Hey, what can I say? I act hard, I play hard. I also quote Heathers. Hard.

Well f*** me with a chainsaw, HSC, I saw the contours of a light-shaped goatee the other night, me thinks the First Coming of Popeye cannot be denied...What Aaron has done in the last 2 weeks in AAA is really trememdous if I may say so. Jimenez should be sent down at once. Thank you HSC, you've made a blind man sing.
-
Go to sleep lil' Redbird...lest I do a Black Hawk 9-year performance breakdown.
-
Ducks are the, um, 2002 Angels of NHL: there is no way they should killing people on paper, but in the 5 playoff games I've watched, including the 5-OT'er, they deffinately outplayed their more talented and experienced opponents with their heart, their goalie, their D and their teamwork...kinda like poor man's Devils of '95, but younger and quicker. Did I mention the Superman for a goalie? My Red Wings should be ashamed of themselves. f***ing Fedorov gutless, overrated, overpaid primadonna....
-
In my humble elitist opinion....best ever, just like that? WTF?????!!!!!!!!! All non-kidding aside, Murc...Best Blockbuster Flick of 2003 or Best Pretentious FX Extravaganza I could understand, I loved the first one myself....then again you are still in HS, I'll give you a pass ETA: Since I haven't seen it yet myself, who knows you may be right, lol. I certainly enjoyed the s*** out of X2...I am such a f***ing ball-busting hypocrite sometimes, lol

Speaking of Blandie Wholesome...I heard her sing a copla times, she got some pipes but she is gonna ruin her voice by the time she is 25. She is worse than Charlotte Church in that respect.

From Justin to Kelly? WTF...Spermies? Crabs? What?

"I am for the war, but against the troops" "Did you hear if you play New Kids On The Block backwards...they sound better?"

I know SNL blows sweaty donkey ass these days but.... Randy: Dawg you did your dawg thing. Paula: No one should be voted off of anything ever. Simon: I hope you get SARS

If that means dat goofy-looking, talentless poseur would go away and spares my eyes and ears from another craptacular/camperific "Mah Thuggin'"....Then again, I could always use a laugh and him and As***ty supply da funny in s***buckets. Same goes for Neo-King of Super-Pop&B...Bobby "Usher, ya stealin' all my sunshine!" Brown. For reals, yo.

Yes, but they also were very emblematic of the whole 2001-2003 charade: a cocktease, nothing more (Then again, with Rock's delivery--jerky AND across the body--, it was only a matter of time before his arm collapsed.)
-
Now, don't forget his lousy converted-SS arm, his 20-SB potential and his huge, immovable salary.... Such a very, very devilish player in other words.

I always thought the Rock had the stuff to be a closer. Remember that dominat outing he had against Cubbies at Comiskey in 2001 where he K'd 7 or 8 in 3+ innings, gave up his lone hit on a 1-2 count and was basically Pedro Lite...before his shoulder fell off? Or that 7-inning comeback in Minnesotta where he might have had a CG shutout were it not for the umpire giving the Twins 2 runs gift midway...He is the reason why I don't want to give up on Glover yet, though he is not quite as "stuff"-endowed as Rockmeister, not anymore anyway. Then again, he is healthy. I think he is doing REALLY well in EM-city- 10 saves in 11 chaces and a 3-1 record point to the fact that he is EXTREMELY clutch in tight games even if not exactly dominant. Someone like Marte has much better peripherals and ERA but his two BS were HUGE in their impact on the team early on...I think a clutch closer like Biddle (and Koch in the last 4 years) are underappreciated whereas those flashy ones with low ERA's and high K totals are worshipped...just sayin'
-
Oh B-Joe, how I love thee, let me count the ways...
-
Suspiciously? You're a regular Sherlock, you know that? haha A real bet? Do tell... Old? Never you mind the 36-year difference...lol
-
I still think Mariah Carey coasts on her rack and a vocal gimmick...So is it, like, true?
-
HSC, the umpire bashing (however justified) aside, the biggest differentce between Sosa/Bonds and Thomas is that the former two can sit on a curveball and still adjust to a 96mph fastball chest-high and hit it a ton...whereas Hurt was blown away by Moyer's 81 mph'er in the zone the other day. Issue closed.

