  1. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 08:45 PM) Platoon. Well matchup thing and platooning would he about the same thing. If they're only going to platoon Morneau, get Ryan Braun to DH and let Morneau platoon with Abreu at 1B.
  2. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 08:34 PM) It's funny, LaRoche a guy who had known to be declining against lefties got plenty of AB's .Now Morneau who had hit lefties decently the last few years sits against them. That's our Robin.
  3. Important to get these runs in.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 05:40 PM) It is easy to say sell, but once you do sell, you can't take it back. Some prospects are nice, but who do the Sox trade that brings back top prospects who, actually are any good? There were several people excited about Avi Garcia back in the day. How does acquiring players like that enhance the future? No,way would I trade Sale or Q and not get at least so,etching major league back. Trade Robertson and you will spend the next few years looking for a reliever. It isn't like they are going to be able to make much of a splash in the free agent market. If I were Hahn, I would be looking for offensive upgrades from teams that want financial relief. I agree with all of this.
  5. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 03:13 PM) I do question airbase brought up Fulmer? Apparently to sit on the bench I guess Hahn's decision.
  6. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 03:02 PM) Hahn is a good solid baseball man. He is not the problem
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) I'm surprised by how many fans Hahn has on here. I understand he has some unusual constraints, but why not find someone who can do better given those constraints? Because JR doesn't have any friends that are competent GM material.
  8. Hahn is the worst GM the Sox ever had. I don't want him selling anybody. Best thing they can do is go out and spend money to buy some players with big contracts to plug some holes.
  9. QUOTE (Scoots @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 02:24 PM) Serious question. I've been a Sox fan since '04 and I still don't know why Hawk says "can of corn" for easy flyballs. Anyone know why he says it/what it means? Back in the day, when you needed to get a can of corn down from the top shelf at the local grocery store the owner/employee would knock the can down with a wooden pole and catch it in his apron as it fell.
  10. Sox got their moral victory for the day.
  11. QUOTE (Scoots @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 01:58 PM) He is the best hitter on this team. He is the only one I trust to be hitting in scoring situations. Him and maybe Eaton. And Morneau.
  12. Morneau with another hard hit ball gets a base hit.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 17, 2016 -> 01:53 PM) Turner is freaking terrible. What a stupid decision by a horrible front office Par for the course.
  14. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 16, 2016 -> 10:09 PM) For the love of god, sin city sox is a troll. I can't believe some of you guys are wasting your time responding to him. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 16, 2016 -> 10:28 PM) He's a troll and honestly not a very good one. I know that term gets thrown around a lot (I'm guilty of doing so myself), but this dude is the most blatant troll I can remember on this site in the 10+ years I've been here. You are correct, Sir.
  15. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 16, 2016 -> 10:00 PM) But this FA class sucks coming up. They're f***ed honestly. Take on big contracts from other teams.
  16. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 16, 2016 -> 09:51 PM) But what I don't want is to give up Fulmer for some mediocre hitter. Nobody does. If they can't trade him for a good hitting CF or C with years of control then keep him. The Sox need to spend a LOT of money to fix this mess. They made a lot of money over the decades and their way of doing things got them in this mess so they'll have to overspend now to get this team back to winning again.
  17. Sox need to add a good centerfielder that can hit, a good catcher, and two good bullpen arms without giving up much talent in return. How are they going to do it? f*** if I know - JR, KW and RH got themselves in this position, let them spend whatever money it takes to get out of it. The last thing I want to see is Rick Hahn and this current organization presiding over a sell off and full rebuild. Buy buy buy!
