  1. gameday shows both pitch 1 and 3 as within the strike zone laz diaz is a terrible umpire and ive thought that for a few years
  2. carter now with 9Ks in 6 IP....his K rate has been awesome and i have to think hes ready for the next level
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 07:50 PM) The Mariners have 3 of the best starters in baseball this year, but jeez, their offense is awful! imagine what they would be if they hadn't gotten the ridiculous year from branyan so far
  4. i know its not the right thread but dexter carter is having a nice start again...5 IP 4 H 1 BB and 6 K with 0R

    Obama.

QUOTE (SmashROT @ Jul 15, 2009 -> 07:22 AM) Give me a break. Do you really think that Cardinal fans would even remotely be thinking during politics their shining moment? It was in the midst of the introductions of the greatest Cardinal players of all time, community allstars, and the righteous hometown steroid free savior of baseball today. The last thing on their minds was, and should have been, politics. Last night was about baseball, plain and simple. A healthy boo from an anti-Chicago baseball city is all in good fun. i was at the game wearing a sox jersey and i can say im 99% sure that the people who booed did so for political reasons. on the jumbo tron obama gave a message...most people cheered, but some booed.....then out of nowhere the place erupted in cheer when George W. came on the jumbotron to give his message. of course a few booed, but by far the loudest applause of any ex-president was for W.....also the cardinals fans were very cordial to me, many wished the sox well in the rest of their season...as someone who was at the game i have to say im pretty sure any booing at obama was politically motivated...you have to remember st louis is in a pretty conservative area, especially when you consider not many low income poor folks attend the allstar game
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 05:42 AM) She has gotten kind of chunky since I saw her in the Olympics. She's still a cute girl and I'm not putting her down. Maybe muscle. this is well stated....shes cute...not hot IMO...cute face, but she has a stumpy body that i assume is from muscle... my girlfriend watched dancing with the stars and her body was similarly shaped then as well...cute girl, but far from lisa dergan
  8. i've always liked teahen...he's not great defensively but he certainly has experience all over the diamond (corner OF, 1b, 3b, 2b)....plus he's right in his prime and is still relatively cheap with 1 year of arb left....i think he underperformed his ability last year and I honestly think he's closer to the .350 obp with 20 HR type guy he has been this year
  9. QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 11:09 PM) Man, the Twins hall of fame is easier to get into then Arizona State. homer simpson, in heaven?!?
  10. im a huge tyler flowers fan.....305/.449/.556 is ridiculous...AJ has been way better than I expected this year, but I think after just a year or so in the bigs flowers will be getting on base at a higher clip and hitting the ball for more power.
  11. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:51 PM) although i would agree that ozzie should have called the ibb, but shouldnt there be blame put on aj for calling a fastball right down the middle on a 2-0 count??(maybe it was discussed but dont feel like looking) catchers dont call for fastballs right down the middle....
  12. we have a 24.7% chance to extend this one more batter
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) This is such a typical collapse at this f***ing stadium. you were spot on abotu that cuddyer catch...twins defense was the difference in this game....
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:36 PM) Except you, I, Ozzie, and everyone else in the world know that Jenks is not good in non-save situations. i will admit specifically lately, he hasn't been....but i honestly think its more of a fluky thing and not something likely to continue for his career...especially coming in a 1 run game the mindset is still "get three outs"....in a 8 run blowout i can understand it more i suppose
  15. at some point we have to start thinking about castro as a late inning replacement for AJ....even if AJ had no shot there....
  16. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:34 PM) Jenks? Why? WHY!?!?! cuz our pen was abused yesterday, jenks needs work and jenks should still be able to get outs even if its a non save situation
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:33 PM) I love Oz, but he isn't afraid to call out players. The media or Oz himself should call himself out tonight for the Mauer decision. True the leadoff walk predictably killed us; but Oz should at least reprimand himself as well. This season that's like letting Pujols beat ya. its all on ozzie....everyone knows when you go to the mound to ask a pitcher who he wants, he is never going to give in. thats the attitude players need to have...managers need to have a smart enough brain to tell those pitchers you will walk him here, and not ask them who they want
  18. credit gardenhire for stealing 3rd.....IMO that took the "intentionaly unintentional" walk out of play as a past ball resulted in a run....still all we had to do was f***ing intentionally walk the best player in the AL JESUS f***ING CHRIST OZZIE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i am still steaming mad
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:26 PM) Only thing I can think of is their individual numbers against Thornton....anyone know what they were? 4 for 17 for mauer, 3 for 18 for morneau
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:26 PM) If this weekend goes bad, Hawk will never end with the criticism of that move. god we fail to intentionally walk guys more than any other team in the majors...i'll never forget us pitching to miguel cabrera with men on 2nd and 3rd and 2 outs last year against detroit
  21. once it goes to 2-0 YOU HAVE TO WALK HIM! YOU CANNOT GROOVE A f***ING FASTBALL TO HIM
