QUOTE(toasty @ Nov 21, 2007 -> 02:11 PM) i wonder, if it would entice him more to build in escalators based on playing performance or lack of DL stints to add a 6th year. obviously it would have to be a good escalator clause so we dont get hosed, but if it's right, i dont see a problem with it. yea. and little perks like how they put in contracts; more money for winning mvp, all star appearances, silver sluggers, gold gloves, etc.

i just dont know about getting rowand again though. 12 or so mill...
-
"the White Sox as the leading suitor — followed by the Royals, Dodgers and Rangers" really? if thats true then we do have a great shot at getting him, if thats the correct order. no way, i dont think he goes to kc even if theyt offer the best deal.

(lol didnt you's have this argument already? )

QUOTE(bschmaranz @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 03:21 PM) Hunter-Jones-Rowand same here

QUOTE(bmags @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 03:51 PM) this is 2007 nobody looks at baseball cards true! who knows where this is all going. way too many stories out there about hunter.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 11:25 AM) He'd get 2x that on the open market. if i were him, i woudnt sign any deal. he should test the fa market. i just hope he goes to n.l. or anywhere but the al central

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 20, 2007 -> 09:33 AM) They had a better record than our Sox last season..... but theyre garbage every year! never improving.

http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...7&fext=.jsp the rangers continue to make a strong pitch..who would want to play for the rangers? theyre not going anywhere next year. "The Rangers are talking to Hunter about a five-year deal" if they dont go past 5 i think we get him
-
i wouldnt really mind cabrera at ss and uribe at 2nd. they both have a ton of range
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 19, 2007 -> 11:07 AM) Hunter? i hope! if cabrera can come anywhere close to his numbers from last year, its a good trade! .301 8 86, 20sb
-
anyone but uribe..there must be more players involved in this deal. how many more years is cabrera signed for?

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 10:55 AM) Would the Sox really trade Konerko? Remember he reportedly passed up more loot to re-sign with the Sox. Do you then turn around and ship him off? Bad PR move? also would the sox do that to vazquez? he did almost the same. he knew he could get more if he became a FA but he wanted to stay with the sox.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 09:54 PM) Torii Hunter's quote in a Fort Worth Star Telegram today: While it would seem like a stretch for the Rangers to be able to sign Hunter, don’t wager against it. He certainly hasn’t. “I almost bet you that the Texas Rangers have a better chance than anybody,” he said. i thought he wanted to play on a team with a chance to make it to the w.s., with a great farm system......yup seems like the rangers are that team!

QUOTE(BearSox @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 06:31 PM) Hill is vastly overrated i agree. since he barely has any big league experience people dont know/realize that hes actually not young, hes 27-28 yrs old. "cubs in on crawford" the cubs r linked to ever damn player, hunter, arod, crawford..
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 06:50 PM) I would be shocked if Hunters final deal is under 5 years and/or under 75 million i really hope we get hunter but i dont think we will. i seriously doubt the sox will go past 5 years and im sure theres a team out there willing to give him 6 yrs or so.
-
QUOTE(Lemon_44 @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 12:02 PM) They said Milwaukee may release Estrada. He would be a nice addition. he would be. but im sure he would like to start though. plus i dont think we'll get rid of hall

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 8, 2007 -> 08:12 AM) Miami Herald still sees the Sox among the teams in the race for Cabrera, along with LAA, CHC and LAD. fields, maybe 2 picthcers,id do in a second. i dont see why the cubs would be listed as a possibility. one can only dream...
-
i want uribe gone. i dont want to bring back most of the players from last year. pk, aj, dye, fields, uribe, thome-2 much. and theyre all slow. we need more speed so i doubt he'll be back...
-
QUOTE(Lemon_44 @ Nov 2, 2007 -> 12:23 PM) I'd rather have Owens over Crisp just because i think he can develop into a better player than Coco. Sadly, i think the Sox are going to end up with Rowand out there in CF. To me, that's the worst case. 2005 is gone.Brining Rowand back is not going to bring back any magic from that year. great post, i agree. this yr was a career year for rowand, i dont think he's a 100 rbi guy. 14 mill a year or so, might as well have owens in cf and use the money else where

QUOTE(Lemon_44 @ Nov 2, 2007 -> 02:26 PM) I think it will be amongst these 4 candidates: 1-Uribe 2-Eckstien 3-Furcal 4-Tejada If i had to rank them in order of preference it would Tejada, followed closely by Furcal, then Uribe, and last would Eckstein. However, it looks like KW preferences, going by newpaper speculation, seem to be Eckstein, Uribe, then Tejada/ Furcal. I would absolutley hate seeing Eckstein out there. Why are you going to pay free agency money to a guy just because he can bunt? i would love to get furcal. great defensively and he could be our leadoff hitter. eckstien would be cheaper and we wouldnt have to give anything to get him though...anyone but uribe

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Nov 1, 2007 -> 09:28 AM) I'd rather not pay Hunter and save the money for Miguel Cabrera. That guy loves Ozzie. Show him the money and get him in shape. He would be awesome at USCF.
