  1. No way Benn stays. Without Mendenhall, Illinois has proven to be a pretty bad team and its not getting any better, time to skip and make his dollars. I would draft him in the 1st round and so would alot of teams.
  2. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 01:19 AM) Im sure you wouldnt decline the Sox Pride though Rongey has torn through half that crew already.
  3. KW isnt done yet BTW. I just hope this was the marginal bat I heard about.
  4. I wish we were in on Cliff Lee, he is so f***ing good.
  5. well this thread has turned pathetic in a flash.
  6. Take posts with a grain of salt when EVERY offseason is the worst ever. KW is working on a bat, which one is yet to be seen.
  7. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 03:56 PM) Halladay has over 800 more MLB innings though. Did you count the innings when Lee was in the minors in the middle of his career?
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 01:50 PM) I actually have no problem with Bennett. He has hung on to the ball after taking some serious shots. I like what he has shown in his first actual year playing Me too. Bennett, Knox and Aromashodu look to be all NFL capable WR's. Aroma looked unbelievable yesterday and Cutler has been lobying for him all season including when he was almost cut from the team.
  9. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 12:14 PM) Im not a huge hockey enthusiast but its clear when you watch Hossa that he is on a different level in terms of ability. I know Toews and Kane are good, but Hossa is probably the best right now. 3 different players, but I get what you're saying. Experience goes a long way as well with Hossa. Toews has quite a bit of the defensive ability of Hossa, but without his blazing speed on the offensive end. Kaner is just a player all his own, not many people can do what he does with the puck in the world.
  10. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 04:54 PM) I'm still very much behind Jay Cutler, having said that (sorry larry david) I cannot defend that second interception. He eyeballed Knox the entire time, and there was absolutely no reason to throw the ball in that situation, it wasn't even a good defensive play. . . Jay threw the ball directly to Collins and Knox wasn't even in the vicinity. I believe that Jay has the ability to be one of the best quarterbacks in the league. . . but he is far from a finished product and may have been a little spoiled in Denver with that offensive line and those receivers. He needs to stop making the kind of decisions that cost the team points and victories. In addition to firing Ron Turner, I hope they fire Pep Hamilton as well. I don't know what role he plays as the QB coach, but he has failed to develop any player under his tutelage and I'd like to have someone spend time with Jay who can get into his head a little bit more. What a disappointing season. Knox has to read that his guy is going to blitz and he will be against soft zone coverage, instead of bolting down the sidelines he has to sit in the zone just past the first down marker. Jay should know a rookie probably wont read that correct, but Knox did run an incorrect read.
  11. I dont think this is the player they are targeting to be honest. I'm betting this offseason we unload a few prospects for a vet bat. And then sign one more.

    Computer Help

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 11, 2009 -> 09:38 PM) I don't even know where to go to turn the restore on. I may wipe it clean and re-install. Will have to find where to get that started. Just backup your drive and re install the OS, you probably have a virus deeply embedded in your system. Its probably a registry change that you dont even know happened. And this is why PC's suck.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Dec 12, 2009 -> 10:49 AM) Terrible refs? That's no excuse. Put the f***ing thing in the net. 7 goals in 10 games or whatever it is now is inexcusable. You will not win many games with that. Atleast Huet has played well.. Its a scoring slump and they are still winning games. When they break out of it they will go on another big run.
  14. Definition of a home court win for Butler. Tough to watch without Turner, it probably would have been a double digit win. Dammit, just stay afloat long enough to get into the tourney.
  15. Why are the Buffalo fans booing Kaner? Isnt he their hometown boy?
  16. QUOTE (beck72 @ Dec 11, 2009 -> 04:02 PM) Without adding a difference maker on offense, the sox will need all the pitching they can get. The addition of Putz will help the bullpen. But the sox can't now lose Jenks or Carrasco. They'll add another bat.
  17. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 11, 2009 -> 03:35 PM) Wouldn't Putz's agent shopping around the White Sox's offer have had the same effect? Because there's no doubt he did just that. Sure, but you know that when a signing is reported imminent and another team wants that player they get desperate. Not like it mattered in this case, but I know it annoyed KW because thats what he said.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 11, 2009 -> 03:24 PM) Cowley did a great job covering the Winter Meetings and he gets paid to uncover stuff about the Sox. HE did exactly that. Well done Joe!! He did his job well, it just made KW's slightly harder. IN the end, Putz wanted to come here, so he did.
  19. Matsui and a leadoff hitter is all they really have left. They may add a vet backup catcher, but thats probably all.
  20. QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Dec 11, 2009 -> 02:26 PM) He was doing his job. How does Cowley reporting that the two sides were talking almost ruin the deal? More teams got involved with his agent, there was even a "tryout" scheduled for teams to watch him workout. He was doing his job, but it slowed down KW's progress and may have upped the price a bit.
  21. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Dec 11, 2009 -> 02:06 PM) congrats to person aka joe cowely who no one likes. he broke the story and said it was close. And almost ruined the deal since it went public. It probably could have gotten done sooner.
  22. Theres no way they do this, he is a very good reliever.
