Occupational hazzard you could say...I was half-kidding anyway, my American is not bad I'll give it try I guess, lol It's still at negotiating/debating stage, but as it stands now, it's me, better half and 4 friends who are college-age and pretty cool. I am the only baseball fan of the group (for the most part they don't care if it's Wrigley, Cell, Excalibur, etc know what I mean?) but they owe me a night out (or two) and I defintately must be there when Minnesota....I hope the tix aren't sold out and everything goes ok, we should definately be there. I'll try to "sneak out" for an inning to hang out witchall. I was kidding about the beer...but not really.

Ok, so you have a problem with moi, not Wouldoo...It makes even more sense now, lol. Well, I guess my posting style can get overbearing at times (I am an ESPN-style slinger who hasn;t posted in a year and a half for crying out loud! Its a posting version of blue balls, lol), and considering how much I was flamed by many different peeps since coming to this board, I may have unintenionally offended you. If I did, I hope I apologized. I've said before, you're a cool gal and I have no beef with you...though I bet there'll be times I will disagree with you in the future. Get use to it as it were I know I certainly didn't treat you any different than if you were a guy. Should I have? (Per Sox games: I'll be a tall guy with in a Valentin jersey and either a British or Russian accent, depending on my mood. I won't be alone, would that be a problem?)

Sony giveth, Sony taketh away, eh? Be careful what you say, some people may perceive you to be a presumptious elitist, nobody likes those Hey, I have nothing invested in Dixie chick or Democratic party for that matter. I find the whole situation both funny and sad, that's all. Real world as it were.
-
I am not in the habit of calling others "pompous gasbags", but those two come very close. The latter one has such a healthy, positive outlook on things... The world makes sense again, lol.

If bmr wishes to think I am Voodoo who's out to chase him across message boards and "get him"......let him. There is no harm in it, his theory just further reduces whatever little cred he had left in him. Frankly, I am sorta enjoying this comedy of errors. As for Voodoo giving you s***, what happened? So many people over here carry such a strong grudge against him (not WSI, not FWC, Daver or PaleHoseGeorge who are directly responsible for the Big Brother Site, but Voodoo specifically) that I am starting to think that we are talking about two different people here, I remember him as a very good poster/person from ESPN days. Granted I have never met the dude (ala SS2K3)...fill me in, would you Steff? (BTW me, g/f and couple of friends, all nice kids I vouch, were supposed to go this Friday, too. Any chance you wanna meet up at some point, we'll probaby get bleacher seats though. You could buy us a bear or two, we're a bit under age, lol. If not, it's cool too.) Who else is going to be there besides Vood/Jim, Steff, RPS and HSC?
-
Agreed to a certain extent...unless institutions and the government get involved and, let's face it, most of the time there is some big-ass corporate/political/religious push behind these kinds of public crucifictions. It's not as simple as "people have spoken", SS2K3 and you know it perfectly well. As for Maines, she was obvisously pandering to Brits with her little joke, too bad they heard it over here. No big deal, but her career will suffer.

Shanaya Twain lost both her parents in car acident and had to basically become a "kept woman" in Canada for 2 years to make ends meet and support her younger siblings. Allya was "discovered" by R.Kelly when she was 14. Many times over. Jack Nicholson was raised thinking his grandmother is his mother and his mother is his sister, Peter O'Tool was raised as a girl until the age of 12. Jeniffer O'Neal attempted suicide twice by the time she was 15, accidentally shot herself in the stomach at 30 and had a husband who molested her child by the time she was in late 30's...Roman's Polanski mother threw him off the train going to Auswitsz not to mention Sharon Tate "episode". Michael Jackson was beaten and abused into being a freak he is today by his father. Halle Berry was at various times beaten by Wesley Snipes (lost hearing in one of her ears), David Justice and, rumour has it, is constantly cheated on by Eric Bene. Michael Jordan couldn't marry his college girlfriend because he didn't pass the uppper-class version of the paper-bag test as far as her Black Elite parents were concerned. Both Robin Williams and Samuel L. Jackson are former long-time coke fiends........etc, etc, the list goes on and on and on. Let's face it, most if not all celebritites were real people before they became famous (not that one becomes immune to suffering when one starts having some money in the bank, mind you) with all that it entails, including but not limited to depressions, abortions, abusive relationships, drug/alchool addiction, sexism, spiritual dilemmas, freak injuries, family feuds, racism, poverty, betrayal, failure, debilitating illness, etc, etc, etc....to say nothing of problems that come with the territory- namely constant rejection/unemployment to say nothing of porn, prostitution and "casting couch" (two words...Harvey Weinstein, lol) that 70-80% of "Hollywood" folks had to do at point or another in their life....Did I mention Stage Mother Hell ? It's the best suffering money can't buy if you are a kid If you want to color all of them as these overprivileged, clueless sub-humans and caricatures, go ahead, but it will be far, FAR from the truth. They are no different that athletes, politicians, etc.

