QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 5, 2011 -> 03:21 PM) Im strictly referring to Italian Sausage. I havent tried their polish, but Italians are my favorite, and since the change I cant eat them. And to me that is a major issue and I demand satisfaction. (edit) And taken out of context that can be read hilariously. huh, I am going to have to try their italian, I didnt even know they had them. I'm a spicy italian fan myself, some real good ones at this place on randolph.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 4, 2011 -> 03:58 PM) Just for the record, after the institution of the Bobak's strike and the failure of the Sox to stop serving Bobak's Italian sausage the White Sox are 0-1. Do you hate Bobak's polish sausage? Is it just at the park you dont like Bobak's? If you go down to their store and buy some polish sausage its usually awesome.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 4, 2011 -> 07:48 PM) What happens with Tressel in August? Do they announce investigation results or something? And will he resign before that? Just curious, I haven't kept up on the case lately. He's gone dude. I heard they already sent feelers out for his replacement. -
QUOTE (Felix @ May 4, 2011 -> 09:46 PM) Horrible is very accurate for his game. You can say that some/most (depending on your outlook) of that is because of the ankle, which is certainly true, but it doesn't mean the game wasn't horrible. He was really, really bad. Hawks fan this round? Terrible is a hilarious evaluation of his night.

QUOTE (G&T @ May 4, 2011 -> 05:00 PM) That's on Reinsdorf to some extent. After last year's feud and family nonsense someone had to go and Reinsdorf just is not interested in making tough decisions anymore. Of course it is, however I think of him as some old figurehead on the board at this point

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ May 4, 2011 -> 04:52 PM) My point is I don't know either....but what I don't/won't do is give myself an ulcer worrying about who in the front office we're going to fire when really, theres not a whole hell of a lot more they could do. As someone else said above, on paper this team should be solid. I don't see how you can blame the FO for literally a historic underachievment by proven players. Leadership has to lead, from the FO on down. KW hasnt had the f***ing balls to do something about a team that chronically underachieves every year but one. The entire organization lacks direction IMO, and it all starts at the top, KW.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 4, 2011 -> 01:07 PM) Kobe is only 32 yet he has lost a lot of his explosiveness, he has such great fundamentals that he still can dominate. LBJ will decline fast when he hits 30. Its all about how your knees can hold up when you are a constant jumper. I have jumpers knees from playing vball and I'm only 29. I can only imagine how much ice those guys have to use to keep their knees in shape. The players with touch on their jumpers definitely will last longer (which is what Jordan went to)

See I think their major advantage is that they are a one stop shop for their devices. Google may have launched android etc, but all of the hardware is being produced by other companies which makes them lose total control over user experience. Apple focuses on the hardware being simplistic, there being one place to get add ons and apps, and keeping the user experience very even across the board. Some people just really like that simplicity.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 4, 2011 -> 03:51 PM) So, you blame the players who don't make the majors for the mistakes that the guys who do make it make? That makes zero sense. As a fully seperate argument from your false one about fundamentals, certainly, the farm sucks. But that's not a result that matters - that's an institutional risk. And if he can prove consistently that it doesn't matter, then it doesn't matter. So who on this roster would you replace with a minor leaguer, even a very good one? Unless you are one of these people who thinks there is such a thing as a can't miss prospect (which does not exist), the answer is basically none. And if your argument is that they wouldn't have to sign these big contracts as a result, I'll say again... show me the bad contracts. Show me the supposed albatross contracts this team has, that KW signed. Teahen is bad, but its one more year at a relatively low number. Ohman was overpaid. Who else? Rios as an acquisition maybe? KW isn't the problem here, at all. He's succeeded, as far as I am concerned. Its not a false argument. We could simply rebuilt our team with our own players if we not only drafted talent, but were able to consistently groom players within our system. If we had an actual teaching method we would be able to plug fundamentally sound players already versed in how the big team plays at least once in awhile. Instead we are forced to sign or acquire players from other teams to try and plug holes, which clearly hasnt been working most of the time. The organization as a whole has no direction, no philosophy, and pretty much no immediate hope of success. Thats grounds for a CEO to get fired by his board, and KW is the CEO of this organization.
-
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 4, 2011 -> 03:45 PM) The players with poor fundamentals are coming mostly from outside the system... because most of the players, period, are coming from outside the system. So I disagree with your sentiment. Most of that is because we dont have the players in our system to fill holes.

UCF now being investigated by NCAA. They've been busy it appears. No wonder Tressel's death march was postponed until Aug. -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 4, 2011 -> 03:42 PM) I personally don't see a need to fire KW. I think on the whole he's done a great job. This is not about building a poor roster, at all. Its about living up to talent. That's on the manager, the coaches, and the players, in some combination. Its not just out major league roster, he's responsible for the entire organization including the minor leagues and scouting. We have no identity, no "White Sox Way" being taught up and down our system. We have players coming up to the majors with poor fundamentals.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2011 -> 03:29 PM) Rock, there goes Carlos Pena again. He'll have 10 homers by end of May. Must have got a new shipment in. I saw it. He's cheating a bit, I expect another slump shortly. -

Fire Everyone from KW on down. The organization as a whole has had zero direction, zero character, and zero identity.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ May 4, 2011 -> 03:23 PM) I wonder what it would take to completely purge any mentioning of ALL IN from the White Sox. Some people think that it is one of the reasons for the bad start because players are pressing too much out of the gate. It kind of makes sense to me. How about Fold Pre-flop, this team sucks cock. Nice ring to it. -
