QUOTE(DePloderer @ May 15, 2006 -> 02:00 PM) Yep, is that the kind of stuff I can look forward to? Is that the kind of fine dining I've been reading about in all the travel guides? Oh yeah, 5 stars in my book. Put a slice of cheesy deep dish pizza in there, and its a chicago buffet.

QUOTE(DePloderer @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:53 PM) I've been at work all day, made one good sale, watching the game with a beer or two. My daughters making us all French toast while she's watching ( of all things ) a re run of Due South. So that's what Chicago looks like. French toast huh? Weird.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:50 PM) This may be one of those places I have to visit next time I'm in Chicago. Never been and I'm sick of reading about how good it is without having tried it. Someone needs to fly mail me some You can order it online. Its pretty good, but if its Italian beef you are after, Al's on taylor st is much better.

QUOTE(SnB @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:45 PM) didn't all of those go out of business a few years ago? Nah, they flourish in downtown chicago. I have been meaning to try it again, but its really hard.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:43 PM) Crap, if BA had homered that and made it 8-2, we might have been able to start getting some Yaz stories from the 1967 Red Sox outta Hawk. Damn you BA. ^^^^^^^^ My productive work day: Sox game, order from peapod, nap.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) Scott Eyre and Bobby Howry can both die, assholes. I hope we light them both up this weekend. Seriously, both have been complete cocky assholes since joining the cubs.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:28 PM) And soon enough you guys will have it like it is out here in Cali, where the only times you smell smoke is the ocassional time you pass by someone on the street smoking (and they are starting to make rumblings out here of pretty much putting an end to that; although I don't know how much that will fly). Personally I think its one of the best things ever cause I can go places and not have my clothes stink of smoke. But back to the Sox game...lets score some more runs. I agree. I smoked for around 8 years. But now the smell is extremely annoying to me. I hate having to dry clean everything just because someone else was smoking. I like the direction we are going to curb the usage. Not to mention a pack of smokes is around 8-9 dollars.

Did all the build up from planning this thread pan out for you? -
QUOTE(DePloderer @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:25 PM) thanks, I'm not a smoker myself so it won't bother me. It's just interesting that over here you'll never see anyone with a beer in their hand while watching a game, but they will be smoking up a storm. Yeah, most parks dont allow smoking in your seat. And in chicago, now you can only smoke indoors if you are less than 15 feet from the bar. You also have to keep 15 feet from the openings of buildings, so basically smokers are relegated to smoking in dirty alleys.

Anyone see the cubs game yesterday? I was watching it with my father who is a cubs fan, and A-ram misplayed a hot shot, and it went into the outfield for a run. First thing he said was, Crede woulda had that.

Freddy has found a slow curve today that I havent seen him throw in awhile. I like it.

QUOTE(DePloderer @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:22 PM) I just noticed that I've never seen anybody in the crowd smoking. Is it banned in the ballparks or are baseball fans just healthy, clean living type people? There is usually a dedicated smoking area. You can never smoke in the seats. IN fact, chicago is on its way to outlaw smoking all together, thank god.
