  1. Melky had a big AB Saturday when he hit that pitch way out of the strike zone and again tonight with the game winner. Let's hope this is the turning point of the season.
  2. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 10:04 PM) That's awesome. It sure is!
  3. Abreu Granny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Melky drives in a huge run on a terrible pitch.
  5. Age catching up with Tori. A few years ago he would have stolen that one.
  6. Nice to have a real closer, even if the shadows helped.
  7. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 02:34 PM) SotoBomb. Good call.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 04:45 PM) He's just awful, I really see no way he survives this season. Jerry Reinsdorf.
  9. 80-82 QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 03:40 PM) 80-82. I don't believe in Avisail Garcia, I don't believe in the back end of the rotation, and I have to predict that a couple guys get hurt just because usually a couple guys get hurt. If those things happen, the team has some real holes. I agree with this. Sox have holes at Catcher, 2B, 3B, RF, and back of rotation (as well as a below average manager). Bullpens are always iffy. I wouldn't be shocked if things go right and they make the playoffs, but as they stand right now 80 wins seems about right.
  10. Rest in peace, Minnie. May God bless his family and friends.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 02:55 PM) Ha, they've now acquired 2 of my least favorite Cubs players of the last decade (Shark/Soto) At least they didn't sign Michael Barrett.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 05:26 PM) Melky Cabrera is a hole? I thought he was penciled in at LF.
  13. As the team stands now, 80 - 82. Although much improved, they still have holes at 2B, RF, 3B, C, and 4th SP. If they can improve at two or three of those positions they can be a serious contender. Edit: An upgrade at manager would have helped as well, but that's not happening.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 03:44 PM) You are ful of s*** for saying Robin needs to show his players he has their backs when the umpires are asking a pitcher to remove a rubberband. You are full of s*** for saying Robin should just sit there while two umpires approach his pitcher.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 03:35 PM) Still, you are full of s***. Robin's players know he has their backs. I'm full of s*** for expressing an opinion? All I did was posted a comment that Robin as the manager should have come out of the dugout as soon as the home plate ump motioned to the other ump and they both approached his pitcher. I just figure almost any manager would want to come out and see what's going on. I don't appreciate your personal attack calling me full of s***. I thought you were better than that.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 03:22 PM) I went out for lunch Friday and when I came back to my office, I realized they screwed up my order. I am pretty certain Robin had something to do with it. Again, all I blamed Robin for was not going out to find out what was going on and to give his pitcher a little support and show his players he's into the game and has their backs. I didn't blame him nor imply he was to blame for any of the pitches Beli threw. If you inferred that I did you are mistaken. Some here seem to think Robin never does anything less than perfectly.
  17. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 03:20 PM) it's definitely robin's fault Yes it was entirely Robin's fault that he didn't come out of the dugout until Beli motioned to Herm/Robin. Unless of course someone in the dugout was holding Robin back but they didn't show that on TV. Not blaming Belisario's subsequent wildness on Robin but I am saying that Robin should not have just sat on his ass passively in the dugout while two umps stopped the game and approached his pitcher without immediately going out there to find out WTF is happening and give his player a little moral support.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 03:17 PM) I'm not sure anyone knew what the hell was going on. That's exactly why Robin should have come out of the dugout - to find out what the hell was going on. Instead he lets two umpires approach his pitcher without being there to have his back.
  19. Robin should have been out of that dugout the moment the ump approached the mound to talk to Belisario. At least show your players you have their backs and show the fans that you are interested in the game.
  20. QUOTE (spiderman @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 06:56 PM) count me in too for any PM's QUOTE (sayitaintso @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 07:13 PM) I'd like to get in on this as well, count me in since everyone's doing it! QUOTE (rcpweiner @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 08:04 PM) Me too, por favor! QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 10:14 PM) I'm in as well, if that is okay. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 10:26 PM) Count me in Rock Me too.
