  1. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) Anybody remember who Manuel let pitch in Yankee stadium instead of Buehrle? Cotts
  2. Man Escobar is really smooth in the field
  3. piece is among the most overrated establishments in the entire city. Best pizza i had there i'd classify as slightly above average, but people act like its the most unreal place theyve ever eaten. Ive had some truly awful pizzas from there (something with mashed potatoes and broccoli - tasted so bad im shocked anyone would serve it), most are decent, nothing more though. Want to get some recognition for your restaurant? open it up in hipster central wicker park with a clever nickname and a peace sign as your logo and serve your own beer - the food barely matters at that point btw in general both new york and chicago pizza are awesome go sox
  4. i know he hasnt been good this year, but we just added a guy with a .388 career OBP into our lineup for hudson/morel i f***ing love this deal
  5. between Dunn Youk Pk and de aza we have 4 guys who will see a lot of pitches. And then there's AJ tank and Alexei
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:29 PM) Though thinking about it, I wonder if a Hudson DFA and recall of Dan Johnson or Connor Jackson is going to happen. Without Lilli or Fuko, that leaves us pretty light in the OF. Great point
  7. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 04:20 PM) Ouch, for some reason that hurts a little more now that Lilli is involved... We better not be on the hook for any $$$ Well robin didnt seem to have the same love for Brent that Ozzie did, and it seems like the org is high on jordanks and escobar
  8. de aza beckham Dunn konerko AJ rios Youk tank ramirez. We somehow went from a team chalk full of easy outs a few months ago to a team that hardly has one now. Amazing what happens when guys play to their potential
  9. Despite being primarily an OFer with the sox, lillibridge was thought of as a + defensive SS throughout his tour in the minors. The guy is actually decently valuable, but certainly expendable
  10. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 03:54 PM) Bowden just tweeted its to the white sox. Same as that numnuts kaplan Bowden says utility and a pitcher. I'm guessing Lilly and stewart
  11. Bowden just tweeted its to the white sox. Same as that numnuts kaplan
  12. bosox beat writer saying that a clubhouse source says its to the white sox
  13. wonder if the white sox are waiting to possible use Thornton in this game first
  14. Heyman tweeting that late talks involved the white sox
  15. Bosox showing his career highlights on scoreboard. Tweets saying deal is nearing and almost complete. No details on the team
  16. viciedo has a .285 on base percentage. yes he's young and has power, but lets not act like hes a young frank thomas im not saying trade him for greinke. im just trying to say he shouldnt be untradable
  17. Lebron has been the best player in the world for a while now. Was an anomaly that he didn't have a ring prior to this....still seems cheap that he sold out to go to Miami and joined the others to finally have to get it.
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 19, 2012 -> 10:38 PM) How do you let Mario Chalmers burn you this badly? Thunders perimeter defense is horrid outside thabo, who has to spend the entire game chasing around Lebron or wade. Its disappointing to see two teams with SO much talent that dont know how to use it to make the team greater than sum of their parts.
  19. Westbrook is absurdly good. He's really the only comparable player in the league style wise to D-Rose. I agree with J4L in a sense, that superficial theres not a huge difference between the two. However, I suspect if you swapped the two - the Thunder with Rose would have roughly the same record as they do now. The difference is the Bulls with Westbrook IMO have roughly 5-7 fewer wins Watching the Thunder play - its crazy how much easier Westbrook is able to break the defense down and get into the lane, vs Rose. And it has nothign to do with the talent and every bit with how defenses have to respect the Thunders other scorers. Westbrook has to beat his own man, and almost always has an easy path to the lane. Rose is double teamed essentially the second he steps over the half court line
  20. in all seriousness, he looked like a veteran last night. the kid definitely knows how to pitch, and doesn't make many mistakes over the middle of the plate He reminds me of a twins pitcher of the 2000s - stuff is not overwhealming, but was able to locate fastball, change and slider yesterday. Gonna be tough to maintain IMO, but he can definitely be a solid 5th starter in the bigs for a few years, which is something that fetches about 5-6 mil per on the FA market
  21. exact same situation for quintana there as wainwright was in... wainwright got beaten on the fastball without using his best pitch (curveball)....quintana got out of it by getting the guy to swing at ball 1, and then forced him to swing at the slider...nice
  22. thankfully, a horrible mistake from wainwright. 3 straight fastballs to Odog with the pitcher up next and 2 outs? seems like an NL veteran should know better than that. btw i hate NL baseball
  23. i have absolutely 0 ideas as to how, but the third base situation must be rectified
  24. im unable to watch - any chance this gets overturned?
