QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 12:27 PM) I havent seen any of the season 2 episodes yet, what one? Should have been one whole. And I cant ruin it for you. Both epis have been solid.

I say sit Toews for the rest of the season, no need to f*** up his career potentially. Let him rest. This team doesnt have a great shot of contending for the cup IMO.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 12:13 PM) Cue the Cowley attack job on a member of the White Sox in 3...2... I tweeted to him a couple of times today. I fully expect this to be blamed on KW at some point.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 10:40 AM) Oh you're KIDDING me that Scott Drew illegally contacted recruits hundreds of times. He basically did a Kelvin Sampson and so did their womens coach. They also paid scouts, convinced AAU coaches to lie to the NCAA among other infractions. FTM comes with a pretty harsh penalty at times, definitely scholarship reductions and MAYBE vacating wins. -
So happy this asshat isnt our manager anymore. There is no reason for someone like that to represent your city and organization the way he does.

Game of thrones basically ignored one who story line and it was still awesome.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 08:24 PM) I've barely seen any of them play. The Hoosiers look more explosive from that extremely limited sampling, but the OSU guys have a much clearer path to major minutes since there are two starting spots open. One thing is for sure, the conference is going to be f***ing torture the next few years, I hope it doesnt hurt our seeds in the dance. Once again holding serve at home and hopefully taking a few on the road is going to be how you win a conf championship. I was ready to concede next year's but with Thomas back we have a chance. IU, MSU, OSU, WI, UM and maybe even PU if their freshman are as good as advertised are all going to be very dangerous next year. And the similarities between OSU football fans and IU bball fans are very funny sometimes. -

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 07:24 PM) As for the Buckeyes, as I kind of said, who knows. Sullinger and Buford are both huge losses. Thomas can definitely score and Craft is solid. Smith looks like he should be pretty decent taking on a bigger role. After that, it's a lot of guys that haven't played much or didn't make a huge impact. At least Dawson and Payne have some experience, we have seen very little from guys like Williams, Ross, Thompson and Scott. If one of them becomes a stud, fine. All I'm saying is you have no clue what you're going to get outside of those first 3 guys and they need at least one to be pretty solid to be anywhere near what they did the last couple of years. Ok. Who do you expect more out of, Perea and Farrell, or Williams and Scott next season? -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 03:41 PM) Davis is going to be a 4 if not a 3 on occasion in the NBA. I don't see him being a 5 at all. He'll get killed guarding big guys who have about 50-75 lbs on him. He'll put on the weight. He has alot of room to grow and get bigger.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) So if he were to develop things like a better post game and midrange game, it wouldn't be unprecedented, but that's the level of step he needs to take to make himself an all-star, and that's a multi-year process. He's still raw in that facet because he's been this tall for 2 years. I think he becomes a VERY reliable outside shooter and gets even more dangerous as a shot blocker and evolves into a KG clone. His shot is already pretty good form-wise.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 12:25 PM) Where was KG when he was the same age though? His first year in the league, the year you'd compare to Davis currently, KG put up 10.4 ppg and 6.3 rpg. I can't imagine he came into the league as an 18 year old with a very developed post game or that very consistent jumper you cite. Davis is very similar to how KG was in HS. Great leaper, shot blocker, dunker with a pretty good shot with no real consistency. We all have to remember he was a small guard about 2 years ago and only now has started to get ahold on life in the paint.

I see Sully becoming primarily a pick and pop jump shooter than occasionally posts up other 4's that arent shot blockers in the NBA. The guy has a great outside shot and zero hops. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 12:43 PM) I said imo hell be drafted before Sullinger. The reason he would be drafted before Sullinger would be based on pro-projections. Its my opinion based on watching them play, I dont see 40+ OSU games, but I probably catch at least 5-6 a season. I could be right, I could be wrong, but its my perception of them, and I doubt Im the only person who may believe that, right or wrong. You are entitled to your opinion. Keep in mind Thomas is an NBA 3, with limited ball handling skills no right hand and zero defense. IMO he is a D-league guy possibly with being mostly on the bench if not at least initially if he jumped right now. The guy behind him at OSU is tremendously skilled so I hope he stays, but if not, I cant wait to see LaQuinton Ross develop. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 01:14 PM) I dont think quoting Sullinger's press accolades will change my opinion that Thomas may be the better pro. I just have concerns about Sullinger's game translating to the pros. That wasn't what you said, you said he would be drafted before Sully. And if you think he's a tweener, Thomas is moreso. He's a relatively unathletic 3 who doesn't have an off hand and plays zero D. -
Davis could be Kevin Garnett

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 08:38 AM) Rock what's the feeling on Thomas declaring? Any chance of that? Yes 50/50. He is a new father and actually wanted to jump last year. It probably depends if he can be convinced that he will be lottery next season. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 4, 2012 -> 11:43 AM) I have to believe Thomas is declaring, imo he gets drafted before Sullinger. It's your opinion but it's wrong. Thomas may declare but he doesn't have a first round grade and some are saying he may not get drafted at all. Sully is a 2 time all-American. -

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 08:32 PM) He has MSU way too high in my opinion. Green was as important to his team as any player I can think of. There's are several highly regarded recruits there, but not a lot of proven production. I think they MIGHT be good if guys like Appling, Dawson and Payne progress and Harris is a stud right away, but that's not exactly a given. top-10 is a stretch for me. Indiana is loaded, OSU would be up there if Sullinger is back, though not so much if he goes (sorry Rock, too many question marks beyond Thomas, Craft and Smith). Michigan would have a really good starting lineup if Burke and Hardaway stay and you know Wisconsin is going to finish in the top-4 by default. How come OSU's young guys are question marks but everyone else's are expected to be contributors immediately as freshman? OSU has just as many McD's AA's sitting on the bench about the make the leap towards their second year than any of the other teams in the conference have coming in. Second, the top recruit of last class didnt join the team until halfway through the year and got zero run. This was the youngest team in the conference this year, and in 2 years should be VERY good. Now if Tony Parker picks OSU this is all a whole new ballgame. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 08:53 PM) I think with the serious influx of athleticism, the defense will be a major, major upgrade. The offense was already probably the best in the country, definitely top 3. As the as the team chemistry continues to be this good, they should find themselves in it to the end. Crean has done a hell of a job. No one expected this, especially this year. Stats say IU was top 20. But once again 158th in defense. Bringing in young players doesnt really help teams on defense typically unless they are Davis or Craft type players. -

There are companies out there who still compile all of their financial data on excel spreadsheets, large companies at that. These are geniuses that spent hundreds of millions of dollars on an ERP system like SAP yet they extract their data, manipulate it in a free application and then re-upload it.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 08:16 PM) I had a great time for the four days I was out there, but I was ready to be back in Indiana. Fun place to visit, but I am glad to not have to do that every day. Fixed because you live in Indiana my friend.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Apr 2, 2012 -> 06:46 PM) The new park is unapologetically Miami, i love it. Its like if Chicago built a stadium where every time you hit a home run theres a contraption in the outfield showcasing dancing steelworkers and flying hot dogs shooting mustard everywhere. Steelworkers huh? Did we move to Pittsburgh?

So how many total classes do you think the starting 5 at KY actually attended?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 3, 2012 -> 10:26 AM) So yeah, he's probably "Biting the bullet" so that the MVP can stay on the bench. I've heard that his elbow injury is alot worse than being reported.