Yes indeed, been a bit busy of late...what you been up to? Hey, they are goin' Series this very year, didn't you get the memo? LOL...Much respect.

Or so you claim...over and over and over again. Time to change the vinyl. Let the "doth protesting" part deux commence...now.

If I had a nickel for everytime some delusional/insecure momo uttered the above...But then again, with all the "jealous haters" (not to mention Voodoo's, lol) in the world, if you don't toot your own horn, noone will, right? It's funny cause it's true?

BrandoFan's Pre-Season Estimated Win Total Based on Talent and Adjusted for ALC: 99 Current Generously Estimated Win Total based on Performance: 82 Thomas, Konerko, Lee, Crede better step up offensively and put up All-Star numbers and Garland, Koch and Gordon better start throwing career-year style. FAST.

Actually they have Huskers 2. over at Troll yard, he goes by Boog_Alou95. If I didn;t know any better, I would say thay are twins. Similar posting style and baseball smarts sans wretched scrubbiness. I was never a regular on ESPN boards or WSI but I posted from time to time during 2000 season under DimaAl8(8) back when FarWest, JustJim, Rio, DagoBeef, you, MaidenVoyage, At-something and a few others battled the trolls before immigrating to, I guess, Soxnet and WSI sites. What ever happened to Outcastradio? That dude was hilarious! And don;t get me started on the Big "buy my tapes" Hurt I think ESPN board was very underrated back in the day. The amount of hysterical trollery on it was ovewhelming and you can still laugh your ass off once in a while when kmack, Boog, lake-shpre_drive, RDIVALDI, smirnoffkid and especially that loon espnjohn1 get together. Good times. Good to see you havent dropped completely off the radar, though. Still terrorizing the Flubbie board with piercing one-liners?

Even if true (I guess the arguement could be made that for every latently homosexual homophobe there is a secretly homophobic "tolerant person"), like I said, there was time in the very recent past when Blacks were considered inferior animals and the majority of whites did not want to "accept" them as being free, etc...But the thing is, fortunately the country is not run by a bunch of predictable bigots of hypocrititical (as in man butt-f***ing a woman is cool but man butt-f***ing a man is not because it's...um...well...icky!) or religious (as in I am so scared of not making it into the most exclusive club, Heaven, and instead going into the pits of hell that I will do everything that some book of fiction tells me to do even it means eliminating freedoms of others...and since it says God already showed his displeasure for homos in Sodom and Gemorrah, I will hedge my bets so to speak) sort...and the forces of progress and acceptance shall not be stopped no matter how many small-minds are in the way. Look around you, bro, with all social, legislative and cultural reforms that have taken place in the last 150 years, it's only the matter of time before Bible Belt and it's abhorent ideology/legacy crumbles. You seem to be confusing "real" with "gigantic tool". Common mistake. Accomplishment? Yeah, along with winning Nobel Prize, Stanley Cup and inventing the wheel...Keep 'em coming, bro, great stuff. Considering the sheer "doth protesting" and self-aggrandizing that color nearly all your posts, we can safely conclude that you are one sad, paranoid clown who will try to show off on the boards to alleviate some of your misery and who is LAWAYS looking for re-assurence and acceptance. Sorry, everything you say points to that fact. As far as your political savvy goes (liberals trying to make everyone happy was it), save your incoherent babbling for your fellow circle-jerking Limbaugh worshipers.

