QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Dec 13, 2009 -> 01:44 PM) Wasn't that Aromashadu Not sure what Cutler was doing there How is that not holding on the Rogers 1st down run. Mike Cary having a bad day. ogunleye and hillenmeyer were held on that play....holding is just such a bipolar call in the nfl cuz you really can call it on every play...but the call on omiyale was less obvious to me than on that run..... now the blatant missed pass interference right there is troubling .....

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 9, 2009 -> 10:32 AM) It's interesting because coming into this season, a lot of experts had the Bulls down as the 4th or 5th seed in the East winning about 45 games as they thought the young guys would progress. And in the case of Joakin Noah, that's been right. Obviously right now the injuries to Hinrich and Thomas hurt, because the Bulls are basically playing with 6-7 effective players meaning they have no depth whatsoever. Salmons is definitely a 3, but you've got Deng there, while Gibson obviously isn't a starting caliber 4 at this point. If I'm the Bulls, in the long - term getting a top 10 pick could be a good thing in terms of adding another asset which could make it more attractive for a FA potentially. But say if I'm Dwyane Wade, I think he finds more potential in staying with Miami and getting Chris Bosh or Amare Stoudemire to come down and join him, and that would move the Heat into the real top teams in the East (and they could potentially go for another FA if they did a sign and trade with Michael Beasley which has been mooted). As for VDN, I don't rate him as a coach and put him in the bottom 5-6 in the NBA, in terms of the system that he uses and the team rules etc. that he has in place. But what coaches are out there that would replace him? Byron Scott? Lawrence Frank? Bernie Bickerstaff? Pretty slim pickings really. doug collins

QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 11:51 PM) It sounds like Kenny and Rick were in a lot of trade talks today. Something is bound to happen Wednesday. yeah today is the big day...stuff rarely happen the last day (which is tomorrow) as i think most teams end up leaving before noon even.....i would imagine that if somethign happens, it will be today

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) The Bulls wouldn't lose to NJ, would they? why in the world is salmons pulling up for a contested 3 pointer with 8 seconds left???? ugh ....im liking salmons less and less each game he plays

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 10:27 PM) I now need MLB Network if Gammons moves there. Kurkjian may be the only guy I really like on ESPN anymore for baseball coverage. chris singleton hates you too

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 08:31 PM) Not even close to the same kind of baggage. what are these horror stories youve heard? i mean ive heard hes always been a primadonna, but i haven't heard anythign that has led me to believe that he's that much worse than everett was edit: thats not to say they don't exist, i just haven't heard the god awful things that would drive me to never touch a player regardless of cost
-
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 09:06 PM) I know I often come off as heavily statistic oriented but this is one of those cases where the numbers really mean next to nothing to me, I wouldn't want him anywhere near the White Sox. i just feel like funny things like this always happen on the north side where some guys just don't fit...i'm not saying hes a great teammate or would work here, but if they cubs pay 8 of the remaining 20 mil on his deal...moving him to full time DH, in a situation where I really think he would have the added incentive of proving the cubs wrong, would be good for a guy like milton, and i think i would take the risk.....obviously im just blowing smoke here, but don't forget KW called Peavy asking him about a former teammate...everyone assumed it was Adrian Gonzalez, but you never know (however, it could have been henry blanco for that matter)
-
i'm actually really hoping the sox are the "mystery AL team" that supposedly has a deal in place for milton bradley......obps the last 4 years.....370, .402, .438, .378....id lead him off and play him at DH....probably nobody else would, but id do it

I wish i didn't have finals this week...I would love to be able to go down to champaign for the Vandy-Illini game tonight -
supposedly tampa and the rangers not involved....don't be shocked if its us....especially if KW is scared by matsui's asking price pulled this gem of the NSBB though...pretty funny...
-
i'm not as high on this deal for the tigers as most here are...while grandersons game has taken a step or two back, and they may have sold high on Edwin Jackson, those guys are both proven above average major leaguers....Edwin Jackson is only 9 months older than Schrezer and is more proven in a better league and better divisions Schlereth and phil coke are essentially the same player, so im not sure i really get that.... Austin Jacksons a nice prospect but the odds of him ever being close to as good as granderson are slim IMO

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 09:31 AM) And who would be our everyday 1B? Kotsay? i have no idea...obviously another move would have to be made...(a 3b maybe and teahen at 1b)...in no way am i saying thats what i want to see happen...but alot of the moves KW has made lately have screamed pitching and defense, and it wouldn't shock me if thats the direction KW moves in...then again, nothing with him really shocks me

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 08:25 AM) Don't the White Sox have payroll issues? Doesn't Halladay make a ton of money? Doesn't Halladay have a no trade clause? Hasn't he made it clear he wants to train in FL? Don't the White Sox train in AZ? If they have to money to upgrade to Halladay, and they wouldn't keep their current top 4 intact, they should spend it on some bullpen help and the Sox need some offense. White Sox starting pitchers were #2 in ERA in the AL last season. The offense was near the bottom. Having Quentin healthy would be a plus. Having Beckham an additional 2 months would be a plus. Having Rios hit .260 would be a plus, but not enough. Teahan, Jones, Vizquel isn't exactly an offensive upgrade from Thome, Dye, Getz even Nix. if williams somehow found a taker for Konerko (clearly very unlikely) i could easily see him pulling off a deal for halladay and just going for this thing on pitching and defense....

wow...dodgers have made some horrible moves.....8 of those 10 come from the 2 west divisions...i think that honestly emphasizes their desperate struggle to compete with the east coast teams in making "the next big splash"

LeBron acting like a clown.....I hope someone puts him on his ass one of these days. He doesn't deserve to wear 23...Jordan didn't dance and s*** like that on the floor...he had way too much respect for the game. I don't care what anyone says but Lebron is a douche amongst douches

QUOTE (G&T @ Nov 22, 2009 -> 10:39 PM) What's the record for holding calls? i dont know but this bears team has been penalized a TON....and that is on lovie
-
well at least we have a pinch bunter...though im relatively certain ozzie will try to play vizquel 3 times a week at least....while i don't agree with the strategy, at least if ozzie is going to be asking guys to bunt and hit and run etc...at least we have a guy who can actually do it, and not brent lillibridge
-
wow what a hit from Hjalmerson

just rewatched curb from sunday....god it was brilliant ....how many unbelievable characters can there be on 1 show?? Larry of course is Larry and is always exceptional, but in terms of curb cast you have Leon who IMO is the most underappreciated character on TV, Funkhouser who a great character and getting better...then add on to that the genius of Jason Alexander and all the Seinfeld characters falling right back into their old mold.....honestly it may have been my favorite curb ever
