  1. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 11:15 PM) No way in hell anyone could say that. I will. Texas beats Bama by at least a TD with McCoy.
  2. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 01:26 AM) With either Bates or Martz, this offense will got on attack. The next step is to get that green painted mudd replaced with Field Turf. Field Turf is an important step in the offseason. Having a speed attack type offense when your receivers are going to fall down, slip due to green painted mudd or planting sod in December is not going to work. Problem is that it is funded by the park district, which would never front the money for field turf.
  3. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 04:35 PM) I've never understood why people love Coke so much, Pepsi wins every time IMO. The only type of Coke that competes is the sugar cane kind, and until recently I could only get that at mexican restaurants/corner stores. Because pepsi tastes gross?
  4. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 03:47 PM) I beg your pardon? RC takes a back seat to no cola! People love RC. It should be at every restaurant along with water and beer. Anytime anyone says, "Oh, this pop is so good. What kind is it?" The answer invariably comes back, "RC!." RC! Again and again. Lesser cola? I think not." Its much cheaper for bars to carry RC products and when I have worked at ones that did, we always ended up switching to coke products because of the complaints of RC and Diet Rite specifically.
  5. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 01:40 PM) And RC is cheaper. My wife bought RC for a party we were having and she was like, I got RC because it was on sale...hope thats ok. I'm like ok??? RC is the bomb and I would put their product against any of em. Love me some RC, although I don't drink pop much anymore. I like their Green River and the flavored drinks, but Coca Cola Classic is king.
  6. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 12:07 PM) http://twitter.com/ESPY_TEAHEN thats one of the cutest f-ing dogs I've ever seen in my life.
  7. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 12:17 PM) I told my ticket rep exactly what I wanted, for two years in a row...and the notes I was read were wrong yesterday. Oh well, got it done. I'm going to enjoy this new seating arrangement. 3B side is sick. Great hotdog stand at the top of the ramp, BBQ beef and pork right there, and right off of the new gate that they just built.
  8. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 12:30 PM) IU looked absolutely awful in that game. What was it, 14 turnovers in the first half? It's not like we were going to make much noise with Creek, but watching him not in the lineup is painful -- it's like the rest of the team forgot they are allowed to drive and crash the boards. It looked like only 1 or 2 players showed up the first half, by the time they started playing the game was over.
  9. QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) Given a choice, I buy the made in Mexico cola product made with cane sugar. I just prefer the taste. There are a number of stores down here that carry it. Cool that Pepsi is giving it a try here in the USA I buy that as well. There is a mexican fast food place by my house that sells it in glass bottles. So good.
  10. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 08:11 AM) Well, I didn't have to hammer anything home. I got a call back from the director of client services, and I got things done. The notes they had on me were completely incorrect. I was in row 3 and it said I wanted to move closer to the field. WRONG. I wanted to switch sides of the field and was more concerned about moving back in the section. The view from row 3 is not very good...when you are down the line. I am happy...and I just got my new black Peavy jersey in the mail (awesome) and my Beckham jersey and I'm ready for sox fest and i got my tickets for spring training...and ....is this a run on sentence? Lets go get it...I'm ready for the season. I hear ya, my old rep always tried moving me up a row, he didnt understand that all I cared about was sections closer to the plate. I would rather be in the last row in 144 than in the front row in 150. When we switched sides of the field from 115 to 150, the process was so painful.
  11. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 08:06 AM) Row 19, Seats 1 and 2...weekdays...so I can throw popcorn at you. I'll be rocking a 1959 Aparicio jersey this year.
  12. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 09:43 AM) How bad are they? Seattle lost by 21 to Harvard. They are bad, but they have the projected #24 kid in the NBA draft, a 6'10" guy with handles and a shot.
  13. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) This thread has taken a fun Chicago-centric turn. Here's one. Remember when Shelly Long was the cute-as-a-bug Homemakers Furniture Girl? "It's not low price furniture. It's good furniture at low prices!" Going back a little further, remember when an unknown kid named Gary Coleman was on the Harris Bank comercials? Harris Lion: "Yoouu should have a Harris Banker." Li'l Gary: "You should have a Hubert Doll!" I had one! My father worked there for 30 years, I had a hubert as well.
  14. I cant believe Evan Turner came back in 4.5 weeks from a 2 fractured vertebrae.
  15. Sooo.... When Bolland is ready to play, who do you sit down?
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 02:47 PM) I like Raines, don't get me wrong. But here's my problem with him: He had a great career for about 7 years (1981-1987), then he was just kinda there for the rest of his career. Not really close to being one of the best players in baseball after that. I just don't think the flame was lit long enough. If he extended that greatness for about 3-4 more years, he would be more of a slam dunk. He's probably the 2nd best leadoff hitter of all time.
  17. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 05:40 PM) I wear a Carhartt Extremes coat. I've been a Carhartt guy since grade school since I looked up to my dad. I also have 2 other older Carhartts still going strong. Interestingly enough, my dad has moved away from Carhartt a bit because, like the north face complaints, the quality isn't as great while prices stay high. Construction workers swear by it so I know they have no problems selling... Today I wore flannel-lined jeans to work. They're Dickies and I got them for $15 shipped from dickies.com a couple of months ago with a coupon code. Oh s***, flannel-lined jeans!!! WTF!!! How have I missed out on that technology?
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 03:31 PM) North Face, as a brand, has gone downhill. Since they are now an "in" brand, a lot of their stuff isn't as quality as it once was. I no longer buy North Face gear - seen too many people have problems with it, including myself. So accurate. Thats why I started buying Mt Hardware, I heard that the original folks from NF started it and the coats are such a high quality IMO. I have their windstopper jacket and its easily the best I've purchased in the last several years.
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 04:55 PM) Arrelious Benn's older brother Trulon Henry committed to Illinois to play football. The only reason this is a story is cause as a teenager he robbed a grocery store with a gun, was convicted of armed robbery and served five years in prison. Now he's 25, played two years at College of DuPage, got his associates degree, and now has a scholarship to Illinois. Its questionable whether a convicted felon should get a schollie from a public state university, but thats for the Filibuster. I thought playing with his brother might be the one reason that Benn would stay another year, but obviously that didnt happen. Yeah, its strange that in a time where U of I is having to open up their books regarding preferential treatment that they would allow a convicted felon to attend for free. Maybe he was truly rehabilitated.
  20. QUOTE (spataro51 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 03:12 PM) I actually got pretty lucky this year.......my rep gave me a couple of options and it worked out pretty good. Over 4 years i was able to move to better locations every year.........last year i was 149 row 20 seats 9 and 10 ..........this year i am in 146 row 30 seats 1 and 2........so i am getting closer! lol when i started 4 years ago i was in 154 so 9 sections isnt too bad i guess. Nice work, do you have split season? My goal is section 144 for splits. I just moved up to section 149, row 11.
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 02:27 PM) Did you two just email your reps now? I am considering following up with mine (I emailed originally a couple weeks ago), but don't want to harass her either. This morning I did. They are all holding seats now, I would call today.
  22. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 01:40 PM) Columbia. Do you like it? I've historically been a North Face guy, and ive switched to Mt Hard Wear lately and like the lighter winter coats. I'm looking for a good down coat now I think.
