  1. There we go! Give him a pitch to hit and he kills it!!!
  2. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 08:38 PM) Also, what the f*** is up with my boy Abreu? Pitchers aren't giving him anything good to hit and he's trying to do too much.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 08:06 PM) Abreu doesn't seem to have much of a plan at the plate. In that situation, I'm pretty sure everyone in the world knew he'd be getting a sinker inside. He hasn't been getting many good pitches to hit because of a lack of protection and he's been getting himself out swinging at bad pitches. He needs to stop trying to carry the whole team and just take his walks and force the pitchers to start throwing him more strikes.
  4. Bad road trip for the Sox. They blew the Kershaw game and got swept by the Angels, blowing the Sale game in the process. Now they have to do a complete about face against Detroit starting tomorrow.
  5. Sox have seen enough of this guy over the past two days to get to him today.
  6. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jun 8, 2014 -> 05:24 PM) Ozzie would have this team at least 10 games over .500 now. QUOTE (JoseJoseJose @ Jun 8, 2014 -> 05:26 PM) I watched the Sox Pride DVD last night...aka the 2005 highlight DVD...I miss Ozzie so much I hope this is sarcasm. Ozzie wore out his welcome then quit on the team in the middle of a pennant race.
  7. Hawk: "You're not gonna sneak up on Scioscia, he's one of the best" as he takes Wilson out in the 8th with a 4 -0 lead after giving up a walk.
  8. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jun 8, 2014 -> 05:02 PM) We could still win this game. All we got to do is hold them scoreless the rest of the way and score 5 or more runs. The Sox have pulled off wins in similar situations this year. Why not today?
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 8, 2014 -> 04:58 PM) In the past Hawk has ripped opposing managers in situations like last night through the years, yet because it is RV time to coddle and baby him. Hawk loves to tell it like it is unless it is a Sox manager. Hawk is symbolic of what is wrong with this organization.
  10. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 8, 2014 -> 04:50 PM) Hawk and Stone defending RV about last night company line 101. Abreu does not hit this offense does not score. Hawk is entitled to his opinion but so are those who disagree with Robin's decision to leave Sale in after he lost the shutout last night. The problem with Hawk is he declares Ventura's decision was "absolutely certainly the right decision" then mocks someone who disagrees with the decision "after the fact" as Hawk puts it.
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 8, 2014 -> 10:06 AM) My problem with Ventura is that I never feel he's in charge of anything. Part of that may be because he was never in charge of anything before the Sox named him manager of their big league club with absolutely no previous coaching experience at any level and no expressed desire to ever be a coach or a manager. He was a good third baseman though.
  12. Bottom line is the Sox best defensive player committed an error (with a five run lead) and their best pitcher couldn't pitch over it. As for the decision to leave Sale in, he already gave up three hits and a run in that inning and had just given up two hits in the previous inning. That at least makes it legitimate for fans to question whether or not it was the right decision to leave him in.