Many current (don't get me started on Great Gay British Actors of days of yore, lol) big-time movie stars and actors are gay or bi (practicing ones as far Sen. Santorum is concerned, lol) Joh Travolta, Kevin Spacey, Tom Cruise, Sir Ian McKellen, David Hyde Piece, John Mahoney, Marlon Brando, Madonna, Rupert Everett, Jodie Foster, Vin Diesel, Richard Gere, Brando Fraiser to name a few off the top of my head. Doesn't even scratch the surface come to think of it.

What will it take for you to be concerned? .500 record in August before a tough schedule in September? Our division is a joke and neither Royals nor 'sota are anywhere as good as Tribe was in 2000 when we kicked its ass. Now we are underachieving badly as we did in 2001 and 2002 despite having a better team, and it doesn't take genius to see it. We've been playing very bad teams so far, and anything below 15-5 record is inexcusable. Fire Ward and Manuel now. They may not be the cause of the problem but they sure as hell ain't the solution.

cwsox , mathew and SI1020, I am sorry I am late to reply but in response to your articulate and human posts I say...don't Don't...bother-- ignorant, classless and cocky clowns like BMR will not be persuaded and won't accept anything that lies outside of his little circle of "empirical" beliefs. Don't waste your time on that sad sociopath, it's not worth it. Reasoning with him is futile, he doesn't play by the rules and IMO isn't much interested in "truth", "justice" and other lofty concepts. (I, on the other hand, don't have much class so it's easy for me to deal with BMer. I don't recommend it though, it's hilarious at first but gets boring very quickly as he doesn't even have a discernable personality you can sink your teeth into and satirize--just a garden-variety delusional asshole/bigot)
-
No s***, genius. BTW "it's not their fault [that they are the way they are]" = arrogant patronizing, if not altogether racist in the "whites are superior to color'ds, but we'll tolerate them because they have no choice in being inferior" subtle kinda way...which most people see through. Could you please elaborate on the first part. I know it's hard and not your style, but just this once...please. Hehe, I tell you, the more you open your mouth...Ok, between presumptiously accusing those who try to rise above conduct of others and those whose life doesn't--*GASP*--revolve exclusively around making/spending money of being liars as well as posting numerous other hateful and/or ridiculously self-aggrandizing "facts" (read most posts)...don't you get tired of your own infantile BS? Surely you must realize how much entertainment your assholish one-liners provide around here, nobody can be this clueless. It's not like you have anything to contribute baseball-wise... And could you tell us losers more about your personal "feats"...Let me know how that acceptance/insecurity thing goes.
-
The problem with this is that we are already arguably the most despised team in AL for different reasons...Last thing we need is to cement our place in umps' doghouse for the rest of the year. They already blew 3-4 big calls against us in the last couple of weeks.
-
Gee you mean bloated pigs, er, umpires made another important call against the a Sox? Can't be! Look on the bright side, the ump "evened" things out in the next at bat by graciously not ringing up Aaron Rowand on a pitch 5 inches outside. I mean he started to raise his arm...
-
I think people are seriously overrating Josh Stewart...Hummel sucks and will never see the light of day in the majors and Valenzula's swing is too long. Just like people overrated Mark Buehrle? Thanks for a hearty laugh, my friend. In (unlikely) case you weren't joking, might I remind you that for every Mark Burhle, there is literally a hundred soft-tossers/finesse guys rotting in the minors having never even seen major league BP let alone front of the rotation...Sox lucked out with B-Mon in the same way Dodgers did with Piazza--late-round baseball lottery nothing more. The sooner you realize that the better for your heart. Mark Buerhle came out of nowhere in 2000 to dominate AA but his BP stint with the Sox was mildly dissapointing (ERA in mid-4.00s), being outpitched by already-injured Barcelo, Bradford among others. His 2001 breakout (he began 0-3 with 7.00+ ERA and people called for his head like they do now for Garland's, maybe more, lol )was a HUGE pleasant surprise for, I dare say, everyone.

I'll second the sentiments, congrads on the big Two-Oh. No more angst for you, young man...Go get 'em (Damn I feel old.)
