QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 02:42 PM) Yeah, but how good did you feel this morning? I am dragging from a day of no sleep, eating crap, and not working out. Little sleep, so now I feel terribly tired. About to do B&B however so I think that will wake me up.
  2. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 04:25 PM) Richmond is very close to getting throttled. This will be my first big loss. And not the last.
  3. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 09:40 AM) Just completed my bracket. I hate when I finish and realize I have very few upsets. I just don't see many this year. Yikes! already a few.
  4. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 03:45 PM) OMG f*** yes!!! I saw they took a 3 in yahoo with 12 seconds and I figured it was over. Seems like I'm missing some damn good games, stupid work. Dude, it was awesome. I jumped up like I hit the shot and I only picked them to win this one game.
  5. First 4 games decided by 12 points total. unreal.
  6. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 03:39 PM) Update for Murray St anyone? 4.2 left, down 1, hit a shot after about 12 screens somehow.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 10:35 AM) No better way to start your day! stabbing myself in the face would be right up there in pain content.
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 10:03 AM) Somebody missed the breakaway that was a direct result of Buff's D-suckiness. Def missed that, I saw him stop a few with great poke checks at the blue line however. We need a big body back there with how small the D has gotten.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 12:28 PM) This is kind of what I was hoping to see. I can look up to see what he is hitting, but I want to know how he is hitting it. Is he cheating on fastball from crappy AA pitchers, or he is doing something legitimately worth getting excited about. Is he hitting good off-speed stuff, and decent pitchers? I really like the arm extension he is getting so far this spring, he looks to be staying back with his hips a bit more than in previous years where he cleared them almost immediately.
  10. Dammit, I have Nova going out next round anyway, so a loss would have helped.
  11. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 12:44 PM) True. I guess I should've also added that he hit .250 with RISP. It was his nex to worst split next to bases loaded. RISP w/2 out was worse at .240 as well. He's not good at driving runs in. He's a .284 hitter with RISP for his career so he isnt that bad at all. I do prefer him hitting 6th however.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 02:20 AM) Missed my workout for the first time today in 37 days. Had a tee time for 108 and didn't want to mess with Shoulders & Arms before playing golf. Then had to go meet a girl for St Patty's Day, and I must say, I'm not going to beat myself up about it too badly. This is one of the reasons I have been busting my ass like this for 8 weeks in the first place. Going to hit it tomorrow morning before the tourney starts. Woo! EARLY MORNING PLYO b****ES!!!!
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 07:34 AM) Just makes me sad to think if only DePaul had a wee bit of recruiting capabilities.... Chicago Area players in NCAA Tournament 0 fans, no gym, 0 talent. It sucks but its true.
  14. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 05:59 PM) Titus: "Calm the Michigan down." LOL I shouldve followed this guy more, every time I go read his blog it cracks me up. Did you watch him on camera after OSU wont eh B10 tourney? They had to walk in another camera just to get him out of the frame. HIlarious.
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 08:10 AM) I think right now that TCQ may be the worst defensive OF on the team, all things considered. I actually like the idea of him getting lots of time at DH. Speaking of guys that pass the eye test. Everything looks like its GO for Mr Quentin. He looks alot more loose in the batters box this spring than last year.
  16. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 12:27 AM) David Ortiz, Josh Hamilton, Alex Rios, Brian Buscher, Coco Crisp, Josh Wilson, Wilson Betemit, Marco Scutaro, Howie Kendrick (.900 OPS last spring), Gary Matthews Jr. (.828 OPS last spring), Robb Quinlan (1.000+ OPS, 5 HR last spring), Brandon Wood (.900+ OPS, 4 HR last spring). That's a few names from the Angels who put up a .910 TEAM OPS last spring. I can name 100 players who's 60 spring AB were the complete opposite of what they gave their team during the season then you can come back and name another 100 who kicked ass during both. All it proves is that you have no idea if a player can match his spring production because all you're getting is a small sample size of glorified batting practice, it would be irresponsible to attempt to derive anything meaningful from such a tainted, tiny sample. I have hope for Andruw Jones, I have ever since we signed him but that has absolutely nothing to do with his 20 or so spring ABs, no, it's because of his talent, re-dedication to conditioning and the promise he showed last season before succumbing to a strained hamstring a little over halfway through the year. There's simply no way I can bring myself to get excited about 20 AB in the thin Arizona air. Thank you for helping my point. The results and numbers have nothing to do with it. If you havent SEEN Andruw Jones play, you cant make one call or the other on how he looks based on ST numbers. Of course based on how he is hitting the ball to all fields, staying back in his stance instead of the pull happy out in front approach he's been taking the last few years, I would say he is a much improved player and could be in for a good year. You can get excited when you see CLEAR changes in the way a player looks and is approaching the game, which has NOTHING to do with the actual numbers which was my point. If you havent seen the guy, your only negative or positive feeling is going to be based on stats on a sheet, which is irrelevant.
  17. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 10:17 PM) Well, that's just wrong. Alfonso Soriano and his .975 OPS looked amazing last spring too but then he came north and the breaking balls started breaking as they should and he shutdown. Thats your example huh. Well Beckham and his ST looked great last year and he turned into a stud. Now your turn.
  18. I think we solved out too many forward problem, Buff should play D, he's very good at it.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 10:14 PM) He should get a while for that one. It was ridiculous. If Ovy got two games for the hit on Soupy, that is a five gamer at least. At least Ovy is a good player, Wiz is a no talent assclown.
  20. Blah blah blah, doomsday!!! Spring training means nothing!!!! Thats what you'll hear from people that havent seen him live in a game this year. He is not pulling everything and isnt bailing out on breaking balls. He is going to have a great year.
  21. Wiz is such a little b****, not only is he going to be suspended for that hit, but he dropped the gloves on keith to instigate and proceeded to hit him in the back of the head. You are a p**** James.
  22. QUOTE (scenario @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 05:03 PM) Had one yesterday too. Didn't see today's, but yesterday's... Relayed a throw from Lexi to 1st. Good solid throw right on the money. Looked just fine. Footwork is still a work in progress, but he looks to be a quick learner.
  23. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) Players were probably voting based on reputation. Ozzie can't make an evaluation himself? Buncha balogna, I say. Putting Jones at one of the corners and DHing either Jones or Quentin wouldn't be a bad idea, though. Lyons actually said Oz said disregard all history, who is the best player right now.
