a good seat to a good game, but $300+ is a little extreme. Seems of more of like a b-day, graduation, fathers day present thing. 250. It is pricey, dont get me wrong, we like to do something like this once a year. A special ocasion would be perfect.
  14. Honestly, I think Pablo could be a starting 2B.
  15. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 14, 2007 -> 05:32 PM) Agree completely, I'd just let her know she's not getting it all, only a set amount when I pass on. Pre-nup her to a couple of mil, or whatever. Small price to pay for 22 year old ass.
  16. QUOTE(Balance @ May 14, 2007 -> 05:01 PM) I'm not sure that question was directly answered. It looks like drinks are free. Is the buffet free as well? I might be able to eat enough to make the price of the ticket worthwhile.... Edit- I guess the best way to phrase my question is, "what do you get for free in the Jim Beam Club?" Everything you want, buffet, food in the seats, mixed drinks, shots, beers. Whatever you want. You also have a private souvenir shop. Its worth the price of the ticket.
  17. You know what? If im that age and im alone and rich, I dont give a s*** if a young hot piece of tail wants to marry me or even just f me for the money. I take what I can get at that point, and if its top shelf ass, so be it.
  18. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ May 14, 2007 -> 03:35 PM) Ok, thanks that helps alot. Sounds like Jim Beam Club is the way to go for VIP White Sox baseball experience. So just to get this straight, both scout seats and JB club have the buffet and drinks included?? How long was the bar open?? The proximity to the seats sounds like the best bonus the club has to offer. I've had the Levy buffet before at the Stadium Club, and that was top notch. I'm sure these cluibs have much more extensive selections though. The free booze cuts off in the 8th. With that in mind I was the first person into the club, and we were 6-7 beers deep at first pitch no problem. They also serve top notch liquor for free like Belvedere, saphire etc. You can basically get whatever you want no problem. The buffet was very good. I also chose to order a hot dog and a brat in my seat, and they were both awesome as well. You also get a VIP parking pass with your tickets, and i literally parked 50 feet from gate 4.
  19. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ May 14, 2007 -> 02:46 PM) Thanks for the review Rock, it defintiely sounds like a worth while experience. I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for when Jason might have some other games go up for sale in the future. So compared to the Scout Seats, basically the same as far as service/bar/food?? I've never been to either, and am kinda of undecided as to what to do first. It seems like the Scout Seats (with being right behind home plate) would be better, becuase theyre closer...but obviously I know Jim Beam Club is where the press box used to be and I'm sure the view from there is incredible as well. If you had to choose.....??? When i sat in the scout seats in 05 the food was different as far as the buffet goes. The entire catering service is Levy Restaurants, which is a pretty good company. I assume the buffet foods are the same, and I know for a fact the in seat food is the same except they didnt have peanuts (which I ALWAYS NEED). If I had to choose I would probably go for the Jim Beam club. The scout seats are closer and its neat to sit there because you know that everyone around you is jealous (and you are), but the angle and the netting isnt as good as Jim Beam. Also you have to walk roughly 50-100 feet to get into the bar, bathroom, etc etc. The Beam club is right behind your seats, the bathrooms are immaculate and its just an overall nice place. I hope to get back there soon for sure. Quick edit: Jim Beam club is alot like you going to a game in the most premium of skyboxes, without having to buy it for the season, or bring 15 of your friends.
  20. QUOTE(Pods70Rowand33 @ May 14, 2007 -> 02:19 PM) When you're looking for the tickets on the ticket exchange, what section would it be under. I saw some that say Home, but I wasn't sure if that was considered Scout or not. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showforum=42
  21. hash bars in vancouver
  22. QUOTE(Y2HH @ May 14, 2007 -> 01:40 PM) I've retired from playing WoW. BC destroyed the game. Im also somewhat finsihed. I got my char up almost to 50, and I lost interest in the quests and I know nothing about the dungeons.
  23. QUOTE(Y2HH @ May 14, 2007 -> 01:34 PM) How does one go about aquiring tickets to this Jim Beam club? I'd like to buy some for an upcoming game to check it out... In the ticket exchange, Jason is selling two excellent tickets to games. I believe he has some left. It was really worth it as it was some of the most fun I have ever had at a sox game.
  24. QUOTE(fathom @ May 14, 2007 -> 12:44 PM) How does this have anything to do with any language barrier? He flat out said that Uribe doesn't make for a good #2 hitter because he strikes out too much. I don't see how that can be misinterpreted in any language. I can honestly say that I didn't read that article in order to find something to criticize Ozzie about. He's not even at the top of my Sox s*** list right now. I was just shocked at what I was reading. He was trying to say uribe is too much of a free swinger to bat #2, a concept that most everyone on this site will agree with. Of course its also a way for people to get in low blows on our manager as well.
