QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 06:11 PM) Unless youre Rich Rodriquez. Then you leave your team right before its biggest bowl game in history so that you can get Pryor. *rimshot* -

QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 05:10 PM) Rumor out of South Bend that they'll be a coaching announcement with the next week. Sounds like Kelly but the Stoops rumors persist. Theres no way they would announce within the week since their targets are all going to bowl games. Coaches simply wouldnt do that IMO, especially Kelly. If it is true, I hope domers realize tht defense is once again not going to be played in South Bend. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 05:14 PM) There were other times during that game where more than one lineman didn't move when Florida jumped offsides so it is apparently something they are taught to do. I have no idea why though and I don't know why he would be the only one not moving in this case. They do that a ton now to make a point that it wasnt them that jumped, its really f-ing stupid. -
Uggla expects to be traded during offseason

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 04:55 PM) irrelevant though. No, but the fact that he fits nowhere on this team and isnt an improvement over our current middle infielders is totally relevant. -

Oh and he would literally be one of the worst fits for a #2 hitter out there. The guy would k 150 times. -

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 09:48 PM) Sloppy, but solid win for the Bulls. Brad Miller was just outstanding today. Now I don't really care about the other soon to be free agents leaving us next year, but if he takes a good pay-cut (which I doubt he'll find 13 mil a year on the open market anyways esp. with him aging) I would love to see us bring back Brad Miller as a backup center next year. Sure this is also pending if we leave Noah at the 5 or move him to the 4. (also the Omar Asik scenario as well) Unloading his contract is more important than the occasional good games he has. -
There is a copy of the P90X set on Vuze torrant site right now.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 01:57 PM) With as much attention as there is on DeRosa right now he should be able to get a lucrative multi-year deal. I wonder if people realize he's 35 years old and is a man without a position. The Cubs will sign him to a 5 year back loaded contract.

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 01:13 PM) Is it possible for your muscles to be too strong for your ligaments, joints and tendons?? I injure my shoulders if exceed a certain amount of weight on my bench or military presses. The problem is that the weight I'm working with, doesn't cause a problem, but it's no longer challenging my muscles, so I move up in weight, even slightly and bam, I get injured. Yes, your body is really dependent on your bones and ligaments for any movement, they all compliment each other. It could be that they arent having enough recovery time or that you arent maintaining the stabilizing muscles. Instead of peppering those same exercises, try some body weight movements and work on flexibility with weight and help strengthen those ligaments.

A win is a win, and the conference will take it. And on the plus side, it appears Buford wont be jumping to the NBA since he cant hit a shot to save his life. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 05:19 PM) Why does his stuff matter when it comes to being a setup man vs. being a closer? You've just asked a question that manager have pondered over for years

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 04:27 PM) I do. An old beater of a pontiac sunfire that my fiance has had since college. It's got some dents and dings, so I'm not expecting much. KBB says $1200-1600, so I'll be happy with $1500. They'll offer 500.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 03:36 PM) I read the edmunds thing and it had some great advice. It's a little dated though (9% interest?!). Anymore it seems the dealers are being more competitve with each other to sell the car, for anything, just to get them off the lot. I'm looking at a 2010 Escape with an "internet price" of $27,798. The incentives/rebates right now are $1,000 promotion discount, $500 recent grad discount, and 0% financing for 60 months. So, right there I'm down to $26,298. According to edmunds, the invoice price is closer to $23-24,000, which is about my max of what I want to pay. I plan to basically ask the guy/gal what their price is, tell him i've checked with a few other dealers for the same car and been quoted at $23,500 or so and see what he can do. Make sure you do that in person, on the phone they arent excited enough to think they've got the sale. Drive the car, then tell them the price you want it for, if they cant do it, make sure you walk directly out. Dont stop. Make them call you.
-
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 08:57 AM) Confessions of a Car Salesman http://www.edmunds.com/advice/buying/artic...62/article.html This is a really good, though long, article from a reporter who decided to be a car salesman at a couple of different type dealerships and his experience on the inside, with how salesmen are trained to sell, how management works, and where they'll try to screw you. Car salesmen are the reason that people dont trust me when I first meet them in a meeting. I HATE how dirty you feel after you buy a car because you know somehow they ripped you off. The best advice is above, get your financing on a price you want to pay, and others have paid, and if they cant give you that price, walk. The finance guy at the dealership is the guy that makes them the most money.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 02:52 PM) I've only been to Karyn's Cooked once and enjoyed it. Will need to check out Raw. She's apparently building a new place in the west loop on Green and Adams in the old Green Room/butter space. I am really looking forward to it.
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 12:01 PM) Yeah. Only Green Zebra of the 3 is considered a veg restaurant although they typically have one seafood dish. It's Chicago's only higher end veg restaurant. It's the guy who also owns Spring and Chophouse Custom House. Knew just opened up by my house and focuses on eco-friendly sustainable foods. They have plenty of meat on the menu. Hachi's is my local sushi/Asain place that I really enjoy. Cool venue and great food. I was going to say you have excellent taste in veggie friendly places. Do you like Karyn's restaurants?
-
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 12:03 PM) Well, eliminate the following: Sushi, vegetarian, Indian/Pakistani, Pizza, Italian, Mexican/Latin. Not what I am looking for and/or one of us won't eat it and/or something we do too often. Also, no chains. A place with some variety is good, not too narrow. A really good steak house would be great, but so would any place that does some unique things. A place that takes reservations is preferable. My wife drinks wine but I drink beer - GOOD beer, not Miller Lite - so a place that has a good list of wines AND beers, to go with really good food, would be excellent. Its amazing how hard it is to find a good restaurant that also has a wide selection of beers. Check out Blue 13 that I sent you, VERY good. I usually drink one of their mircobrews. Also Sepia, blackbird, Redlight are near west and good. And for steakhouses, David Burkes is really f-in good.

Thornton would be a crappy closer, he lacks a true out pitch and fastballs can be hit. He should stay as our set up man and best LHP in the pen.

QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 11:24 AM) Yes I live on the same block as Blue 13, not bad...... How about a little more info? Half price wine night there is very nice.
