  1. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 11, 2010 -> 10:26 AM) I would love to see him go to Illinois, but I have a feeling he is going to choose Tennessee. Also, Illinois is a finalist for a 4-star CB, but the name eludes me. As big a Illinois fan as I am, if I am Prater, why would you choose Illinois at this time? I think his best option would be Notre Dame actually (who I hate). Big stage, needs some help at WR, wide-open offense of Brian Kelly and top QBs coming in all the time. He's gonna choose ND. I just hope this lands us Henderson. Its OSU, USC or Fla and only one of those schools kept their head coach.
  2. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Jan 10, 2010 -> 02:54 PM) Well, here's an example: my family moved to Tinley Park in 1987 when it was still cheap and affordable. But by the time we had to sell the house in 1999, everything in Tinley Park was too expensive for us, including the rediculous property taxes, because too many rich people came to Tinley Park and built ridiculously big homes (especially along 179th street behind Andrew High School, and the Bristol Park subdivision along 80th ave near 179th). Those big homes caused the prices of small dumpier homes to skyrocket to the point where poor people like me and my family can't afford it. So basically my family were here first, but ended up "forced out of the neighborhood" because of how expensive it got. There seriously needs to be more advocacy for the erection of affordable housing such as modestly-sized single family homes, condos, townhomes, apartments, and even land set aside for a mobile home park in every suburb instead of letting developers run amok and build all these obnoxiously-big homes in a socially-irresponsible fashion that would cause the eventual displacement of those who are less fortunate. Thats usually a good thing, you can then make money on your home after you put in some equity. As far as affordable housing, you will find a certain percentage set aside, but putting mobile home parks in every community would be a terrible idea. First of all it crushes property value, and even if its insensitive to say, those types of communities bring alot more than s***ty home prices to an area, think degradation of schools, more crime, etc. There have been some really great programs for affordable nice housing in the City at least that I know of. For example, when they build large condo buildings in my area, usually a percentage like 20 has been set aside at a fixed price for lower income housing. In that situation, the family gets a much nicer home and the area doest depreciate because of a housing project or something of the sort.
  3. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jan 10, 2010 -> 01:20 PM) So it is retarded to think that Colt's NFL future played a factor on the decision to sit out the rest of the game? OK butch, whatever you say. Yes, it was the fact he couldnt throw the ball across a living room that played THE factor in keeping him out of the game. There was no danger of making a pinched nerve worse and ruining his career, it was the fact he was completely useless as a QB.
  4. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 10, 2010 -> 11:20 AM) I think that was Rowland's point, actually. I just which rich people didn't have to ask so. . . rich. I was agreeing with him on that. I am from Downers Grove and I never thought that the town was so rich and snobby. In fact there are probably only 5 or 6 towns in the Chicagoland area that fit that mold IMO. A few out west, a few up north and thats about it.
  5. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 9, 2010 -> 07:11 PM) Yes, yes I do. He's incredibly talented (easily the most talented player on the court today, despite the fact that it took him a bit to realize he can't dribble past the press), and I seriously hope the Timberwolves draft him next year. But none of that changes the fact that he's a whiny b****. Completely disagree. He appeared upset at alot of the no-calls against the Gophers which was somewhat warranted, but also I thought he was more frustrated with the complete s*** show that surrounds him on his team. I would be pissed too if I had to play with the garbage that surrounds him day to day. I cant wait until this roster is completely turned over next season.
  6. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Jan 10, 2010 -> 12:19 AM) Awesome unintended rant. Generalize much? Since when it too many rich people a bad thing? That means your property may actually appreciate.
  7. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jan 9, 2010 -> 11:25 PM) Oh, so because my opinion is different than yours im "f***ing retarded." Im sure you know exactly what was going on in Colt's mind at that moment, and IM sure you were in the locker room when everyone was discussing the matter at hand. I never once acted like I knew for a fact McCoy sat out because of the NFL draft. However, in my opinion, hell yeah it played it a huge factor in his decision. It was HIS decision, not anyone else's, and HE chose to sit out. No, because your opinion is so wrong its retarded. You can still have it, but its incredibly stupid. Some people probably still think the earth is flat, but hell, its their opinion.
  8. QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 08:38 PM) I just went into sticker shock reading this thread. Holy crap at the house prices. I live in 1400 Sq feet, its priced at about 400k. Money goes nowhere in Chicago.
