Long run complete, 5.5 miles, 770 cals burned like a biatch.
  2. Please go to Cleveland, I think the Bulls finally get to beat on them, and they match up well with the Heat. Please please please.
  3. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 06:29 PM) I hear that Rock. Ive probably posted more times in this thread than if you counted all of my posts in all NBA threads in the history of Soxtalk. In case anyone is looking for a new way to watch basketball, I suggest checking out the Ferocious Badgers of Wisconsin. These guys make Hoosiers look exciting. But win they do. We are ever so close to college FB season as well. Cant wait for both. Oh, and I too love Bo Ryan. Did we sign and trade for Evan Turner yet?
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 06:15 PM) Sorry steve, ace, rowand, willie, but the fake dream is over. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nba/news/story?id=5365192 f*** yeah JR, I love you.
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 06:17 PM) Sweet now I can watch Rookie Blue instead, the girl is super hot. Anyways back to College Basketball for me! BO RYAN BIATCH Def on my top 5 fav sports. Looks like the dispartity is going to get bigger with LBJ in Miami. Sox, Hawks, Bears, Buckeyes bball and FB Bulls bball
  6. I took a min and thought about it, then realized that NBA basketball is probably not even in my top 5 fav sports, so f*** it.
  7. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 05:40 PM) Floyd has been great. Why does he do this every year? I think that would be my order too. I will be too tired tonight after I have to go do my wedding registry. Annnnnd you win.
  8. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 05:34 PM) There are going to be a handful of pissed owners and Stern will not let them get toyed like this again. Personally I think Wade did most of the f***ing with owners. He basically toured around scouting team's pitches while in the background recruiting everyone else to come to the Heat.
  9. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 05:34 PM) they may say that in public hes the ace but i can tell you i had a conversation last week with someone and Danks was the guy starting game 1 obviously that could have changed if jake had kept pitching great but if the game were last week it was danks i fight enough for a living, i want to be a sox lover! I'll be too tired to type after 6 miles and ARX tonight anyway. Now you'd have to go: Danks Floyd Buehrle Garcia IMO. Floyd has been nasty of late as well.
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 05:21 PM) And I love you both I dont even remotely like you.
  11. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:43 PM) What mechanical flaw was this? Please enlighten us. Yes he has been very good. Yes he was throwing the ball very well. He also had some awful games. Everyone goes through streaks. Funny how a guy who has been here all of 20 starts is automatically declared the ace without having to back it up. By the way as of last weekend, Danks was the team's choice to start game 1 of the playoffs, assuming they could set the rotation how they wanted. http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0oG77...p&fr=my-myy 5th article down. Peavy would have always started game 1 since as Coop and Ozzie have said, he's the Ace of the staff.
  12. Funny how a few bad starts can all of a sudden make a guy not worth a contract, and also NOT an Ace. Last season he started 3 games and was as dominant as possible shutting out Detroit twice. April 7.85 ERA 1.81 WHIP in 5 starts May 5.09 ERA 1.11 WHIP. in 6 starts June 1.75 ERA 0.92 WHIP in 5 starts Notice a trend? After a mechanical flaw was corrected, he has been very good. Another month like June and his ERA is in the 3's. Funny how that works doesnt it? All signed pointed to continued performance until his damn muscle detached from his bone, he was throwing the ball extremely well when he went down.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:16 PM) Peavy dominated the likes of Cleveland, the Cubs twice, Washington and the Royals. Yeah, the guy is a good pitcher and we're better with him healthy than injured. Has he lived up to his billing? No. Has he been worth the money? No. Has he been worth the players we gave up? Hard to tell. Would I undo this trade if I could? You're damn right I would. Now that doesn't mean I fault Kenny for making the trade, and I certainly understand no one could have predicted this (well, some actually did), but considering what Peavy has contributed thus far this season, I don't think there will be a big drop off when Hudson steps in. Gotta side with Doc and VL on this one. He hasnt even pitched a whole season, what player would be worth the money when they are injured? He contributed dominant performances during our hot streak, just like the rest of the pitching staff that underperformed when Peavy did.
