  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2009 -> 03:28 PM) That's just an awful play by Cutler. Have to value the ball more. value the ball? its not like he tried to thread the needle....knox was wide open on a 4 yard pass....ball just slipped it looked like
  2. wtf is miami doing? first of all with 4 minutes to play at the colts 30 on 3rd and 6 they run the ball, and now down 4 they not only run the ball, but take the ENTIRE game clock off and then call a timeout with 1 second left on the play clock ...then they let the 2 minute warning run out....because they ran the ball twice miami effectively cost themselves 2 TOs and a minute and half to get 6 yards...wow
  3. maybe one of these days dye will actually get behind a ball and throw it coming forward
  4. i can see why this kid struggled with pitch counts in the minors....he's been getting ahead but has nibbled then
  5. he's struggling with command right now, but i'm impressed with the movement on Hudson's fastball
  6. just watched last weeks office - was great, felt like the old office Curb - i thought it was meh for curb, but still better than just about anything else thats on tv....
  7. just to point this out ....but Johnny Knox was taken with the extra pick we got in the cutler draft.....
  8. i love all the analysis of Cutler's facial expressions......what people don't realize is that that dumbass droopy half stoned cutler expression is light years better than it was in college...its been like this since I 2003 when i was a freshman at vandy....its funny though back in college he would be half undressed, still sweaty and have just an even dumber look on his face during press conferences....at least now he cleans up a bit.....this was from 2 years ago btw http://www.catsandbeer.com/sports/does-any...does-jay-cutler
  9. another missed holding call as briggs is tackled to the ground
  10. im clueless as to how cutler fit that ball in there...nice catch by davis
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 03:50 PM) Will someone please catch the f***ing ball johnny knox might be the best WR on the team
  12. when you blitz everyone, you must at least get to the qb and make him move around
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 20, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) As the Packers are about to fall to the Bengals, I am eliminated from my elimination pool. i was so impressed with the bears D line and the pass rush last week....now im thinking it was more just the packers Oline being horrendous
  14. things are looking tenuous for the bears, no doubt. but that said I can't believe how much the national media is overdoing their bears hate. I suspect it has to do with loving to hate a guy like Cutler, which I understand and am OK with, I just don't agree with their assessments. There are publications saying the bears will score 6 points this week, and others saying to bench Forte in fantasy. Bench the guy most people picked in the top 4 of fantasy leagues? Gimme a break, the guy had a terrible offense last year and was consistent every single week. He had a rough game last week, but I certainly expect the bears to be more committed to the run this week, and for Forte to improve on his numbers from week 1. In addition, yes cutler had 4 picks last week, but you know what else he did...he threw for 279. Orton threw for more than that only three times last year (334 vs. detroit, 286 at Atl, and 283 against MIN)...so cutler has a terrible game and still accumulated a significant number of yards without utilizing arguably his top targets in his TE and RB. No doubt, the INTs killed Cutler, but they were a career high. To assume this will be a weekly occurrence and that he won't improve from his performance is foolish IMO. The turnovers hurt, but people act like the bears did little on Offense, when in fact, they moved the ball fairly effectively. They also lost the turnover margin 5-0 (counting the fake punt) which typically leads to losses by at least 14. I certainly don't expect to remain that much in the red in TO ratio going forward. Now there is no doubt the Pitt pass rush is better than the Packers, but their secondary certainly isn't as good (especially without TroyP), so I'm going to go out on a limb and say Cutler's numbers are as follows: 19 for 31 250 yards, 2 TDs 1 INT. Now you can call me a blind optimist, but I honestly don't see the doom and gloom for this team that many media members and other fans do. Right now, do I think we are a playoff team? I honestly don't think we will be, because i think the best we are after week 3 is 1-2, and we will be 2 games back, but I still find it difficult to believe we go under 8-8 on the season, and people certainly are acting like the bears are a BAD team, which just isn't true
  15. we waited a year too late to trade jenks... i said it before the season that we should have shopped him while we could still get a good chunk in return for him...now, he will be expensive, another year closer to FA, another year older, and another year worse for any team that is looking at him...There is a perfect team to shop him to no farther than 8 miles north...but i'm not sure they have the young players we'd be looking to get in return.... at any rate i hope KW has learned that the real way to build bullpens is internally and not by signing higher priced veterans like linebrink and dotel cuz with middle relievers you end up paying for a whole lot of mediocrity, when you can typically get a whole lot of mediocrity from guys from your system
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 19, 2009 -> 09:28 AM) Since July 6, 2006, the White Sox are 17 games below .500. yeah...ozzie did win us our first WS in forever...but in addition, if we end up below .500 (which it looks like we will)...he will have managed the Sox to the only 2 below .500 teams in the last 10 years, and those 2 happened to be 2 out of the last 3 years...
  17. LOL hawk just admit that wise overran that ball...cuz thats exactly what happened...it didnt take a bad hop

  19. if i have the time i'll think hard abotu going to see the sox play in Pit though....that stadium is awesome
  20. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 07:46 PM) But then there's no point because its 4th and 6. They needed to try and actually get the first there. theres no doubt it was a dumb play, and mannelly did say so...but i understand it a bit more after listening to mannelly say what his logic was...basically if they have 12 on the field, its a free play..so snap it...and if oyu get the first down then you decline the penatly, if not you just punt on 4th and 6....it was still a really stupid play and that logic only works if you are 100% sure that there are 12 on the field, which obviously wasn't the case
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 05:40 AM) Yeah, what a girl. I mean the guy had the most yards of anyone that was on the field buy a good margin, but damn, what a girl. I mean, your unbiased opinion is so valuable its ridiculous. he was 11-25 with 0 TDs and 1 INT, and the INT was an enormous play in that game (not to mention a brutally awful read and throw)... but yeah he really tore it up...and you are right the 10 more total yards he had over barkley is a good margin ...yeah, i was probably a bit harsh on him but everything we heard going into yesterday was how much better this kid has gotten as a passer, and i certainly didn't see it....not to mention looking clueless as to what to do with 1 minute left in the game and 30 or so yards to get to give his team a chance at a FG the OSU defense deserves a ton of credit though...they bottled up the ridiculously good usc running backs for 55 minutes, and if it wasn't for pryors INT that gave USC a TD it would have looked that much better. Speaking of which, i watched that first USC TD on DVR 5 times and I don't think Johnson was actually in on 4th down. I can't believe they reviewed Herron's TD and not Johnsons. It would have been nice of ABC/ESPN (whatever it was on) to have given us another freaking angle or replay of it.
  22. i honestly think joe mckinght is the best player in college football...too bad musburger turned matt barkleys screen passes into elway vs. the browns.....barkley played slightly less s***ty than terrelle pryor who looked like a f***ing girl out there...god that was an awful awful performance from a guy who is supposed to be a legit heisman contender down the road....i hate USC with a burning passion, but the talent they get year after year is legit...without a doubt its the easiest school in the country to recruit to, but still pete carroll gets the most out of his talent, even if he is a douche amongst douches
