QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 02:46 PM) Wouldn't they have immobilized the knee? not necessarily. with an ACL tear, most people are still usually able to walk on it. Its just that the knee is unstable - they encourage early movement to help keep inflammation down - I believe . like i said this is all speculation, but I just dont like the looks of it
-
heres what little about this i know - when rose came down, his knee bent medially - could be a sprain of the MCL or more worriesome - could be the ACL.... while examining Rose, the last thing the trainer did was test roses knee for an ACL tear - what is known as the anterior drawer sign ....hard for me to say if the test was positive without actually being the one examining the knee, but looked to me like there was a bit of laxity on exam, and the fact that it was the last thing the trainer checked before they got Rose off the court, not a good sign obviously ptatc will know much more about this than I do
-
good lord rose is really pressing
-
watching a bit of youtube tape on this guy - he looks tiny, and this is playing against MAC opponents - does have solid hands and is quick for a TE, but hes not going to block anyone at the next level IMO - definitely will be a role for both he and Davis on this team
-
wonder if the bears would have gone ladarius green if he lasted 1 more pick With the exception of Jeffery, all the bears drafts picks have had a common denominator - speed - 4.58 for Rodriguez, 4.44 for hardin (says some scouts had him at 4.38), and 4.63 for Mclellin ....all very quick for TE, S, and DE respectively also all the guys with the exception of Jeffery have been "football players" ...the grinder type of guys who have a bit of a mean streak with high football IQs

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 11:47 AM) omg wtf a full back ok hes officially listed as TE
-
omg wtf a full back

just remember also, jeffery is going to consistently face the oppositions 2nd best CB with Marhsall drawing the top guy. Not sure how many teams are going to be able to stack the box against the run like they used to anymore also

3 picks left... Positions they should look at: DT - I imagine they will go with a DT at some point, just because there is little depth there (even if Idonije sees more time inside) CB - this is a spot they fortified pretty heavily in FA (Wilhite, Hayden, resigning Jennings), but they still have no youth there TE - Orson Charles (35 bench press reps, and monster competitor, but undersized), and Ladarious Green (4.53 40 for a 6-6 TE is super quick) are both extremely intriguing especially this late. Lets be honest about kellen Davis - hes not a long term answer OT/OG - at this point, they likely aren't going to get anyone that will start, but depth never hurts (while the bears aren't above average at any position on the line - there is actual depth there despite what many people think. Carimi, Spencer, Garza, C Williams, Webb starting, with 3 experienced guys behind them in Rachal, Louis, and E Williams - not saying any of those guys are answers, but should a starter get hurt, theres not a ton of drop off to the backups)

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 09:10 PM) Out all last season. Big and fast. Ran a 4.44 at pro day per nfl network, 4.46 per espn. ( lightning quick for safety) Wasnt invited to combine. Was mayocks 7th safety overall, ranked 134 overall by espn but taken at 79. Probably coulda gotten him later but seems like a guy they must have liked. Safety definitely was a Huge need for this team
-
Hardin safety from Oregon state
-
Will bears take massie? Lots of mocks had him as a late riser hitting the 1st round recently
-
I like it. Huge boom bust potential, but certainly a guy who can go up and get it like cutler likes. Let's hope he's in shape

It's jeffery

just got done watching just about every down from Mclellin from 2011 on youtube (the videos are quite nice for alot of draft picks - watched some of mercillus and jones as well...obviously its just the TV angles though)....after watching the tape, 1 concern of mine yesterday has been answered a little bit.... I was worried that this guy was coming from a 3-4, and most teams that liked him were 3-4 teams. After watching the tape, I think the kid plays best when is hand is on the ground...forces him to keep his pad level low. When he was lined up outside in the 3-4, he had a tendency to get high, and had a tough time fighting off blocks. but in the 4-3 out of a 3 point stance the kid has an unreal motor and really gets upfield. IMO though, this kid is not going to be much of a run defender if he doesnt add bulk. but he definitely looks like the type who is going to get upfield and get after the QB. wouldn't surprise me eventually if the bears have to move peppers to left end and this guy at right end.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 10:16 PM) took this from the talk bears board 2008: Drafted to play LT. Obviously injured. Fell behind the power curve for the rest of the season. 2009: Was slotted to play LT, but got moved to RT for 11 games when the Bears got Pace. Note the words, "flip-flop positions." Then finished up strong the last five games of at LT after Pace sucked. Game 1 - Chris Long, 3 tackles, 0 sacks. Game 2 - Clay Matthews, 5 tackles, 1 sack, multiple penalties (his one bad game) Game 3 - No DE did well, and only 1 sack was given up (Kelly Gregg, a NT) Game 4 - Jared Allen, 2 tackles, no sacks. Game 5 - Cliff Avril, 2 tackles, 1 sack 2010: Started the first two games at LT, did well. Then injured his hamstring. And instead of keeping him at the position he was drafted for, suited for, and starting in, when he returned from injury Tice moved him to LG because he needed Williams, who was probably the Bears best OLineman, to substitute for Garza (who was injured). And to pour salt in the wound, Tice thought the best starting five included Omiyale at LT. This can't be stressed enough. Williams did not lose the LT spot. Tice made a bad decision because he was worried about replacing Garza at LG. Instead of keeping Williams at LT and finding someone to replace Garza, he went the other way. He finished the season at LG (11 games). 2011: Started nine games at LG, got injured vs. the Lions, got placed on IR. Never given a chance at LT. To recap... 2008 - Injured 2009 - Got screwed because of the Pace signing, ended up replacing Pace 2010 - Started LT, got injured, then got screwed because he was versatile and Garza was injured 2011 - Never given a shot at LT while Webb sucked ass --------- I'd like to see the bears take the best available OL in the 2nd round if the draft a tackle you keep Williams at guard, if they draft a guard you move CW to tackle, if they draft a center move garza to guard and CW to OT Really hoping Zeitler is there and the Oline next year is Williams-Louis-Garza-Zeitler-Carimi Zeitler got taken 27th to the bengals
-
well the bears draft 18th in the second round... Options that I like that are remaining Cordy Glenn, Mike Adams, Jonathon Martin, Bobby Massie, Coby Fleener, Orson Charles, Stephen Hill, Rueben Randle, Alshon Jeffery, Jerel Worthy, Jeff Allen thats 11 guys...hopefully a couple will still be there at 18

what a draft for the patriots...they get chandler jones and dont'a hightower

emery praising mclellins ability to play ST. ST! wonderful

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 09:07 PM) Well I guess they believe their bs about the line magically getting better on it's own. Cutler is going to die this year with our line. A team run by an accountant where the coach has more power than the GM tells me another all defensive draft with overdrafts. im ok with them not taking an O lineman - its possible they view Reiff as a RT and not a LT (probably accurately as well)...and frankly Carimi is pretty locked in there now. DeCastro would have been an OK pick, but some teams just won't take a guard that high. It was clear they wanted a DE, but i can't help but feel like we got one that would have been there 10 picks later, with a couple better DEs still on the board
-
mclellin had the fewest amount of bench press reps of any DE at the combine did have the 2nd fastest 40 time - which means dick for a linemen...hopefully his first 10 yard split was legit
-
patriots never trade up, and they just did. Tells you this board is stacked right now, and the bears completely f***ed it up IMO
-
so the bears overdraft a guy who doesnt play out scheme? nice
-
there were like 6-7 guys i liked that i woudl have been happy if the bears took....they passed on all of them
