QUOTE(retro1983hat @ May 14, 2007 -> 09:15 AM) But Uribe needs to take pitches to give the leadoff hitter a chance to steal second. His Tazmanian Devil swing is not conducive to the 2 hole. So you agree with Ozzie? I guess you are an idiot too.

Probably one of the best episodes in years IMO. The deaths, the girls, the plot, Im loving it.

well he said he strikes out a lot, never did he make a player comparison. I would like to hear your reasoning with the data from the last 2 years on why Uribe would be a better 2 hole hitter than Iguchi has been. If that wasnt your point, then you might want to find another avenue to express your displeasure in the team taking 3 straight series. Here is the quote for those who didnt read it. Doesnt seem like a comment that would make me think he is an idiot, in fact he shares the opinion of most fans on this site regarding uribe's approach at the plate for a majority of the time. Since he agrees with us, wouldnt that make US the idiots? But Guillen doesn't expect Uribe to stay in the No. 2 hole. "I don't think he's a second hitter," Guillen said. "[saturday] he impressed me more because he took pitches and was patient. I don't know how long that patience will last. This kid strikes out a lot."

QUOTE(BearSox @ May 12, 2007 -> 09:45 PM) Also, Ryan Sweeney rocks your world. Sweeney: .276 .364 4 walks 3 k's How many pitches per at bat does this kid see? Its unreal that he is already that developed in the judgement dept. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 12, 2007 -> 10:44 PM) If Thome can come back strong,(HUGE question mark at this time) and just 1 of Kong-Dye-Crede get really hot, its a whole new team. The pitching has been outstanding, and if it does stay like this, missing the playoffs would be a huge disappointment. As it stands, this team IMO should have 22, 23 wins. It's stunning how the Sox are 3 games above .500, and the combo of Kong-Dye-Crede are batting a combined .202. Thome isnt going to be back for awhile, his swings were called "tentative"

So, thanks to jason i snagged a pair of his tickets to the Jim Beam club last night. From my experience this was about as good as it gets at a Sox Game. My friend and I were the first ones in the area, and were treated with great hospitality from the get go. Terrence the bartender was a delight and always kept a frosty brew in my hand. The club itself is amazing, great set up and a brilliant idea. The buffet is nothing short of top notch. I had prime rib, lamb, and 4 cheese mashed potatoes. I also sampled the food in the seats as well, and its the same menu as the scout seats. I found that the Jim Beam club was a little bit better than the scout seats for a couple of reasons. I liked that the bar/food area was only about 5 feet from our seats. The view from the seats is probably one of the best in the ballpark as the angle and the distance from the field is close to ideal. The club area itself is extremely nice, clean and very very useful. Several people stopped down in the club before the game as well, Hawk, Minnie, DJ. I also sat next to and got a picture of Alex Brown from the bears. He was up there watching the game with his wife and son. The overall game experience could not have been better, topped off with the bartender holding a couple of free rounds for us in the bar after the free booze had been cut off. The workers up there were all extremely nice and courteous and the managers made it a point to come by and have conversations with us throughout the game. Overall I am excited to hopefully get back up there as it was worth every penny to me. I fully recommened the experience, and I hope to get back there soon.

We have it available at work. IN fact our quarterly meetings are held at all of our locations and we all drink in the office at about 3pm. Some fridays we start drinking with lunch.
-
The thing is that he didnt get wasted in the clubhouse, he went out to a bar and got drunk before he decided to hit the road on his cellphone while smoking weed.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ May 11, 2007 -> 12:13 PM) Ummmm, if I walk over to the fridge here at work...not 15 feet from where I am sitting...there is beer in there. Some of the guys, on fridays, will stay after work for a few to have a beer. It's cheaper than driving to a bar, as many people do. I bet of you go into the fridges at a bunch of companies, you might just find a brew or two in there. Yup. We just had beer with our lunch today.

