  1. LOL, nice. Wisco was too big and too slow, but still put up 400+ yards. NIce to see.
  2. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 10:55 AM) Purdue also started off the Big Ten season with a win. No surprise, Iowa is not a good team. The game vs. West Virginia should be an exciting one. Good thing it is a home game. They had a little more trouble with Iowa than most would think going into the game.
  3. Keith looked like s*** as well. Dallas just gives them fits.
  4. Effectiveness of a goalie starts with the defensive pairings in front of them, and luckily this is a huge strength of the Hawks. I am even becoming impressed with Hendry's performance of late which is encouraging.
  5. QUOTE (farmteam @ Dec 29, 2009 -> 02:24 PM) Maurice Creek done for the year. Not cool. Knew that when they carried him out on a stretcher.

    Whatcha get?

"The State" Dvd set. Doesnt anyone on here actually know what that is? Because nobody in my family knew.
  7. bucknuts.com and they are crazier and more negative fans than here.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 29, 2009 -> 09:04 AM) How many people get nervous on a plane during takeoff/landing anyway? My wife always does. Imagine if she weren't white...God help us all, that plane isn't going anywhere. I do, I sweat and fidget.
  9. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Dec 28, 2009 -> 09:59 PM) He is most definitely the MVP of the first half of this season. He does all the little things PLUS, he has 7 goals. I didn't think he would get much more ALL YEAR. He wins faceoffs and has taught the other young centers how to win more often. He's the "guy who knows how to win" that young teams need to get over the hump. I'm not saying he should be getting millions of dollars, I just hope they can sign him for a couple more cheaply. If not, they can't, but I'd personally like to see it. I disagree, you are hanging alot of credit on "teaching" and "little things". We have superstars that do these little things, and you dont notice it because they are awesome. Toews wins face offs, backchecks like a motherf***er and captains the team. Oh and he is +18 (third in NHL) and third on the team in points. Most valuable player should be the player that is most valuable to the team, and I dont have Madden( though I love him on this team) even in the top three. We have a dman sitting #2 on the team, #3 in the NHL in points and last I checked leading the NHL in ice time. Now THATS valuable and doing all the big and little things on the ice.
  10. They call him (Aromashodu?) D.A. SO i suggest we do that too since we'll be talking about this guy quite a bit. Holy f*** is he good. Good game by Chris Williams, he got help alot, but really looked like a legit LT against the best end IMO in the NFL. Oh, and Suck it Brett.
  11. How would you have reacted if this guy sat down next to you on a plane? No matter how crazy you are, there is going to be some nervousness in your body language and actions, did the person sitting in the same row notice anything? Would you tell someone?

no versus, so you dont get some blackhawks games.
  13. QUOTE (T R U @ Dec 28, 2009 -> 04:11 PM) I am so glad the Colts decided to call it quits on the rest of the regular season now, keeps my Dolphins as the only perfect team!! Oh, and if there were only 5 good teams back in the 70's why didn't anyone else do it? If it was the Bears who had gone undefeated everyone would hate them too and Bears fans would defend them the same.. Anything before Freee Agency doesnt mean as much as now. Its alot harder now for teams to be dominant.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 28, 2009 -> 04:10 PM) Hockey is one of those sports where stats absolutely lie. Pat and Eddie did a great job of explaining that with Troy Brouwer during yesterdays game. His big ass has generated three goals during the last two games. Do you know what he had to show for it on the stat sheet? Nothing. No goals. No assists. But without him, they don't happen. Ladd and Brouwer are complete experts at this. Ladd has been a maniac this season, but with no real point explosion.
  15. Pryor has been playing on a torn PCL for a good chunk of the season, is that something that requires surgery?
  16. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Dec 28, 2009 -> 09:53 AM) I think I said this earlier in the thread but, John Madden is easily the 'hawks MVP this year. Not because of goals or assists or defense or face-offs or hits or hustle, but because of ALL of those things. He goes out, plays hard, and is a winner. Love him and I hope they extend him 'til he doesn't want to play anymore. (or they can't afford him, whichever comes first ) Whoa whoa whoa there guy, I like Madden as much as the next guy, but we have a team full of stars including the plus/minus leader and probably the best D man in the league. Madden is a really really good role player, but he's no MVP.
  17. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 28, 2009 -> 06:51 AM) Yes, I know exactly what you're talking about. I've never had that problem with my 40" Sony LCD at home, though. Maybe they're leaving the TVs on the overly-sharp, overly-bright store settings. There's good info out there on calibrating your TV. their aspect settings may not be set right as well. Some people just plug and play without checking if its configured correctly. Also not having the correct cables are an issue as well. I have a friend who told me HD was a farce until I noticed that he didnt use HDMI cables for his HD. And calibration is key. The factory settings of some TVs are terrible, go to the avnet forums and follow one of their threads on your particular tv.
  18. Motown sports is not a good message board, at least in the hockey sense, they are terrible fans.
  19. I immediately thought that Urban got caught for something that would have to call for a suspension and instead he is "going on leave." But who knows. Its seems strange that he was in talks allegedly with ND for their position yet knew he had health issues bad enough that he had to take time off from coaching.
  20. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 26, 2009 -> 09:32 PM) I'm reading this thread from page one and I noticed a lot of you didn't want Huet to be the Hawks' goalie this season. What would you say on his performance so far this season? Happily eating crow.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 23, 2009 -> 09:56 PM) Yeah, if he can close at all, it is his chance at a big paycheck. I'd take the promotion too. The Cubs will still give him a chance to close when Marmol either implodes or explodes his elbow.
  22. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Dec 23, 2009 -> 06:36 PM) I'd have him pegged for an ERA near 4 next year. I'm not going to argue that Javy's going to dominate the AL, i just don't think he's as bad as everyone says. I don't disagree with any specific point of yours, Javy's a flawed guy, and i agree that the park factor and ERA trends put him in a bad spot, i just hate to see Sox fans forget what he achieved for this team. You have him pegged for a lower ERA than his avg in the AL after moving to the biggest hitters park he's ever pitched in. Doesnt reality play a role in this whatsoever?
