  1. QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 12:22 PM) Same, along with McCoy I'm sumlimenting it with Matt Schaub who has been nails at QB. Those 3 have won alot of games for me.
  2. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 02:33 PM) Balta brought up graduation rates; I didn't. I just know that as a non-athlete, if I wanted to go to - example - Ohio State, it would be much easier to get accepted there than at Notre Dame. Truth, I was just pointing out that graduation rate doesnt necessarily mean its easier to get into. For example, DJK wanted to go to OSU but they wouldnt let him in, so he went to Iowa which has a much better graduation rate than OSU, but could let him in. Notre Dame has some of the best talent in the country, and even though they cannot admit a bunch of non-readers like some SEC schools, they still have a very wide range of kids that they can let in there.
  3. My running game is just sick with D Williams and C Johnson.
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 11:13 PM) He gave Oden a facial (so did D. Rose actually), but Oden got the last laugh with just beasting Noah the whole game on the glass, and the Blazers winning. Oden threw Noah around a good portion of the game, even causing Noah to throw the ball in frustration.
  5. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 10:49 PM) I'm not making a snobby statement. I'm stating collegiate academic rules versus athletics success. I'm just saying that Florida/Oklahoma/Texas/USC can recruit athletes easier than ND/BC/Duke/Northwestern because their academic standards aren't as high for their athletes. If you can recruit anyone you want no matter their academic background, you can win more games. How does graduation rates prove that though? It just could show that their athletes are leaving school earlier with no need for their degree, there could be correlation on both sides of the coin you have to understand. Not to mention that many of the schools atheletes dont even attend real classes and probably didnt do a stitch of work to graduate in some cases, but the school doesnt care how they did it as long as they finish. There is good data there, but its not close to being proof of who cant recruit who. ND's problem is not recruiting the top talent at all.
  6. QUOTE (hogan873 @ Nov 22, 2009 -> 12:55 AM) Deal with it, Chubs. You're an athelete...act like it. I wish I had the time and facilities available to me that they do, I would be in ridiculous shape.
  7. QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 04:54 PM) Coaching can only screw up so badly. The talent isn't as bad as the record, but the talent was never capable of competing for a Big Ten title as some Illinois fans believed. I agree with this. Illinois may have some of the better NFL talent in the conference, but overall they are extremely light on difference makers and really didnt have the horses to compete in the conference even in a down year. Zook is definately the #1 problem, but I still think the depth had alot to do with it. Give this team to Ferentz however and they may have been near the top.
  8. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 02:22 PM) Sopel gets killed by his lack of speed...the man is a statue out there...I said b4 I wouldn't be shocked to see them try to deal Sopel. He's just not good, he's slow, cant handle the puck and brings nothing of value to the table.
  9. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 01:12 PM) Jealous of success?? Fan of the underdog syndrome? I like being the national powerhouse and having people hate it...oh wait this is the football board...... We are the only homers apparently. Although reading the first several pages of this thread......
  10. QUOTE (kev211 @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 12:41 AM) I've probably made you hate ISU haha Dont worry, it appears OSU and Kansas are the main problems.
  11. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 22, 2009 -> 03:21 AM) For those who missed the C.J. bomb. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/media/vide...tent_id=7137159 OMG, thats so Juan Uribe. Not only is he a little thick like Juan, but that HR swing was pure Uribe.
  12. Morel was drafted for his glove, but its his bat that has really come around. If you look at his swing now compared to before he was drafted its much different. Its more compact and his timing is much better.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 21, 2009 -> 09:13 PM) No joke. This board has made me just hate anything to do with Kansas and Ohio State. The homerism is just like a stench. How should fans of a team act that wouldnt upset you so much? Homerism is rampant on this board, you included, for whatever team they support.
  14. Anyone go back to check out the predictions we all made at the beginning of this thread? Yikes.
  15. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 21, 2009 -> 02:34 PM) Glad to see Iowa win. They still have an outside shot at being an at-large BCS team. And that would be great for their program and the conference (two big ten teams means big ten gets a lot more money to divy up amongst its programs). Their defense sure showed up today, every time I changed over to that game I saw Weber running for his life.
  16. QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 21, 2009 -> 01:52 PM) The game is also on MLB Network if you have it, which I do. sweet
  17. QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 21, 2009 -> 01:47 PM) If by draped you mean a bigger minority than most road games, possibly. You make me root against Ohio State. HAHA, thats good then. 6 in a row over UM, I'll take it.
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 21, 2009 -> 12:39 PM) You need a wider TV. Michigan's defense was fine in the 1st half. It usually is. Now is when Ohio State blows em out. This has been Michigan's MO the past 5 weeks. Game should probably be 7-6 OSU, but they don't execute when they half to. How can you miss a chip shot FG like that? 2nd week in a row. 50 in HD SAmmy and the Big House is draped in red except for one corner. The buckeyes are just going to run and run and run now.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 03:35 PM) Yep. Brad is pretty damn calm. This was out of character for him. Booze makes you do silly things.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 21, 2009 -> 10:13 AM) -oh-oooooh-oh-oh-ooooh-oh-oh-oooooh..The Right Stuff! Did the Ohio state fans only give Michigan fans one corner of the Big House? Alot of red in there.
  21. I'd like him fora 2-year deal. Guy is an RBI machine, hits lefthanded and would fit in well in our park. Do it.
  22. Cal is a team full of hacks, they are lucky the refs put their whistles away for a few min to make this game not a blowout.
  23. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 11:48 AM) Wow. Look at the assumptions and accusations you're throwing around in this thread. Now Alexei might not even be as young as he says is... And apparently there arent any secrets to being a HOF SS.
