  1. lots of respect for Giants after watching their post game interviews. All those guys were extremely classy and appropriate.
  2. Thibs with no hesitation to get Mirotic and McDermott in there
  3. cutler bailed on his radio show today. Instead Kyle long was on the air and apologized for his words. Polar opposites as people. Cutler is such a classless f***. I'm so sick of him.
  4. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 9, 2014 -> 02:03 PM) I've been hearing the name Carson Fullmer a lot recently in the Baseball America and Fangraphs podcasts. Sounds like he has the most electric stuff of the draft so far. The problem seems to be that he is shorter, 5'11", and sometimes has command issues. Some people think this may lead to him being an elite closer instead of #2 starter. Sounds like he has a plus-FB, plus-curveball-, developing change-up. And a fun piece of trivia, he is from Lakeland, FL, just like Sale. Fullmer is expected to be a top 15 or top 10 pick.
  5. on the fake spike, lacy never set. Shoulda been false start, 10 second run off and game over
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 9, 2014 -> 09:24 PM) JJ Watt is good everybody. I think he's the best defensive player I've ever seen. I'm a touch too young to remember LT, but only other candidates off the top of my head are Ray lewis, Reggie white, maybe champ bailey
  7. not worried about it in the slightest
  8. i was able to go in 2012 at medinah when I was living in Chicago. Really cool experience, however it's very hard to actually see more than a handful of holes and you don't really know what's going on in the greater picture of the match. I'm only about 70 miles away from Chaska and am considering getting tickets for 2016. I just like watching the event on tv so much, I may only consider going on Friday
  9. QUOTE (lord chas @ Sep 28, 2014 -> 08:40 AM) Fowler getting thumped Ran into a buzz saw. Rory played incredibly well. 0 mistakes. Spieth really choked away his match against gmac after playing really well all weekend. And previously stated, 8.5 is just too tall an order. Not sure why the us plays so bad in foursomes
  10. QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 27, 2014 -> 05:12 AM) If the Americans can split, or somehow take 2.5 pts in the morning fourball, it would have to feel pretty good for Watson considering how well Rose and McIlroy have played. Just a horrendous afternoon for the Americans. I know we've seen two 10-6 comebacks in the last 15 years, but it's essentially academic at this point

  12. at this point, there's no way Watson marches Webb out for the afternoon, given how he's played this morning and recently. Will be interesting to see if he sits Bubba too. The rookies are en fuego, I'd like to see them in foursomes this afternoon, especially given that they will have only played 2/3rds of a round in the morning
  13. actually my post above is a mistake, its fourball in the morning, foursomes in teh afternoon. I like that much better
  14. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 25, 2014 -> 01:30 PM) Friday AM four-ball pairings: 1) Simpson/Watson vs Rose/Stenson 2) Fowler/Walker vs Bjorn/Kaymer 3) Reed/Speith vs Gallacher/Poulter 4) Bradley/Mickelson vs Garcia/McIlroy Not playing: Furyk, Johnson, Kuchar, Mahan, Donaldson, Dubuisson, McDowell, Westwood after thinking about this whole thing more, im not so convinced that its a slam dunk for the europeans....average world rank of US team is 16, average for european team is 20 Obviously McIlroy will be favored in any matchup he is in, but eventually Ian Poulter will start playing like Ian Poulter at every other non-ryder cup event. Rose/Stenson is certainly tough, but itll depend on which Bubba shows up. Its very interesting to me that Watson is saving his more consistent, conservative players (Johnson, Furyk, Kuchar) for fourball, and has his "wild cards" who can get hot in foursomes (Phil, Fowler, Bubba, Bradley - though in fairness those four will probably play the afternoon too). I wonder how much he will mix the pairings up for the afternoon session.
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 24, 2014 -> 07:46 PM) I'll watch, but I can't say I'm expecting much from the US team this time. Hopefully it's close going into singles on Sunday morning. Yeah, the Europeans are heavy favorites for sure. Even with a U.S. team fully healthy we would be underdogs. Who knows what till happen though, always seems like the best players don't always play the best in match play
  16. super excited for the Ryder cup - one of the best events in all of sports
  17. any pass Rush has come from the tackles. Nothing from the d ends
  18. I'm eating some big time crow in this Seattle game. Would be really great if every NFC north team loses, plus saints, falcons, Seahawks all lose Would be a huge day for bears if they get the above plus a win/49ers loss
  19. QUOTE (kevo880 @ Sep 10, 2014 -> 11:56 AM) Awesome, appreciate all of that info. I would love to go golfing there, but i think i would feel too guilty going on our honymoon unless i send her to a spa or something that morning. I will definitely have to grab that book in the near future. We have considered the road to Hana and Haleakala sunrise but haven't totally decided if we are going to do those yet. I agree with you that I want to make sure we take time to just enjoy being in paradise instead of traveling a lot of the time. Has anyone done a helicopter ride there? I've heard it's really cool, but not sure it is worth it. We did one in Kauai, which was awesome, in large part because the Na Pali coast is otherwise difficult to get to. It's expensive and a bit nerve wracking, but where else in the world would you rather go on a helicopter ride? Really depends on your budget. Hawaii is extremely expensive and a 2 person hour long (give or take) helicopter ride is ~ 700 bucks, so certainly an easy way to eat into your budget. We didn't do the open air, door open tour, but I sort of wish we had.
