  1. Seriously, how long does the pain last from a flu shot. f***
  2. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 10:13 PM) I like Xoco, but the Atomica is probably the best fast food item I've ever had. Admittedly I didn't try the milanesa at Xoco. If it makes you feel any better, I always went to the HP location on North Ave. Never been to the West Loop one, though that's more out of laziness than anything (it's slightly more than a mile from work, a little farther than I want to walk for lunch considering I also have to walk back). Yep, I refuse to go to the west loop location. The original is still the best.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 09:36 AM) What did we get for Santos, Jenks, Humber, Crain, Floyd and Danks? Oh, that's right, pretty much nothing. I dont get it, are you just listing guys who are out of baseball?
  4. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 11:03 AM) Well to me a scoreboard screen is vital to be able to see replays to really understand the ref calls or to see the minute details that you can't visibly see from your seat. Not having that I almost felt lost at times, especially because in that game there were like 6 plays reviewed by the refs, it was crazy how many of those occurred and not being able to see it yourself. And Rock, that's exactly how I described it to my friend, it's definitely a Wrigley type atmosphere but with fans that pay attention. Less tourists because the fans hold onto the tickets with a death grip, but very much a living museum type feel, which is weird but its not nearly the oldest stadium I've been to. Ohio Stadium (the horseshoe) is 8 years older, but you wouldn't know that if you stepped foot in both. I guess ND just didnt change it much over the years.
  5. Sale and Sirotka in the same breath. Now Ive seen it all.
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 08:26 AM) Caulfield is trading Baez and Soler straight up for Sale, they will be fine I was thinking Schwarber for Q
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 06:37 AM) http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-leag...-051931204.html Cubs end their season on a classy note...of course, it wouldn't have gotten a mention had the White Sox done the exact same thing Too bad the fans were mostly gone by then. The Cubs need to flip someone for pitching. If you cannot take advantage of the wind blowing out at Wrigley with a lineup of strikeout or homer guys you may want to bolster that weak rotation. Hammel and Hendricks are not guys you want starting in the playoffs.
  8. I think the article got this backwards, the Sox have no plans to re-sign him.
  9. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 07:00 PM) Xoco is legit and definitely a better choice in terms of price/crowds. Not sure I can agree with the second part though... Cemitas Puebla used to be the sleeper of all sleepers, now there is one in Fulton Market that is 3 dollars more per sandwich.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 09:38 AM) If the mid 90s Indians with Thome, Vizquel, the Alomars, Belle, Lofton, Manny, Colon, didn't win a title, there is no reason to think the Cubs are virtually guaranteed one. We still don't know how all these guys will pan out. There could be slumps, injuries etc. A lot of things went the 2015 Cubs way. That doesn't happen every season. It is easy to assume these guys are young and only going to get better, but that doesn't always play out. There are aot of similarities between the two teams to be honest. I was just talking about this last night. Its hard to win a title, even with stacked teams. Most recently the Tigers should have won one, but they couldnt. The Mets actually look alot like the Braves team of that era where they were STACKED with pitching. The Cubs have to trade someone for an arm at some point, Schwarber should be on the block before his value goes down. You cannot play a catcher in the OF in the NL.
  11. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 10:03 PM) You send your daughter through Armour Square at night and see how that goes. No Mets fans are getting murdered tonight. Significantly more crime in wrigleyville.
  12. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 02:59 PM) The actual view/sightlines were great, but pretty much everything else was disappointing. I would rank the field view right up there with anyone else but scoreboard, amenities, bathrooms, etc were about as bad as I've seen. So its the Wrigley Field of college football stadiums. Seems about right.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 11:55 AM) The other thing I don't understand about it is it really isn't very big, but every time we go in there, despite the hype, we get seated right away. A salad to split, a couple of pies and Schlitz is how I go. I havent been back since I moved and apparently its gotten more popular but I agree. I think I waited once or twice in many many years. They turn the tables over quickly and still you dont feel rushed. Love that place. Now I want it.
  14. Better to happen now than later. Lets the new guys develop a bit.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 11:47 AM) My problem with a lot of these places is they are so scared of burning the crust, it winds up undercooked. Coalfire isn't afraid to cook the crust. You see them throwing out pies they overcooked all the time, but they won't undercook them. They always give me a perfect pie, its just amazing. I like to order the caesar salad, 2 pies (one for each of us) and a bottle of wine and its a glorious dinner.
  16. I hate having a night game, I like waking up and seeing football asap.
  17. Please no, dont ever list cheesecake factory in a restaurnat recommendation list. Melnicks is a good reco, bar food, good beer, open all day. If you want a bite before your tour or in the morning, I fully recommend going to Do-Rite donuts. They are the best in the world and their chicken sandwiches are also on point. Its just outstanding.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 06:04 PM) Coalfire is my favorite. Pizzeria Da Nella on Fullerton can be really good. Coalfire is A1, no contest. Forno Rossa is pretty good too.
  19. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 09:09 PM) Having seen both teams in person, Iowa and TCU don't even compare. I can buy most of the rest of it. Haven't seen enough of Okie State to tell. Josh Doctson is impressive as hell iowa actually plays defense?
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 08:23 PM) If that's true, I agree. Reports I saw said he didn't though. If the report had Greg Henson involved I wouldnt believe a word. I know I saw Dantonio and the coaching staff with the kid as they waited for the cart. I assume he went right over there.
  21. QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 04:05 PM) Wahh wahh, he wouldn't shake my coach's hand. Look, it's not the classiest thing to do on his part, but don't act like it makes a difference. We make too big of a deal of these handshake snub things. It's not relevant Technically Dantonio ran to his injured players side instead of shaking Harbaughs hand, I dont fault him for that.
  22. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 03:03 PM) They had interns firing people? Well they may be in line for worst company in America. I "participated" while my supervisor watched next to me. It was terrible. Hourly workers with huge families. And the factory doesnt exist anymore as the company was purchased.
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 19, 2015 -> 10:40 AM) I've been managing people for 15+ years. Dozens, maybe close to a hundred total over time at multiple companies. I've had to fire or lay off a handful... and it was never, ever fun, even if they were clearly underperforming and needed to go. I have a hard time imagining a scenario where it would feel good. My first internship was at a local factory and I had to fire several workers for different reasons and it was literally so horrible I didnt go into that line of work.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 18, 2015 -> 03:58 PM) I guess we saw the bad John fox there today. Amazing coaches paid to know how things like "a clock" works can be so much worse than casual watchers. I'd be angry but the job he's done with this no talent squad is damn good.
  25. Think the refs want out of there? Blatant holding right in front of the ref on the deciding play of the game.
