  1. according to ESPNs playoff odds - we have the highest % chance of making the playoffs of ANY TEAM IN THE LEAGUE thats unreal - speaks more to the division than anything else i suppose
  2. someone needs to explain to me how that was not a technical for hanging on the rim...and please dont try to explain that he was avoiding rondo
  3. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Jun 7, 2012 -> 06:11 PM) Already they sent jorDAn Dunks back to aaa? if ozzie was the coach still hed be starting and batting leadoff probably

not sure why jordan danks doesn't get more credit on this board....has a double and a walk today. His obp is over .400 and OPS near .900. I know everyone hates the K's, but hes cut them down a bit, and as long as he is walking im ok with it. not sure how is defense has progressed, but I know he was a + defender at one point as well
  5. such a fantastic time in baseball right now - sox playing well hitting everything, crushing 1st place team. Cubs on verge of losing 12th straight in all sorts of embarassing ways (shut out with 10 hits, walk off HBPs, 10-0 - swept by ASTROS AND PIRATES). hell even my vanderbilt commodores are playin real ball this last 10 days or so has been close to as fun as that 14 game stretch in 2000 where we played 7 against Cle and 7 against NYY and went like 11-3 including 7-0 on the road
  6. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 26, 2012 -> 06:47 PM) Wait until you see highlights of vandy vs Florida. Vandy 5 runs in top of 9th including 6 steals 3 of them being on a triple steal And there was a 7th SB that was called out, but replays showed was safe. And it was against the best catcher in the country
  7. Jon Garland in 8 years with Sox was 92-81 with a 4.41 ERA. Kerry Wood in 12 years with Cubs was 80-68 with a 3.67 ERA adjust for league factor in the ERA, and they are not a whole lot different. Wood struck out 20. Garland won a world series. Crazy how differently the two pitchers had been perceived. I can't imagine #20 will be retired by the sox anytime soon

thank god the congress bridge is open just in time for this mess...
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 10, 2012 -> 08:51 PM) They aren't going to call that in that situation, but why Asik? Thats about as obvious a flagrant 1 as there is. If you it's in the rule book you have to call it
  10. what stats/metrics do people use for offensive linemen. I know there are some good ones out there, but i am just wondering. I remember reading comments that before chris williams went down he graded out as one of the best run blocking guards in the league (which seems hard for me to believe since he was regarded at a "finesse tackle" before moving inside). I also know before he left kreutz was among the lowest graded centers in the league. i mean obviously we have the advantage of having watched essentially every down this year, but i obviously dont have the capability of breaking plays down for the guards and centers like the experts do. Im just curious to see what it says about our guys to assess mainly how the interior lineman played. I suspect Garza will grade out well, as I know he has in the past. In addition, despite the poor pass protection (esp from the tackles) we clearly did something right with our run blocking.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2012 -> 11:52 AM) Shack it is more that it's frustrating Lilly isn't playing more vs LHP i just hope robin realizes that he was the vast exception to the rule that guys who go 0-41 at any point in their big league career are typically not good baseball players. Hopefully he's not letting his own personal experience of struggling as a young player to cloud his judgement on Morel and beckham (morel more so than beckham - christ at least beckham has been decent for longer than 2 weeks in the bigs - morel has been absolutely abysmal for 95% of his big league time)
  12. we stink at home because 1.) we are not a good team, and 2.) we are a team that is not built for our stadium (pitching and defense oriented, in a hitters ballpark)
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 08:42 PM) Stras is on the mound, too. and matt kemp is playing
  14. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 06:54 PM)
  15. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 04:11 PM) Torn ACL and MCL for Rose not surprised, but whered you hear this?
  16. knicks are such a spineless team....theyve completely given up
  17. i love that at least van gundy calls these f***ing refs out
  18. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 03:56 PM) They could have a flop rule like in soccer when a dude clearly flops in the box its a yellow card. Except in the nba they can issue a technical foul on a clear flop. im almost positive this was actually a rule that was supposed to be instituted last year or the year prior. I think it was actually put in the rule books, just the refs never call it
  19. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 03:53 PM) 6th round pick is Isaiah Frey, a corner from Nevada...SI had him as a preseason All American, he lead the WAC in pass break ups, sounds like a good value pick at a position of need. yeah at this point certainly nobody can really comment on these picks -only true draft experts know the draft this deep. In the 6th round you are basically just hoping the guy you take can fill out a roster spot, contribute on ST. anything more than that is a huge bonus...if he doesnt work out, oh well he was a 6th rounder
  20. for the record, miami put white sheets over the seats - i guess thats one way to white out a stadium that cant sell out
  21. lebron is such a p****
  22. KC johnson with an epic Jinx 2:32 pm and 2:33 pm
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) I know Thibs is an intense guy. But he just look defeated up there. He got really agitated when he was questioned about leaving Rose in with the game well in hand. Hopefully Goth's source is right and not just full of s***. hopefully he is correct about the part saying he should be ok - but the weight bearing part has 0 to do with it. People walk around for months on torn ACLs - if its his ACL though, i will say this - thibs and the team would know it now. The MRI is just confirmation, but they would be able to tell based on what rose says he felt and what the trainer found on exam Thibs Noah Kendall Gill and Korver all sound like their dog just died
  24. Rose is going for an MRI At best this is a sprain of the MCL - the same injury Cutler had against GB, and rose is going to be out at least a couple weeks I also was slightly wrong about the test teh trainer did - he technically did the lachman test, as opposed to the anterior drawer test - both test the same thing but one is performed with the knee at 90 degrees, the other at 20-30 anyone who still has the video of the trainer with rose can look at it - heres a video explaining the test
