  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 01:39 AM) Amen. Post more often. Some of us blame players; some blame managers/coaches. It's to each his/her own. I don't understand how it's been two days and you still don't get the fact your hero left for more money. If he didn't he would be coaching next season.
  2. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 09:28 PM) Kenny stated he is "punting" in an interview today.. And needs to clean up his mess if he wants to move up the corporate ladder. Payroll is getting cut, Mark coming back isn't cutting.. Ugh, your posts are so absolute. Quentin, Pierre, AJ and one or both of Danks and Floyd are gone at the very least. Kw plans on contending within 3 years so there is plenty of room and reason to bring back Buehrle. They've been talking as well which tells me they are bringing him back. But please continue.
  3. Lost in the whole ordeal is the fact that the Marlins were probably more talented on alot less steroids than that Cubs team.
  4. FYI. Just got a text that the Sox have spoken to Mark's agent. Thats progress from last we heard. Take it FWIW
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 08:08 PM) I didn't see that as hyperbole. I was only 20 at the time (much more immature back then). But I wanted no part of baseball if the Cubs won the World Series. No lie. The s*** that I had to put up with during that run? I can't even explain it. My f***ing parents, who can't spell baseball, started talkin' s***. I'll always be in debt to the Marlins. But my fandom has to stop now. As they are now home to a loudmouth, pathetic manager, who's a lot more bark than bite. I agree, I got to sit a floor below my Cubs fan Dad and hear the pain of them dropping both games. But Minka and Ashley Greene with a sex tape?? Yowza
  6. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 07:50 PM) If a school gets sanctions so should a coach, and they should follow him wherever he goes. Generally they do and I fully expect Tressel to get a "show-cause" penalty just like Sampson.
  7. Wow, "I'm gonna kill you!" And Blago, what a perfect Cub fan to make such a terrible remark.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 07:42 PM) Watching this movie is going to be better than any sex tape with Minka Kelly and Ashley Greene. Whoa, easy there.
  9. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 07:37 PM) Hey, no worries, looks like my school is back in the NCAA investigation picture. Lane Kiffin really is the gift that keeps on giving. I'm so f***ing pissed. I dealt with a year and a half investigation, and now another one is being opened up for more violations during Kiffin's tenure. When will it end? Yet he's still allowed to coach. Something is so f***ing wrong with that. The good news is he wont last long at USC.
  10. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 07:40 PM) nice crowd reaction shots. "SOMEBODY HIT HIM" pretty sickening. Thats Cubs fans for ya. Just horrific.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 07:41 PM) The ball just jumps off of Flowers and Viciedos bats when they make contact. To think all they did with Tyler was move his hands up to shorten his swing and he still kept power to all fields. f***ing brilliant.
  12. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 07:31 PM) Guys and Gals.. lets not use another thread trying to prove me wrong.. and then lie about you "did" it. Lets keep this about Mark.. I wasnt even involved in the thread that pwned your ass, you are just an annoying and worthless poster. I'm guessing your time here will be short lived and then nobody will care about the crap you wrote. You'll fade into the masses of trolls before you that nobody remembers.
  13. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 06:40 PM) What am I stating wrong.. I just repeating what most fans here think... Everything is Ozzie's fault.. Now that he is gone World Series 2012.. here we come. I don't think we loose another game ever. Stop playing the victim, Ozzie was a s***ty manager and is gone. f***ing deal with it.
  14. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 06:16 PM) LALALALALALALALALALALALA ---ESPN I just almost s*** myself.
  15. I'm probably one of the few people on here that interacted with Ozzie on a personal basis more than once. Really nice guy in person and always had a moment for strangers that wanted to say hi. Its too bad he became a terrible manager.
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 05:11 PM) I said, "most" commuters who CAN, take a train. For a lot of people it isn't a realistic option, because they live too far away, or have to take multiple lines, etc. And while it may seem "fair" to charge them, fairness isn't going to jive with impact here. I agree it would seem fair, I just think it may have a negative effect. I would be open to the idea of, say, just having people buy a city parking sticker - $100 a year or so - to park in the city. For people who only visit occasionally, provide $2 daily permits or something, kind of like making the whole city have zoned parking. It is a small enough amount to not be a massive increase in costs to people, it would force more folks to take transit (which is good), and give the city more money for its infrastructure. But doing a congestion toll like they suggest, even at just $1 a pop, that's $20 a month or $240 a year for a commuter. Do it at $5 like they suggest, it becomes $1200 a year. Agreed in principle. On any day 80 percent of the open parking spaces on my 2 block stretch are occupied with non-Chicago resident's cars. I know this because I did a survey in preparation for making my block a zoned parking area (A big f*** you goes out to Alderman Burnett who has yet to read my petition after 6 months). Those people should all have city parking stickers or be subject to a 50 dollar per day fine.
  17. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 08:02 PM) Incredibly stupid. Besides passing, what part of his game screams center? Draws? Maybe he can win 30% if he's lucky. Defensive responsibilities? Yikes. Everyone can play center in Q's world. Well, the player people compare his passing and puck skills most to is the Great One. IIRC he played a bit of center. They are pretty close in defensive point shares. He was a career +20, Kaner is currently a +16. Obviously they arent going to be close to the same player, but maybe the coaching staff thinks that his ability to create shots for teammates will be more valuable at the center position. He already leads the break from that spot anyway.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) I'm guessing he wasn't on the air when he spoke candidly with you though. No, but I can tell you that he is 100 percent an Ozzie guy.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 05:19 PM) I just listened to 17 minute Oz interview on whitesox.com and he was gracious. The more I think about this I am just sick over the fact KW won this war. s***. I better log off a while before I explode. Kenny Williams beat Ozzie Guillen. My god that is like Victor Ortiz beating Mayweather. Ozzie left for more money, deal with it please.
  20. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 05:16 PM) Ranger, knows where is bread is buttered.. He never states anything bad against the Sox even it is needed. I've spoken with Rongey personally and this is not the case with him as a person. He willingly fought me on many topics surrounding management and his opinions.
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:47 PM) Problem with that is, you will give more incentive for businesses to flee to the suburbs, which is the opposite of what the city wants right now. Most sane people who can do so, commute via trainfrom the burbs. But that doesn't work for some people, for a variety of reasons. And the top execs of larger firms tend to drive or be driven because they don't want to take mass transit, and they are the ones who most influence the decision on where to locate the company, so I'm not sure you want to give them more reason to leave. The City of Chicago does very little in the way of mary jane law enforcement, so the impact on that end would be minimal. But, you could put a city tax on it, and that would work. I disagree just because of the sheer population in the city. I personally wouldnt take a job in the burbs if I had to commute. I also debate the "most" comment on commuters coming into the city. The number is staggering, much worse than you think. And even if its not taxing them, they should have to pay for a Chicago parking permit like the rest of us to park on the streets, thats only fair.
  22. Jewfro beats down Cowley. I love it because he hates Garfien
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:43 PM) I can't speak pre-1991. But Frank, Ventura, Fisk, Bo, Thigpen, Black Jack were all MUCH more popular than Ozzie. Ozzie was a bum with the bat. But those were the days when it was acceptable to be a blackhole offensively at the SS position. For sure, and dont forget my namesake, someone who was actually productive and has HOF credentials. Ozzie was colorful and was good with the glove, but he was not a face of the team nor someone who would make your top 5 jersey list at the time.