I thought this would be a decent forum to discuss this issue. Because of the recent death on the Cards, many teams are imposing an alcohol ban in the clubhouse. The White Sox are not one of these teams. What are your thoughts on the issue? My personal opinion is that these are men, and taking away alcohol as a means to make them more responsible is downright ridiculous. These guys are old enough to make good decisions. If not, they wouldnt have made a good decision at the bar or at home either. I feel like some of these teams are trying to babysit.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 10, 2007 -> 08:09 PM) Almost exactly like a volleyball swing, but just a bit more one o'clock. Plenty of shoulder injuries will still occur, but they would be far less frequent. There will be effects long term though. I've played volleyball pretty much all my life(note: not simple backyard volleyball., but at the highest national level) and already at 17 I have permanent shoulder pain and probably won't be able to lift my arm above my neck in a few years. His mechanics are almost identical to the "bow an arrow" volleyball swing, but like I already said, just abit more tilted to the right. Honestly I think if you were to come straight over the top with your arm, it would be more effective in preventing injuries, though I'm not sure how it would effect the pitching. Hey a fellow v-ball guy. I played at that level when I was your age too, you play club around the area? JO's was always the best time when I was in high school, I miss those days. To expand on your concept, I was a setter/weak side hitter depending on which team I was playing for, and my shoulder injuries continue today because of the swings I took back then. BTW, elbow torque is still the same, which is where alot of injuries happen today anyway.

QUOTE(zimne piwo @ May 10, 2007 -> 10:54 PM) Don't have one, have no desire to have one. I have a cell phone but I don't use it all that often, only when I really need it. Seriously there's NO ONE I want to talk to THAT BAD that would have me constantly yakking away on my cell phone (especially at airports or other public places). Its illegal in chicago to talk on your cell phone without one. Hence why lots of people have them. I travel for business and its neccessary, in my new car I have speaker phone with bluetooth which makes my life so much easier when im on the road.

QUOTE(Wanne @ May 10, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) How bout Gooch sits once in a while and Pablo plays second. Geez-us...between Gooch and Cintron....it's brutal watching those ABs anymore. I actually think that Pablo is better than Gooch at this point. His dp's have looked better, he is looking like a better #2 hitter and actually can steal a base. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 10, 2007 -> 11:55 PM) I am going to buy one of 3 jerseys. A. Burls is he resigns b. Danks C. Sweeney love em all Finally the sox have young talented players from our system. At the stadium they have massett jerseys but no Danks at this point. -

I love Scott Skiles, but this loss was all on him. He didnt sub at all in the 2nd half, which just so happens to be the half we lost the ballgame. Thabo and TT should have at least seen the floor sometime in the 4th quarter. -
QUOTE(longshot7 @ May 10, 2007 -> 02:06 PM) Stupid. Shouldn't he OWN dei? by now, yes. That was his father's master plan, too bad his mother is a money grubbing biatch.

BMAC will be a good pitcher still, but we made the trade because obviously it was in our favor. It should have paid off next year, but xmas came a little early with Danks.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 10, 2007 -> 02:49 PM) And Erstad's growing on me. He'd be the perfect 4th OFer, and I still don't want him starting, but he's the team's best option right now, and he appears to be playing with a bit of a chip on his shoulder. Hopefully he keeps producing like he has been, and if he does, I hope he stays healthy. Hes one of the top producing leadoff hitters in the AL right now. Im not sure that says "4th OF'er" to anyone. Batting leadoff: .328 .375 5 BB 4k 67 at bats.

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 10, 2007 -> 01:25 PM) Warren Newson? nah, ill find it. I just looked at the 1995 roster, I forgot we had Chris Sabo on that team.

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ May 10, 2007 -> 01:21 PM) Singleton was saying AJ was directing him as he was coming home. What was he doing. Just telling him where the ball was, basic baseball.
-
QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ May 10, 2007 -> 01:18 PM) me too!! Was he safe? Yeah, he got his leg in before the tag. Pretty awesome slide.

f***, Walker is talking to Sweeney, what do you think he is saying? "Ryan, nice at bat and all, but if you clear your hips and lift and pull you will hit that one nicely to the RF'er"

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ May 10, 2007 -> 01:17 PM) Are there actually fans there? On the radio it sounds like the place is going nuts. its quiet on tv
