QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 05:27 PM) Kitchen sinks are often on outer edges of the house and divided from the rest of the house by cabinet doors that keep ambient heat out, so they are often the most likely to freeze. It's in our edition and definitely on the outside of the house. Weird it was just the hot water though.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 06:39 PM) Apparently draft projections average out to Vonleh being picked 8-12. He's damn talented and will only get better. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 08:16 PM) Picked up a Jambox Mini yesterday. It is incredible. Now you'll want the regular and the big. It seems I am collecting bluetooth speakers.

Also one of those days that a remote starter makes you a f***ing rock star.

QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 02:17 PM) Hell yeah Rock, ya do what you must especially with the winters Michigan gets. We also used to pour hot water on the engine block when in the UP. Not sure it did anything. My hot water in my kitchen froze today but thats the only water that isnt working. Really weird.

QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 01:42 PM) OK cool, sounds like you have it under control. Could always pull the battery out and warm it up indoors for a while and try again later. That's what we used to do in michigan when our cars sat outside for days.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 01:20 PM) Fwiw, it might be worthwhile to get one of those jump starter booster packs. That way you don’t have to rely on someone else to jump your car. Amazon sells them at an affordable cost and it's saved me a few times.

Your battery probably isn't rated to be this cold.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 11:29 AM) Is there any advantage to going out and starting my car periodically today? I honestly can't seem to find anything about that on the great interwebs, so I assume it's rubbish. Then I found this: If the car starts in the morning after cold-soaking all night, it certainly should start after 8 hours parked in the office parking lot. If you've got a garage baby that won't start after a day out-of-doors and needs to be started every 4 hours, maybe it's time to change the plugs and get it running right. If you start a cold engine and idle it for 10 minutes every day, you stand the chance of diluting the oil with unburned fuel that never gets a chance to burn off. That could cause premature engine wear--not to mention needlessly burning up some expensive gasoline. Its all about the battery. Most are not able to work in extreme cold temps.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 10:34 AM) I thought he had fallen into the 14-20 range. If that's the case, and with a presumably weaker draft class the following year, I could see him staying. But top 10? He should go. Its clear to me how talented he is, and I think his production kicks into high gear near the end of the season which will keep him up there. -

QUOTE (Boogua @ Jan 5, 2014 -> 04:03 PM) Yeah, UI is in on Bragg too. I also think he ends up UK. I think we are more in on Kennard, but Bragg is at the top of everyone's list. -
QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 5, 2014 -> 11:54 PM) It's far from exciting at this point now that it's what, year 9 of it? It was stupid to begin with, and it's even more stupid now. And it's more stupid that wins playing real hockey are worth the same as wins in a skills competition. Stupid, all of it. well its just about over is it?

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 10:22 AM) Hah, I started it today as well. Day 1 is in the books! Felt good. Nice pretty excited. If I didnt fall down the stairs 2 weeks ago I am sure I would have started by now. I did a few test runs on the warrior etc, I like the nonstop pace.

After a small play around period and a back injury today starts Day 1 of P90X3. Pretty excited to see what a week of this does to me.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 09:18 AM) http://carletonnow.carleton.ca/february-20...y-cold-weather/ Good info. Surprisingly my 130 year old house hasnt made that many noises.....yet.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 09:31 AM) We are in a snow emergency here. Up to $2500 fines for being on the road if you aren't essential personnel. Also the entire South Shore train line is shutdown from South Bend to Chicago. I've got about three feet of snow drifted up against my backdoor, and now it is -10 degrees outside. Gotta love winter in NWI Indiana. Thank god for telecommuting. We checked the cam's in SW Mich at our place, easily 3 feet of snow. Lake effect FTW!

QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 5, 2014 -> 11:01 PM) The way Vonleh has lost a little bit of the hype he was getting early in the year, I wouldn't be surprised if he stays a second year. Wouldn't be surprised either way. He is still projected as a top 10 pick, if it stays that way he is gone. -
We are a bad shootout team.

QUOTE (Spod=Ratings @ Jan 5, 2014 -> 06:55 PM) It's sad Bears fans only postseason excitement is rooting against packers. Seems like a very Cub thing to do... What's next a "stay classy" post? Lol.

Maybe Thad will let Crean borrow Bragg for a game or two? ;) -
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 5, 2014 -> 03:08 PM) Chiefs, because Bengals fans live close enough to Indy to be bandwagon Colts fans. Eh. You won't find too many Colts fans in southern Ohio. Bengals fans suck in general anyway.
