  1. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 07:34 PM) Cooper is the best in the business of taking a pitcher who has lots of physical talent and getting the most of him. lol when i hear the name daniel cabrera for some reason i think of macdougal
  2. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 10:04 PM) good call on that one. Injuries have saved our lineup this season so far (Owens, Uribe) that one was huge. it would be swish in lf and owens in cf and cq probly never would have gotten much of an opportunity. whew!
  3. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 12:46 PM) LOL, those are his 2008 season statistics so far. i went to this: http://kansascity.royals.mlb.com/stats/ind...itSplit1=vsTcha i didnt realize it was for 08 and he hasnt faced the sox so they just put his 08 stats
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 02:06 AM) This game may tell us a lot about our team. Unless it gets rained out ... It's at home against a guy who has been outstanding this year in Greinke. The way we've folded against most "good" pitchers indicates we will have a s*** offensive game. After the Oz/KW flap, will we concentrate and smash the baseball? Or will Greinke pitch a 2 hitter? I hate to be negative nancy so I won't be. and he seems to pitch great against the sox, 5-2 2.88 era in 11 career starts. he had an era under 2 against us last year......
  5. QUOTE (watchtower41 @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 09:44 AM) Looking for a little help here with Ozzie's contract... My Kool Aid Cubby cousin wants to make a wager that he will be fired before the end of '09. I figured I come over here and ask the contract experts and make a decison from there. signed through 2012 http://mlb.mlb.com/news/press_releases/pre...sp&c_id=cws
  6. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ May 29, 2008 -> 08:09 AM) The weird thing to me is when OC says "I don't have to do it with other teams because they always had my back. They don't want to do it here" I mean that comment kinda sounds like it has happened before and Ozzie didn't have his back and call...but OC only has one credited error on the season...so what is he talking about?? Also, is it normal for managers to call to the official scorer during the game to argue these things? That seems weird to me.....After a bad play in the field...be it the catchers fault or the SS or whatever...I can't see the manager calling the player over who was charged with the E and saying...hey they charged you with an error there...I'm going to call up and get that changed for you. That just seems like such a messed up thing to do in the middle of the game. After the game fine....but during the game....when a guy gets back to the dugout..it should be like....don't worry about it...shake it off.....lets get some runs here...whatever. Unless OC is the type that says....I ain't worried about it...it wasn't my fault anyway. I would think in a situation like the one with Toby and OC...both players would get together and say...my bad lets shake it off...yada yada yada. great post. i dont get it either. what was he expecting, for ozzie to call them and say change it? i dont know, dont get this. should be about winning. we're in 1st, none of this stuff should be happening.
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 28, 2008 -> 02:16 PM) thats just a flat out retarded statement. But continue. bcuz when we saw that article, none of this had been out yet. we saw oc as a leader, great guy, etc and we thought renteria was the bad guy. now we're seeing how some of what edgar said was true.
  8. QUOTE (WCSox @ May 28, 2008 -> 01:58 PM) Edgar's "right" to have Cabrera unlawfully detained at the airport? Agreed that Cabrera has some serious growing-up to do, but let's keep things in perspective. well not that. him and the type of person he is.
  9. QUOTE (rangercal @ May 28, 2008 -> 12:53 PM) yeah... because both situations are related.... :rollseyes meaning when i read that story how edgar doesnt like him and said the type of person he is, i thought badly of edgar. im seeing hes actually right..
  10. QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 28, 2008 -> 01:53 PM) Not the guy I'd like to see up he leads their team in rbi lol and kills us
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 28, 2008 -> 06:23 AM) What a jack off. cant blame renteria for him comments anymore..

  13. QUOTE (kane0730 @ May 28, 2008 -> 12:28 PM) all right OC. Please get off your lazy asz, and actually hold somebody on at 2nd. i really dont like him anymore...
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 28, 2008 -> 10:27 AM) There's probably twice as many of them, at least, for each team. That being said, Francona is going to pick Carlos unless he's completely insane. damon and crisp, what a joke lol quentin will make the team
  15. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ May 27, 2008 -> 10:31 PM) coco crisp, jonny damon, melky cabrera, jd drew, and bobby abreu are in the top 15 vote getters, that's all i need to say well hey, we cant say much. ny and redsox fans are voting a lot! more than us!
  16. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 26, 2008 -> 11:51 PM) man, who would've thought we'd be 1 game behind the d-backs ,who started out ridiculously hot, on memorial day in the loss column? crazy and who would of thought tb would be good and have the best record in baseball?
  17. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 22, 2008 -> 11:16 PM) I just went to vote. I was hoping to vote for CQ. He isnt even on the ballot. Jerry Ownes is!!! what the hell? they make the ballots during spring training.
  18. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ May 20, 2008 -> 03:14 PM) Great banner!!! CQ!!!!!!!! great!
  19. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ May 19, 2008 -> 08:02 PM) I didn't get to watch it, but ESPN really pissed me off when they were saying Buehrle's nono was not a dominant one and it shouldn't have been a no hitter. They also said that there were too many good plays by the defense that kept it a no hitter. I felt like slapping all of them and asking them when is there a no hitter with crappy defense? Okay, now that my rant is over, congrats to Lester. what about lesters? the play by lugo and ellsbury?
  20. he was amazing at the begining of the season, now hes been making those costly errors. i wouldnt worry about it 2 much though/
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 15, 2008 -> 01:53 PM) LOL. The CQ love has got to stop. I've been posting here since 2003 and I've never seen an entire board orgasm at the very mention of a guy's name. Q has been outstanding. But we're a month and a half into a six month season. Let's see if the guy does it for an entire year before we start talking about Hanley Ramirez type contract extensions. Another thing, does Greg Walker get any type of credit for Q's start? He sure does get the blame when a future HOF starts sucking. just sign him already
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 15, 2008 -> 08:58 AM) Maggs was a FA signing out of Venezuela right? yea
