golf is so good right now. In addition to tiger coming back there are just so many compelling players IMO. Can't remember a time in which I would willingly watch so many different golfers. Also my Vandy guy Brandt snedeker dominating right now

19/7 - White Sox @ Red Sox: Split to play for
daa84 replied to Joxer_Daly's topic in 2012 Season in Review
All f***ing series all Ross hit were inside fastballs. Fjcking terrible pitch selection. Keep blowing AJ hawk -
lucky play there

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 18, 2012 -> 07:32 PM) They're just getting lucky as hell. Yeah the pitch to Ross got too much of the plate, but the Ellsbury hit was just poked at and Crawford was sawed off and found a hole. Hell even the double from Ellsbury in the first is probably an out in every other park That said his stuff is certainly not overwhelming, but he hasn't been as bad as others here are saying
-
Why the f*** are you throwing Ross fastballs
-
Dang, this kid isn't pitching too bad. Getting some bad luck so far though
-
big call there

I dont hate jones - he just is what he is - erratic. He's had a 6.10 ERA in June and has a 9.0 ERA in July. guy has talent, and is the best non-reed/thornton pen arm we have right now, but im not completely ready to consistently trust him in close games late More so than anything, I think we need another dependable arm down there just so that robin doesnt continue to wear the starters down

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 08:25 PM) you mean a guy like Nate jones? jones would be great if he could get righties out
-
QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 08:23 PM) you mean a guy like Crain?? I mean a guy like crain in addition to crain

really nice outing after the 1st for phil - i really thought it was gonna be a long night for him if he can just give us what a 5th starter should, and danks can come back and pitch like a #3-4, we'll be in great shape in the rotation as hopefully we can even choose to give sale an extra days rest here and there
-
we need another dependable righty out of the pen badly IMO
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 07:52 PM) Mike trout is good in case you guys didn't know. the angels just might be the best team in the league
-
this is a huge inning for humber IMO, can't let the bosox back into this
-
really, really dumb decision to pitch anywhere near the zone with a 3 ball count of any sort
-
good god games in Bos and NYY take forever

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 09:29 PM) Rotation seems to be: Tues-Humber Wed-Hernandez Thurs-Quintana Fri-Peavy Sat-Sale Sun-Axelrod Maybe Castro wed?

Team USA struggled with brazil. Where you at now Kobe. Scottie was right, dream team beats this years squad by 25

QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 08:57 PM) How do you follow that, up with this? We're in first place with all those things that you mentioned...we've got a bullpen with 8 rookies and 1 vet, a patchwork starting rotation with 3 of our SP from April currently on the shelf......and we don't have organizational depth?!?!? How many teams could remain in first place given the injuries we've sustained. You guys kills me after losses. We've squeezed by up til this point. Don't confuse number of rookies on a roster for organizational depth. Do you think the bullpen status quo can hold on to win the division and win series in the playoffs? I don't. You are correct though, I should have clarified and said that the org depth hasnt yet hurt us too much, as we've gotten lucky (IMO) so far and been able to use smoke and mirrors to get by. I'm just not confident with it moving forward
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 08:42 PM) One thing we can all agree on is that KW needs to act now about the bullpen, as he can't sit around until the deadline and hope the inexperienced bullpen survive during a very tough stretch of games. Especially given the starting pitching injuries, the bullpen is going to be used a lot. No doubt about it. Our lack of organizational depth has really hurt us this year, especially recently as the pitching staff is as banged up as it has been in a long time. I can't remember the last time we had 2 starters miss as much time as danks and number, plus Floyd, sale and peach have all been skipped over for soreness. Add in that crain has been hurt and we just don't have the arms right now. Frankly pulling Quintana out of nowhere has been an enormous savior, and I guarantee the org didn't expect this from him

Latroy Hawkins is still n the league? Wow wtf
-
boesch HR. hwat an awful 5min
-
if no Thornton, why not Santiago there? I just don't really get it. Maybe robin doesn't like the screwball vs lefties?
-
Considering he made him the closer out of ST, it's pretty surprising to me how little faith robin has in hector Santiago

QUOTE (northside sawx @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 06:31 PM) Axlerod has no go-to out pitch when he gets to two strikes. Big problem for an MLB pitcher, especially facing this team Outside of Nate jones the same can be said for just about every rookie on the roster