  20. QUOTE (kevo880 @ Sep 9, 2014 -> 01:43 PM) I am getting married in about 6 weeks and will be honeymooning in Maui for a week. We will be renting a Wrangler for the duration of our stay. We know that is unnecessary, but we registered to allow people to pay for us to do certain things on our honeymoon and pitching in towards renting a vehicle is one of them. Getting to the point, we will have pretty easy access to the whole island and we are staying in Kahana on the NW side of the island. Any suggestions on things that we should do that might not be listed on every tourist website? Any recommendations are appreciated! http://www.amazon.com/Maui-Revealed-The-Ul...k/dp/0983888736 This book has boatloads of information that I really liked. It's pretty well known and ppl refer to it as the blue book. Went to Maui/Kauai for our honeymoon last year. To be honest, we did much of the tourist stuff, but it was by far the most amazing trip I could imagine. Given the jet lag I figured we would do Haleakala sunrise the first morning. It was neat, sort of, but it takes way too much time and is crowded. I wouldn't do it again if I went back. Did the road to Hana clockwise. Worth doing, but again it takes the entire day, not sure I'd do it again, but if I did I would consider counterclockwise (back country first) to hike early at the 7 pools before it's crowded. The above book mentions tons of great falls and hikes that are very secluded along the road to Hana. I'd highly recommend checking them out. I also played golf at Wailea gold, which was amazing. Wanted to play plantation but it was closed for maintenance. Nicks fishmarket in the fairmont kea lani was one the greatest meals I've ever had. Mamas fish house is another tourist trap but is phenomenal atmosphere and food, and definitely worth going to. We also did a sunset booze cruise which was just ok quality food/drink and service, but you don't really care because it's so beautiful. Gotta go eat somewhere in Lahina as we'll. The truth of the matter is you are going to a place with some of the greatest beaches and resorts in the world. There are dozens of day trips you can do there, but you have to ask yourself do you want to spend half your day in the car on road to Hana, Haleakala etc. instead of bumming at a nearby beach, or going on somewhere a bit closer.
  21. Wait, you guys mean to tell me you expected the Rice video to be something more benign than that? We knew he knocked her unconscious. Yes it's a bit shocking to see the actually violence, but this is exactly what I thought happened in the elevator. Still shoud have been a longer suspension based on the first video. My guess is goddell will use the new video as a reason to correct his mistake, which is good, I just can't believe that anyone would have expected the video to have shown anything different based on what we already knew (ie his wife being colmpletely knocked out cold by a punch.) Don't get me wrong, rice is a huge scumbag, I guess I'm just surprised that so many people thought the elevator video would show something different and are now shocked by this.
  22. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 7, 2014 -> 03:34 PM) Tucker clueless still he needs canned. Seriously, the guy didn't even have a pedigree before coming to Chicago. Was with Jax, and Cle before, didn't exactly light the world on fire. That said, This loss is on Jay, can't turn the ball over like that. He could have had at least 4 picks and almost certainly should have 3 at minimum.
  23. yeah, ok 10% is probably generous, as a 10-1 bet is dumb. I get the compounding probabilities of any team winning 16 games is incredbily low, so for me to have said 10-20% is stupid. I just think this seattle team is just really, really, really good. I stand by my conviction that the chiefs, rams, cardinals and panthers are all in line for a regression though. Chiefs were a 2-14 team 2 years ago that had a cupcake schedule last year and beat 10 non-playoff teams. I do think a road game at StL is an easy win for this seattle team. in regards to SF being easy favorites at home - an early spread that i saw is SF -0.5, so essentially a pick em game
  24. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 10:42 PM) Did the NFL move their 8 road games to Seattle? their road games: Easy Wins: @Was, @StL, @KC, Should Win: @Car Will Be Favored: @Phi, @Ari, @SD Toss Up: @SF Their more difficult road games feature multiple teams who are primed to/look as if they will take a step back this year (Ari, SF, Car, arguably SD and Phi too). I dont mean to say that I think they will go undefeated, or even that they have over a 50% chance of doing so. I do however, think theres ~10-20% chance of them going undefeated, which thus makes it a real possibility