ROTFLMAO...How Christian of you, psycho. Feeling flashes of nostalgia for good ol' KKK/"community re-education" days, no doubt? CWSOX, Johnny is a neo-religious, nationalist nut from the Troll zone; giving him political history lessons and generally engaging in informed debate is moot because he is living and breathing simplistic RW-GOP propaganda, trust me on this one....If it were up to him, we'd be all living under Holy Bible decrees, not US Code, Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc... Kmack, Rdivaldi, Spirrnoff, Boog, SS2k3 and Bridgepoirt_Joe used to spank his hypocritical, pseudo-intellectual, self-styled libertarian ass with regularity if I recall. And they did it with flair. Good times I tell you. "f**-loving, candy-ass, fascism-endorsing liberal treasonistas? Pure comedy gold I swear...lolololololololololololol Say, isn't it about time you talk about your secondary Law degree......or the Ninja belt at least....Jimmy Smits

...while you in turn fail to comprehend my original reply to Chisoxfn or whomeever it was who confirmed that the game was indeed wiped out. Re-read if you wish, if not go ahead and throw out some more "set variables" and "rules". Thanks for playing regardless.
-
Just give up already, no need to spew all that "rules" nonsense. In my orignal post I used the word "fairness", you can't think outside the little "rules" box, too bad. Really. I don''t even need to call you a moron, you are doing a great job showcasing yourself as such. And, yes, records, rainouts, injuries, protection and other things in question have everything to do with luck. Think about what the word means, just for a second. I am not against formality/practicality per se, but there is definitely more to it than magical number 162, brotha man. Once more time, only slower...if Clement ends up breaking the ERA record because 11 earned runs that he gave up fair and f***ing square were "disallowed".....you still haven't come up with anything that isn't contradictory.
-
There are MANY conservative rules in sports and outside that make little sense but which, for the sake of convenience or practicality, are still in place, but it doesn't mean that it's all that there is too it, especially when talkintg about "fairness" and other lofty concepts. When you are arguing for formal status quo, you've lost an arguement. Simple as that. Also, who cares about records? 99.9% players don't break anything. Stop worshiping the purity of records, there is more to game than this. Especially when you consider that amount of at bats has more effect on said purity than games played... I am not sure if the 163rd decisive game of the 98 season counted or not, but if it did and Sammy hits 5 homers and breaks Big Mac's 70....you get the idea.
-
It's stubborn shallowness, not principle.... The best way to lose an arguement is by overstatement....Afterall if a guy has 162 pinch-hit appearances, one in each game, and hits 69 home runs and another guy hits 70 but has 400 more at bats because he started in each game...who "deserves" the HR title more? And don't say "it will never happen, get off the pipe" either. It's principle, mothafocka. Practical advice: whether you are arguing from formality standpoint or from fairness one....forget about 162 games crap and concentrate on ab-bats. It'll make it a lot easier for you. And you will see why Bonds's 73 HR in 2001 is vastly superior to Sosa's 66 in 1998 despite only 7-homer difference.
-
Moron, it's about games played, there's no luck involved, it's called playing a 162 game schedule, what in the hell don't you see about this. Getting extra games isn't luck, it's an unfair advantage. Oh and about Clement, the stats don't count either way whether you do excellent or s***ty. It doesn't count it doesn't count, that's the way it is. I don't get what your trying to prove. Clement didn't get any additional games to break the ERA record, that's what matters. THE GAME WAS NEVER PLAYED. Alright, if you can't get past one-dimensional, inflexible thinking, it's your problem. No amount of name-calling is going to change that, pal. *yawn** Forget about going by the book and all that formal crap for a change...and if you think a few extra rain-cased AB's is "unfair"...while the 100+ differencial caused by health, line-up, stadium factors is very "fair"....god help you.
-
I don't give a s*** about home runs or records, the game shouldn't revolve around them 24/7...but I'll humor you anyway... Of course it's fair- it's not like he 1) caused the rainout in order to take advantage of it or 2)had batting practice pitching to hit the homers off. He got lucky and had enough skill to convert the opportunity. Such a minor issue it's not even funny. So if Sammy Sosa gets walked 200 times a year and misses 15 games due to injury and hits 50 homers...while Giambi who has a hell of a lineup protection, plays with that short porch and was in 160 games, hits 51......does that 120+ ab differencial seem in any way "fair" to you? But, you say, it's different when blablabla...And yet you're ready to piss your pants because of measly 3 extra at bats Tino Martinez had....unreal. You still haven't asnwered about Matt Clement...what if he gets 3 rainout games in which he gets rocked (say 22 ER runs) but gets to do "over again" and ends up breaking the ERA record? Ha? Wha....technicalities, no? Where is your sense of outrage? Agin, that Cardinal dude with a broken leg, I bet the Sunday game seemed very real to him.
