  1. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 09:21 PM) How good did he look? I still haven't seen him pitch, and need to. well im biased since i was at vandy when he was there and saw him pitch just about every home start and a handful of others that he starter....but he's filthy..randy johnson-esque slider....sits mid 90s usually and can run it up to high 90s....has a change that he rarely uses and a curve ball that i saw him throw maybe only 10 times ever, but he can at least show it to hitters
  2. yeah slider that moves that much at 88mph from price? good luck next time kubel
  3. would love to see price come in and blow mauer and morneau away at some point in this game
  4. dick hardon with 30 pitches already and only 1 out and 1 run already in .....3 walks
  5. 9 twins lose, tampa wins....pretty good night...too bad we didnt hold on...

  10. QUOTE (scenario @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 09:26 PM) Sidenote: Freddy G. threw 5 innings of shutout ball in a start against Texas tonight. he gave up an unearned run...but yeah thats cool...good for freddy...i always liked him...guy had some enormous stones
  11. tom mastny warming in the bullpen ...the twins are trembling
  12. my team is pretty solid....but i need some help this week in who to start....its a 12 team PPR (1/2 point per catch) league, start 2 of the 4 RBs Reggie Bush vs. Den ....i think hes a must start, with colston out, this game should be a shoot out Matt Forte vs. Tampa ....tough D, i loved how many carries and catches hes had, especially last week, kevin jones was nowhere to be found, but im worried the bears will try to lighten the kids load....that said part of me thinks angelo and lovie really want to feature this guy to make up for the cedric fiasco Kevin Smith vs. 49ers...He's been quiet, but somewhat effective in the first 2 weeks and part of me really thinks he's ready to have a huge game this week Darren McFadden vs. Bills - loved him last week, especially when Fargas went out, but the fact that Bush got so many carries worries me, as does his turf toe i think im going bush and forte (those goal line carries cant keep going to mckie all year) but i like the other two guys too...anyone have any reasoning to go a different route?
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 08:37 PM) I believe they said Perez and Lewis aren't available. i guess not
  14. kelly shoppach after the all star break....295/.381/.633 with 14 bombs
  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 09:02 PM) gameday is woefully behind -- what happened? back to back doubles by peralta and victor...6-4 indians..
  16. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) C'mon Victor...base hit ask and ye shall receive
  17. QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 09:58 PM) Thank you Delmon Young. he had no shot at that, but he coulda held peralta to a single
  18. choo has been watching too much nick swisher video
  19. even if the bunt is executed perfectly...its effectiveness is debatable (though this late in the game its generally OK to bunt) but nontheless...why is it so damn hard for major leaguers to bunt
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 09:44 PM) Linebrink-injured Dotel-gassed Jenks-struggling Logan-gascan Wasserman-blows Ramirez-blows even more Broadway-blows more than Ramirez MacDougal-strikes will always be a problem Thornton-doing OK but can't pitch every game This is the problem. im just praying that if we make it to the playoffs that our starters can give us 6-7 each outing, then thornton for 1+ and jenks for 1+ basically in every game...and maybe dotel will get lucky when ozzie inevitably brings him in
  21. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 09:45 PM) Poreda should be up. This should be all hands on deck time. He has only one pitch, but its a plus pitch with sink on it. Which is better than the arsonists we have been throwing out there lately. agreed....thornton has basically one pitch...granted its the same mid 90s heater from the left side that poreda has, but s*** ehren wasserman has 1 pitch and its 86 mph from the right side!
  22. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 09:44 PM) Why? Are middle relievers known to get hurt after pitching lights out for 4 months? If Linebrink doesn't go down, and pitches even 3/4 of what he was early on, we'd have a big lead in the division now. yeah because middle relievers are notoriously fickle....
  23. i hate the fact that we dont even have good arms to run out there from our system....all of these other teams, the guys they bring up...i feel like most teams have guys who at least have good stuff...they may not be good pitchers, but they at least have good stuff....out minor league system has been so pathetic its sad..and i think it has to do with dave wilder and co. more than people think
