  1. Yes, Reverse Psych 101 reject, I've always been jealous of the 40yo glue-huffing, ritalin-downing "super-model daters" with a 6th grader's IQ and a 3rd grader's sac size..... Got anymah gems?
  2. I am glad we got 26yo Konerko and not 32yo aging speedster, anti-clutch Ray-Ray. I dare anyone to go back to July 2002 and read their own thoughts on the matter. They were singing a different tune I bet. As much as I bashed him this year, I still think Konerko will soon break out of his premature midlife crisis and will be a star.
  3. For the same reason people hated Albert Belle...they need villains and scapegoats, and rumours have a way of undercutting facts and reality. I am sure DJ is not a nice guy, but so friggin' what? This entire issue is a dead horse that was beaten, buried, dug out, sexually violated, buried again ad naseum. I wish people would get over St. Ray of Durham (who won't be batting .300 let alone .330 by the end of the year, trust me) and move the f*** on. Whether he is the next Robbie Alomar or not would largely depend on his work ethic (or supposed lack thereof) and whether or not the neck break he suffered has any long-term affect. One thing is clear, he might be an all-star this year if Magglio, Colon don't right themselves. Bank on it.
  4. Be careful saying things like that may get you ostrasized around herre. For reals, yo.
  5. 5 word: IT AIN'T LITTLE LEAGUE. I bet when Angels started 5-14 last year, it was because of M*THERSUCKING NEWBALANCEWEARING DIRTY COMMIE P*NKO Mike Sciossa, too
  6. Nice comeback, resident troll. That doesn't even make sense....Surprise, surprise. Say, whatever happened to the Siamese twin supermodels you were dating who died and left you with 6-figure fortune? You're so full of it, no amoung of insipid LOL's will obscure the fact that behind your bragging/lying front there is a minimum wage 40yo perv living with his parents. Dem b****es go wild for dat stuff Just stating the obvious, momo. You ain't foolin' noone.
  7. Don't forget those numbers have been negatively affected by the 2-week slump ala Jimenez and in the past Jose has always broken out as the weather has gotten hot. If Jose stays heathy this season, I bet he set career highs in every category. 30-100 and even better clutch numbers is almost guaranteed if he plays 140+ games.
  8. You guys are unbelievable... Let's go over this again for those who are slow on the uptake: --without Jimenez-Ray switch, we don't.get.Colon. Granted Bartolo is stuck between being a power thrower and a finesse pitcher right now, but I think he will snap out of it and will contribute mightily; without him we stand no chane the way things are going. --Ray's D, was pretty bad and considering DJ is only learning the position, I'd say it's a wash. Get back to me in 2 years. --Jimenez has been at least as good as Ray offensively and is coming out of his huge slump. Also, considering the amount of "hard outs" DJ made this season, sooner or later they will start falling/going through. -Baserunning? DJ was clearly safe at 2nd twice he was called out, that should have given him 4 SB for the year, the same amoung as Ray. Also, you don't seriously think Ray-Ray would have been safe on that play at the plate Sunday? Remember how much Ray used to get thrown out during his 25 SB days. He is a bit faster than DJ, but his speed is overrated and besides, considering 300K Jimenex is pulling, you don't seriously think you were getting Wilie Mays? Common that's just silly. If anything else, Ray is 32 and DJ is 25 and not even in his prime yet.
  9. Spoken like a misogynist who never gets any in real life. Go dance in a mosh pit, bro. "The game" is only in your attention-starved imagination, most of your cliched hypothetical "examples" are skewed to suit your own inflexible worldview. You go to any legitimate nightclub (Excalibur, etc) and if you are looking for a bimbo goldigger, I guess you'll find her but there are also classy, confident women out there who don't give a f*** about your car or whether are a lead in a play or not.....Not that there is anything wrong with 1-night stands mind you. You and bmr shouldn't blame the ladies for your own mommy issues and insecurities in other words.
  10. Talk about having a life, old man... is that why you keep posting during Friday and Saturday nights? Check that, you must be getting one of those laptop dances. Duh.