  9. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jan 9, 2010 -> 02:50 PM) I'm kinda surprised Brandon Willis recommitted to UT. Sure sounded like UNC would be it earlier today. Definitely excited about that. Plus, Ahmad Dixon committed before the game. Nice day for recruiting. Sorry about Floyd, Rock. I really didn't want him going to Florida. Something is fishy about whats going on at Florida. Urban leaves, doesnt leave, somewhat leaves, calls players everyday telling them he's staying, Strong leaves, and players are still going there. I dont get it.
  10. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 9, 2010 -> 05:13 PM) Huge win for the Gophers today over Ohio State. It was a pretty tight first half, but the Gophers pressured the s*** out of Turner in the second and really took over. Hoffarber had 27 points and seven three pointers, while Al Nolen had one of his best games of the year with 11 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, 4 steals and just 2 turnovers. Evan TUrner is going to fit in just fine in the NBA. He was b****ing and moaning after every call that went against him today, as expected. Gopher win at home, what was the big surprise about that? You wish you had a player the caliber of Turner. It was his second game back from breaking bones in his lower back, give him some time and then we'll see what he does.
  11. Tomorrow is D-Day for Shariff Floyd, please pick the buckeyes.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 07:27 PM) Where's ptatc to describe the mechanism of the injury? It's been described as if you slept on your arm all night, and being that I do that all the time and I have s***ty circulation, I understand. Sometimes I cant open a door when I wake up in the morning. McCoy has been a warrior in the NCAA the last several years and anyone who said he stayed out because of the draft is f***ing retarded.
  13. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 03:56 PM) Jim tressel isn't going anyewhere. LOL. Nice.
  14. Big 10 finishes the season with 4 teams in the top 16, and 3 in the top 10.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) And her breasts got big. Fair trade off IMO. I do like boobs, good point.
  16. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 03:06 PM) Good. Hopefully brings USC down a notch. Of course he'll probably fail in Seattle and then go to some other college program people will eventually hate Well, Kiffin will be fired by then right?
  17. The Reds. I went to alot of their games when I went to Miami since they tickets were like 8 dollars each. PLus they hate the Cubs and their fans which is a bonus.

Her face got ridiculously wide as she got older.
  19. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 12:06 PM) lol, this is the difficulty (and benefit) of having so many houses available. There's like 30 different suburbs that I've been told are nice and great for what we want. But what makes suburb X better than suburb Y? Someone with time should create a website devoted to this. You gotta just make a list of areas that are the right distance for you. Then search housing prices, if they fall out of your range, cross it off. Lastly, take a weekend and explore the towns, walk around, grab some food, speak with the locals. Its all about taste and each person has their own. For me, I like nightlife and eating out and dont mine sacrificing a yard for the location nearest to the city which is why I like Forest Park, Oak park and even Evanston. Some people prefer getting a castle for their money and will move to plainfield or Bolingbrook. Its going to be a long process for you.
  20. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 01:53 PM) Clearly Alabama didn't play up to their capabilities though. They made some mistakes that allowed Texas to get back in the game. But as someone else said, they played a ridiculously conservative game once they had that lead. It almost came back to bite them but I guarantee Bama plays differently (and most likely better) if McCoy doesnt get hurt. I bet during half time, with McCoy gone, 75% of that Alabama team (and coaches) thought that game was over, and it showed. Bama doesnt get the ball as much with McCoy in nor can they run the entire game when they are behind. Of course it would have been a different game. But that doesnt mean that Bama would have unleashed this devastating passing attack that they dont have.
  21. LOL, Schaumburg, didnt the guy say he wanted to be CLOSE to work. That is the absolute boonies. And much farther than a 45 min drive in traffic. Try westchester on the west side. Its become somewhat affordable and is a good starter area. Hell for that money you can get a good place in Forest park and still have a good nightlife in your city as well as even an El ride to downtown. Since we are almost the same age, Forest Park would be my choice if I was transitioning to the burbs without children.
  22. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 10:23 AM) You know what was pissing me off last night? Brent Musberger acting like we need to feel sorry for Mark Ingrams dad and hoping that he got to see his son before he was sentenced. f*** THAT. Im not about to feel sorry for a convict, and I dont need to be told that I was thinking I hope he didnt see the game since the f***er is in prison. He shouldnt have access to TV's to watch a football game.
  23. DO Bruins fans really have to make that LLUUUUUUU sound everytime the guy touches the puck? Maybe when he scores or something, but everytime? I enjoyed watching you get dominated Boston.
