  1. QUOTE(shoota @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 05:00 PM) Just because 4/5 of the starting pitching was the same in 2006 as it was in 2005, doesn't mean each pitcher would perform equally in both seasons. Guillen deserves fault for not adjusting his use of the 2006 staff. And how would you have liked his treatment to be adjusted.
  2. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 05:17 PM) And he deserves every ounce of that hate. Don't get me started on that fool. Please get started. There arent many gm's out there in any sport that has brought 6 championships to a city. So please continue.
  3. I sense Ginn jumping as well. If Gonzo goes, the other two very well may too.
  4. QUOTE(G&T @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 04:20 PM) I don't have any respect for Murph's opinion, but he is about the only show that talks baseball this time of year. That said, he did talk to a minor league analyst from BP and his opinions were: a. That Haeger should be the fifth starter. b. Even if Floyd wins the fifth spot, he's nothing more that a place holder (barring a Coop miracle). c. Danks is a top 5 or 10 lefty prospect. Not a top 2 like KW says. (everyone knew that I guess) He had some other things to say that I can't remember particularly, but I was most surprised by the Haeger comment. I know some people here like him, but this guy liked him a lot. What was his opinion on Marquis and Lilly then?
  5. QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 02:44 PM) Tell me something thats dumber than trading for Neal Cotts, signing Ted Lilly and Jason Marquis? Paying a guy 22 million when he is 39.
  6. People who think that about our payroll havent done their homework.
  7. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 12:08 PM) Doesn't Dubai have an indoor ski hill? yup, and it was awesome to see being built.
  8. QUOTE(Tmar @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 11:31 AM) Lisa Dergen Podsednik seriously?
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 11:27 AM) Yup. Boone would come in and dominate. Seriously people, am I the only one here who's ever seen a player, especially a pitcher, and especially a relief pitcher with tricky stuff, come up, be a bit scared to throw strikes at first and get in trouble, but then learn the ropes better and suddenly become a much tougher opponent? I have zero confidence in Boone, I dont like his mechanics for some reason. I think Sisco has shown, espcially in 2005 that he can be a force out of the pen.
  10. Great point Balta. We have a couple fo good picks in the next draft as well, so that should only add to the talent level.
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 11:13 AM) I heard a Jordan=Durant, Oden=Olajuwon comparison from the 84 draft the other day... It will be interesting to see how that plays out. Oden reminds me of Ewing when he was his age.
  12. Drew Barrymore, she looks like she has down syndrome.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 10:55 AM) The thing looks neat, but the way I see it. Phones are to be used as phones. I'll give it text messaging - but that's it! did you see the selective voicemail feature?

When you are taking about a gen 1 anything, be it apple, IBM, dell, even software there are always issues and I believe the one he talks about what a significant problem with some of the gen 1 ipods, and has since been fixed and is now considered a very old and forgotten problem for the most part. Apple's new design with the static flash drive is much more advanced and should replace any moving and failing parts.
  15. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 10:14 AM) Oden is also playing almost exclusively with his off(left) hand for FTs and shots still as far as I know; but it is easy to see why Durant would be the #1 pick if Oden doesn't leave this year Yeah, but he really hasnt developed the back to the basket moves, and cant really take anyone off of a dribble yet. I think Oden is coming back for sure, they say he loves college and his teammates and Matta.
  16. QUOTE(TLAK @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 07:42 AM) Just for discussion. In a tight game in the 6th or 7th who do you bring in to face Morneau and Mauer or Hafner and Martinez? You need MacDougal, Thornton and Jenks to finish out the game, who do you use to get to them? Sisco.
  17. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 10, 2007 -> 11:58 PM) Deng is without question an All-Star, but he hasn't been there late in ballgames certain times this season. I love Deng, and IMO is far from the Bulls problems. And here is why: Check out who takes a majority of the shots late in the game, its Ben Gordon. He not only takes the shots, but spend alot of the time dribbling to create the shot. I really think the ball needs to go through Deng on the wing, let him drive, shoot, or kick to the guards.
  18. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 04:48 AM) Kevin Durant > anyone not named Oden in college basketball Offensively, he is far more skilled than Oden IMO.

QUOTE(BobDylan @ Jan 11, 2007 -> 03:11 AM) Then I retract my statement and apologize. The reason I'd prefer a flashcard is because it's removeable for idiots, it's upgradeable and as the size on them keeps growing, 4-8 gigs is not far away. There are plenty of features on this phone that look great, but for the price, I'll stick with my cheaper, "stoopid" phone. You must be skilled with a knife, as the cases aren't meant to be popped open. What exactly needs to be moved etc from one device to the other that a flash card is necessary? Its actually a much less of a technology than what we have here. ALso there is no hard drive once again, so he wont be cracking open any cases. In fact IPODS most likely will never have a moving hard drive again soon. DId you watch the video yet?
  20. Its like when your parents caught you with something when you were a kid and immediately you blamed it on a friend of yours.
  21. wow, amazing. I wonder what their sample size looks like.
  22. Rotation is one thing, but I think the indians bullpen is puke-worthy which will hurt their rotation in the long run. Minny has the best closer in the division which is a huge advantage for them. They also have several good guys in the pen. I would say overall, its pretty close, and should be a good thing to watch going into the season.
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 10, 2007 -> 09:16 PM) I wouldn't care if they were a bad team. But for a while I thought they had the players and talent to hang with any team. I still believe that, but I'm starting to think they might be one impact player short. They just don't have the finishers on the club right now, and they still haven't figured out that you need to win on the road every so often. I feel very strongly that Luol Deng is the guy. He could be a Carmelo type player for us IMO.