  11. Mini-recap: 1. BrandoFan vaguely remembers bmr31 for the obnoxious moron he truly was on ESPN back in 2000. 2. BMR slings unfounded insults at Voodochile for whom BrandoFan has always held respect despite being banned from WSI sometime in distant 2001. 3. BrandoFan tongue-in-cheekly ridicules BMR who in his self-involved, paranoid glory bluffs and declares BF to be none other than his "nemesis" Voodoochile who is apparantly a "loser gunning for him" because he, bmr, for the life of him can't grasp why anyone could actually treat him as a clueless board clown without being a Very Very Devilish Nazi Baby-Eater 4. BMR the Baiter is slowly made realize that he was wrong all along and that the "evidence" is only that in his little imagination...but since he is bmr, always illogical and stubborn, he actually ups the ante on the accusations hoping that the sheer noise from his empty talk would convince others...who BTW already know what caricature asshole bmr31 truly is . Not that they care about this non-issue one way or another, lol Ditto for BrandoFan who, to be fair, despire being a part-time poster now would not like bmr even if the latter started kissing his ass.
  12. 15-16 record has next to NOTHING to do with Jerry just like like 95-67 record had nothing do with him. Nada. Thinking otherwise is displaying lack of baseball knowledge and familiarity with the team. Being frustrated shouldn't automatically lead to desperation-driven insane-talk IMO.. Blame Carlos Lee, Paul Konerko, John Garland, Frank Thomas, Joe Crede, Magglio Ordonez Aaron Rowand, Billy Koch, Flash Gordon, Damasso Marte, Rick White, Bartolo Colon...for not havig enough sense to make adjustments, hitting into DPs, giving up crucial runs late in the game, pitching with their C stuff despite making 8 million a year, making stupid defensive and baserunning gaffes, for conspiring to strike the word 'clutch' from dictionaries everywhere, etc. Also blame the rain, shady umpiring and Jerry Reinsdorf if you wish.
  13. Na-ah, pussy he ain't. I like pussy.
  14. Sounds like a foregone conclusion This is where you're b****-slapped with "you're dead wrong, everyone is jealous...why do i even bother" bit. Honda Civic. '96 one at that.
  15. ...and continues with advanced mental development, culminating in exceptional, pure talent. Unless those guys have at least 2 out of 3, no chance they see the Big Show.
  16. Who gives a s*** about average?! OPS is where it's at, pops. Huh? What the hell are you talking about? For every "good" thing I see from Frank's swing I see 3-4 "awful" things. He may be indeed a relaxed, rejuvenated teamplayer or whatever, but he is no longer a 1st round HOF lock, once-in-a-generation type hitter he was way back. Sorry, he just ain't. Everyone in the slump? That may or may not be true, but it's one thing when it's Olivo or Crede or Harris who are learning the league...and another when it's your biggest gun of all. Don't get me wrong, Magglio took a step back this season and Konerko/Lee pair has pretty much proven that they can't hit anything that's not a mistake fastball or a hanging breaking ball, they get no excuses from me...but this is all about Frank right now. As for the last part of your statement, he is seeing literally 3 times more pitches than either Sosa or Bonds. Stop babying this guy and making so many excuses and raise your effin' expecations.......if you want to see this team go deep into the playoffs really bad that is. We need Frank post up 1200 OPS and drive in 150 runs, not 830 and 90 respectively, mmkay? Afterall, he was the s***talker about how he is the best this, the best that, deserves a lot of this and a lot of that...Well, it's all good and dandy, Frank, but you must put your bat where your mouth is. It's not like you're gonna win a lot of games with your mighty defense or baserunning...nah, instead he is a perpetual excuse maker.

    X2

Saw it little more than an hour ago......Along the Matrix, it's the most involving, cool sci fi pic ever IMO. Also easily the top three films I've seen in the last 6 months (City of God and Russian Ark, subtitled and documentary foreign films respectively being the other two, though I liked Adaptation and Memento quite a bit too...You can certainly tell I don't easily fall into "escapist" traps or is easily influenced by meaningless box office intake, but X2 is that good). Spider-Dork, Daredevil, Harry Potter kiddie fare and boooooring 6-hour LOTR-athon ain't got nothing on this fun flick. And I am not even a fan of the franchise per se though I was familiar with characters via the Sat morning cartoon my nephew watched religiously. I also like the first film....But If you are a fan of the genre and the book, go. see. it. now.