  14. I refuse to believe one of the most ego centric players in the NBA would sit down and orchestrate a move that makes him look like D Wade's lapdog. I just dont see him wanting to be in the same position as superstars who are usually past their prime when they go to teams just to win a title as a role player.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:09 PM) HEY LOOK A SOURCE SAID IT Inside sources.
  16. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 03:21 PM) He is pitching? Where? On your Xbox? Last I checked an ace should have an era below 4.50. If thats your definition of ace I would hate to hear who you think is an average pitcher. You can't possibly be ignorant enough to think all numbers are equal in different leagues and different parks. I will enjoy the rest of the season while you cry about the past. LOL. Yes, his ERA would have stayed that high, im sure you said that a month ago his ERA would stay where it was before it began its free fall. Keep calling me ignorant while posting total gibberish. Find one person who knows the game of baseball that wouldnt call Peavy an ace. There isnt one person on the Sox that would be on your side. Your opinion is your opinion, but its a terrible one. And an FYI, I will be crying about it in my season tickets seats all weekend where I have been watching games since 2003. I have been one of the most positive fans on this board since I joined, you should really get to know who you are posting about before saying crap that is that far off base.
  17. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 02:36 PM) He might be if he were the best and most talented pitcher and if he were actually pitching. Since he's not lets focus on who is here and the nice job Mr. Danks is doing today. He is. Only Cy Young winner on the staff with the best career numbers. He's the best, he's the Ace. Enjoy your denial.
  18. First sweep of the angels since the 80's did I hear that right?
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 02:07 PM) What were Jordan's intangibles? Being able to close games out? It's not like he's a s***ty player in normal leverage situations or anything. People remember those moments the most, so they need to identify it as something. Unfortunately, they confuse that with intangibles, when in reality, that's just Jordan being really good. Intangibles such as team leadership have their bearing, they probably do exist. However, we'll never know how much, because it's an intangible. You can say anything about an intangible and it can be true, so there is literally no proof for how much it exists. The entire thought process of an intangible meaning something that we can quantify or even qualify is contradictory. The problem I have with intangibles is that people take them far too seriously and overvalue them. His ridiculous competitive nature was what fueled Jordan to become what he was. From getting beat up by his brothers to not making his HS team. It fueled his desire to be the best and run over everyone in his way. If he didnt have that, he may have still been a good NBA player, but not what he was.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) The problem is, you can only watch so much. In a lot of ways, your eyes are the most powerful weapon for talent evaluation, but in a lot of cases, stats are king. For example, would I rather listen to John Kruk talk about how great Torii Hunter is at fielding or should I just look at UZR and conclude that Hunter's been very mediocre for a while now? I'll take the latter, because John Kruk is most likely the illegitimate father of Paul McAnulty. If they arent related I dont know what is truth. Intangibles do exist however, but they also influence stats which will be reportable. Michael Jordan's intangibles made him the best player ever, without those, he probably just produces at a high level because of his talent. PLayers can still produce and not have those intangibles. Its those little things that can turn an avg player into a good one or a good one to a great one.
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:58 PM) I mean don't get me wrong, the odds are absolutely against the Bulls even if I think they have one of the better shots still(if that make sense), I just still don't believe this Miami non sense. I think its Cleveland. I honestly dont think he likes Wade that much, especially after he took Bosh off the market.
  22. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:54 PM) OMG I hate intangibles. That along with clutchness have decreased the IQ of sports fans by at least 30-40 points. People who think stats tell the entire story of a player dont even need to watch games, that alone is retarded.
  23. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 12:48 PM) Not downplaying it at all. I have the opinion that I don't think its a big loss. You have a different opinion. That doesn't make you right and mean I am trying to downplay something. Had Hudson been in the rotation the first half instead of Peavy I don't think our record would be any different. If you think an emotional leader is worth 16M than so be it. No, the best and most talented pitcher on our staff is worth that much. The leadership is a bonus.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 11:57 AM) I doubt it, 70 wins doesn't do you much if you kill yourselves to get it and are out of gas in the playoffs. I don't think they're idiots. The Bulls did it by absolutely cruising out of the gate at 41-3, they had plenty of gas left.
