  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2012 -> 08:45 PM) Hawk completely cursed this defense. Not only that, Konerko was like an inch from touching first and didn't do it. looked like last sec he realized he wasnt gonna get the runner at the plate and tried to step on 1
  2. tigers lose... edit: or did i mishear hawk? didnt he say it was called?
  3. crap pedroia first pitch GIDP - verlander was at 93 pitches through 3.1, now 94 through 4 - still alot though
  4. feels like blackburn is going to put it together today and do something like 7 IP 1 ER
  5. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 29, 2012 -> 07:08 PM) did this feed drop out for anyone else? nevermind, working now - oh and this time it reloaded with hawk and stoney, not texas announcers
  6. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jul 29, 2012 -> 06:29 PM) You can watch the game here & its pretty good quality http://www.vipbox.tv/watch/63129/1/texas-r...eam-online.html did this feed drop out for anyone else?
  7. ugh this is so frustrating....game is blacked out on mlbtv - stupid contract that says anything starting after 5 pm ET on sunday is blacked out. the language should just be that the goddamn sunday night ESPN game is the one that gets blacked out. why the f*** is this game on so late in the first place?
  8. if we deal gavin, it better be for something/someone big. We dont need to trim payroll, we are set at most positions. I don't really see a need to trade Gavin unless it's for something that will wow us
  9. looking at leagues numbers over the years, it's shocking how few bats the guy misses considering his stuff.
  10. So Castro is young and all, but he has a .308 obp. I would imagine that the vast majority of those across baseball would rather have him than viciedo, but I'm not sure that there is much difference
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2012 -> 01:53 PM) Where's PTAC with the recovery schedule if there is a surgery on a partially torn labrum? Rauch had this, Santana (I think), Halladay going through it this year but no surgery. They've told him that he can't make it worse but he doesn't seem to want to push through it or pitch with anything resembling abnormal pain. Well, unless you're in his shoes, u can't know what it feels like, but he's got a guaranteed contract for 5 years so you'd think he would be showing more desire to come back and help us since he's only seen a pennant race in 2008 and 2010. I thought danks has a rotator cuff injury, not a torn labrum? Big difference in the two
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2012 -> 02:51 PM) And will only be used for defensive purposes, so it's not a big deal So, someone has to be sent down to make room if Olmedo comes up. Septimo I assume? Maybe santiago
  13. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jul 29, 2012 -> 12:30 AM) So Mr. Floyd, it seems you're going to be the next hot topic round these here parts... I disagree. I don't think Floyd goes anywhere. Best thing to do now is upgrade the bench
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 11:11 PM) Multiple sources now, saying Sox announced it. I think its real. Fantastic move for value, Hernandez was likely not anything special, and Escobar is a utility guy. Awesome. Great week for the Sox. On its real. The sox official twitter is the one who released it. Tells you how KW operates. Not a single twitter rumor, not a single reporter, not a single message board insider
  15. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 11:08 PM) Escobar is such a Twins' type player. Yep. As is Hernandez
  16. So does humber go to pen? Back to a 6 man rotation with rest for sale/q? That's my guess
  17. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 28, 2012 -> 10:02 PM) http://twitter.com/whitesox/status/229411014981079040 Wow. Great move. Thanks for the help today escobar
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 27, 2012 -> 09:47 PM) Good thing we went out and got Myers...oops Just came into the thread to say this exact thing
  19. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jul 27, 2012 -> 04:33 PM) I wonder what other bulllpen guy, KW is going after.. I'd guess Brandon League or Darren Oliver Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi #WhiteSox haven’t ruled out possibility of adding another reliever, even after getting Brett Myers. Gotta be a lefty IMO. RVs use of Santiago shows he doesn't trust him (and he shouldn't trust hector at this point), and all those appearances seem to be taking some toll on thronton
  20. reed + 2 of anything else from the minors is perfectly fine by me.
  21. there was absolutely no reason for KW to be inquiring about ichiro unless he thought there was a chance of moving one of the OFers, so I'm guessing the deal would probably focus on viciedo or de aza. using the same logic, maybe the myers acquisition was to give them the option of dealing Reed. Id love to see greinke here. A playoff rotation of sale, peavy, greinke, quintana would be huge. If we dont win the division, the wild card situation will also be interesting this year - we have a great shot to at least make it to the play-in game (or at least a play-in to the play-in!). Assuming the tigers win the central, yankees the east, and the rangers the west, id imagine the angels will get 1 WC. I can't see the O's, jays, or tribe being there in the end. The Bosox have a ridiculously hard schedule left. That leaves the Rays and athletics as the teams we'd be competing against for final WC, and id like our chances there
  22. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 03:15 PM) It's 100 degrees out. We are up 6. There's an off day tomorrow. Jake is over 100 pitches. This better be his last hitter Not a single pitcher up in the pen. You kidding me robin/coop?