  18. Actually he is a smart man by all accounts but intelligence is often your biggest enemy when it comes to sports, sex, etc if the instincts aren't there or are "overruled" by thinking and anxiety...Let's face it: Frank Thomas is a mental case now and with unarguably declined batspeed, caused by age or over-thinking or both, there is absolutely no way he can afford to sit on breaking stuff and still be able to adjust to a good fastball like Bonds, Soriano, Guerrero, Delgado, A-Rod and others manage to do on regular basis. Aging is not a(s big a) problem when you are Palmeiro. Edgar, Baines, McGwire, L-Gonzo, Bonds, Sosa, etc because what you lose in quickness you make up in experience/improving eye/mental aspect of the game....Double guessing yourself and being a self-conscious perfectionist is great between atbats but Frank is often doing it between pitches and in the unforgiving split-second nature of baseball, there is simply no place for that. This is not the same Frank we saw in 2000 which was his swan song. I truly hope I am wrong though and he busts out for a 1200 OPS, MVP type season and leads the Sox to a 99-win season, I really do
  19. Actually....it's more like 15-20+ close (and important ones at that, I didn't count when the game was out of reach for either side) calls. Anything from biased, er, inconsistent strikes calling from batte to batter, inning to inning (if I have to see Jimenez or Valentin or Magglio rung up on another "strike" 3-4 inches off the corner I am gonna lose it)...to blatant "out by a foot you say? Not the way I saw it" shameless robberies. That Crede homer alone cost us a game, it would have been 3-3 and Sox usually come back when they aren't behind, lol. Lucky bounces Molto mentioned don't count because Sox have no "magical wizard" who can make sure we get a bigger share of them and also because umps don't have a bearing on luck. Besideas, we maybe out of contention by then. I am no conspiracy theorist either, but the next day after the attack the difference of our treatment was strartling. And since we are easily of the most disrespected/inconsequential teams in the majors and since we are so overrated offensively and BP-wise, so inadequate defensively with a subpar manager, all those close calls going the other way are highlighted even more, costing us literally, games. I dunno, I guess if we were 23-7 like we should have been by now I probably wouldn't care but.......
  20. Listerine prides themselves on saying that using it will eliminate 99.9% of germs. What they don't tell you is that the .1% that it's ineffective on is jizz. :puke Sometimes it really sucks to be a scientist!!! Imagine getting the "Listerine: Effective On Jizz Or Not?" project... "I got WHAT project?????" "I won't do it!" :fyou "I SAID, I WON'T DO IT!!!!!" Follow quickly by the inevitable "how much does it pay?" ...which in turn is followed by a pause and then the "no, seriously, how much does it pay?"
  21. LMAO...you forgot the "me bmr...me knows Jimenez sucks" part.
  22. Ok, keeping in mind that this is the most reply-able and prominent thread going so far on Soxnet, and that the overwhelming majority of regulars here are either vociferously pro-"gay cause" or at least seem very supportive, open-minded and genuinely concerned about the issue even if they aren't exactly sure how the "human factor" can be overcome this soon in the Jockdom Jungle....this begs the conclusion.... Are you once again calling them cowardly liars, this time dissing nearly everyone in your usual backhanded-but-agitating sorta way? I mean outside of Clu420 noone (dozens if not hundreds of posters) agrees with you here which is amazing if you think about the fact that this is a SPORTS MESSAGE BOARD (sports is second only to military world in its deep-rooted conservative sexual politics) where you could very easily air your viwes however unpopular/un-PC without the fear of persecution and such....Hence the implication that most everyone here must be a ball-less liar if they don't spew simpletonish, baseless "theories" on why "f**gotness is so very bad for society"........ But then again, it's probably all Voodoo conspiracy, he must have hijacked the monikers, right?
