  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 07:09 PM) Unless he's outstanding defensively, it makes a lot of sense to move him away from behind the plate if his bat lives up to its billing. Guys like Mauer and Rodriquez were good defensively so moving them out didn't make as much sense. An average defensive catcher who can pile up huge numbers offensively should switch positions if possible. i understand ,makes sense. i guess he projects a little bit like victor martinez. but hey, if piazza could catch all those yrs that he did..lol
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 07:05 PM) Hawk a bag of wind already. Says we have to come in with a new attitude, than talks about how bad the dome is and how miserable it is to be there. ugh i forgot about that, how last time we played there, he blamed the dome lol what an idiot(sometimes, i like hawk)
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 06:57 PM) Tyler Flowers has 1b/DH written all over him. ....or maybe not. atleast not according to him flowers ''I've seen plenty of catchers on other teams, and I believe wholeheartedly that I'm better than them behind the plate.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 01:44 PM) Cool. I don't pay much attention to line ups until he posts something, as he is the only one in the organization who posts that sort of stuff. i got scared when i saw lillibridge was in the lineup lol pods beck aj pk thome dye rios alexei nix is the real one
  5. The White Sox are expected to want to pick up Jermaine Dye's $12MM mutual option for 2010, but Dye could turn it down and try the free agent market instead. per mlb rumors. where did they get that from? no way that would happen even if he was having a great year
  6. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 31, 2009 -> 11:20 AM) He didn't fit in Chicago? Bulls***, the guy ruled the Chicago media for the 1st half of the year. Remember the nicknames? The CSN appearances? The Charity events? Things turned bad for Swish, when things got bad for the team. Swish had an aberration of a year and still managed to hit for power and get on base, even while losing his playing time to Dewayne Wise. By all accounts almost everyone on the team loved him (Jenks and Crede, specifically), and that the main issue was with Ozzie. Furthermore, the majority of the negative feedback comes from Joe Cowley (who might as well be writing for a tabloid) a guy, who didn't like Swish from the start. Also, no position on this team? CF would have looked a lot nicer with him in it for the beginning of the year. what r u talking about? no one wanted him in cf after seeing him out there last yr, hes not a cfer! and u saw what he did in the 2nd half. just bcuz we had wise out there doesnt mean that he would look nice out there in cf. hell, anyone would over wise. but no thanks to swish in cf
  7. QUOTE (b-Rye @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 03:20 PM) I like him and all but don't think alot of players care for him. It's one of the reasons we can't sign free agents, and have cut/gave up talent for nothing. I think a whole new coaching staff is needed or atleast hitting coach/manager because it seems like a lot of guys on the team have given up. i dont think thats the issue, i would say it more financial(hunter) and if they wouldnt sign here bcuz ozzie, then i dont want them. bcuz that shows their character, that they dont want to hear when theyre not doing something right. boo hoo
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 09:55 PM) Flowers and Hudson could be. I don't want to see Dayan anywhere near the Sox next year. And by the way, when I said "prospects," I meant the direction the franchise was going in (I.E. setting themselves up for an extended run of success starting next season). Not actual prospects. well if were not guna make the playoffs then continuing to be bad this yr couldn net us another good prospect lol jp...
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 09:47 PM) My bad. Sounded like you were. Yeah, this team certainly isn't complete. Not many are. But most would agree the long-term prospects for this franchise starting next year have never looked better. we do have some real good looking prospects, but do u think flowers, hudson, viciedo, etc will all be ready next yr?
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 09:43 PM) 2/3 from the yankees, 2/3 from the Twins, 3/4 from Boston, 1/1 from Cubs. 8-3 in our next 11. doable. not with this team
  11. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 09:37 PM) They money coming off the books is going to pay for their salaries. It's really only Jose and one of Dye or Thome (as I imagine we're going to have to keep one of them). If Jerry is pissed at our swoon and low attendance over the next month there might not be much money there after raises and such. why do we HAVE to keep one of the two? thats what everyone has said. but honestly, i dont want either back, ive had enough of those two
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 09:35 PM) So we're complaining now that KW went out and landed a proven ace and a 5-tool, GG caliber CF? Newsflash: Guys like they don't come cheap. We're not exactly gonna file for bankruptcy anytime soon. There's a ton of money coming off the books this year. It's not like we need a brand new bullpen. Just another reliable arm or two. Not saying guys like that are easy to find. They're not. But it's doable. im not complaining about anything and i think kw has done a great job. and i know we have the money. im just saying that kw has to get a few guys. uch as u stated, a bullpen arm or 2, and of, maybe even a dh, a decent back up
  13. QUOTE (zenryan @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 09:34 PM) took me a sec to get it lol got it
  14. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 09:28 PM) They sure as s*** better. We're not gonna have much money for a bullpen which is obviously a glaring, glaring issue. I don't have a clue what we're gonna do there next year. i agree. everyone talks about how good were going to be next year, but we have a lot of questions for next yr. ur right about that pen though. who knows what were guna do with it
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 09:05 PM) Our old friend Damaso Marte warming up to face Jim Thome. Maybe we can beat him? i forgot all about that guy lol
  16. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 06:09 PM) f*** this. I'd much rather have DJ start. well since both would probly last about 3 innings, does it really matter? lol
  17. why does castro have to be so damn slow beckham
  18. BECKHAM IS DUE (sorry stoney and hawk, but that play arod made, any decent 3b should make that)
  19. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 08:03 PM) 2nd and 3rd, no out, and we f*** it up... AGAIN i can't wait til all the old guys are gone and we fire our coaching staff. it's just so boring being a sox fan. and when was the last year that we had a decent hitter off the bench? cant agree more but alexei f'd everything up in this occasion
  20. alexei is so fustrating, he is soriano
