  1. This team did not pan out as they planned. So at this point, I say just put all your sluggers in the lineup and let them bang away and have some fun. Vaughn 1B; Moncada 2B; Burger 3B; Anderson SS; Benintendi LF; Robert CF; Eloy/Sheets RF; Grandal/Zavala C; Sheets/Eloy DH. Late innings you can move Moncada back over to 3B, insert Andrus at 2B and Hasely/Marisnik in RF for defensive substitutions if need be. Maybe this team could be something like the '77 Southside Hit Men.
  2. Gotta keep Burger in that lineup.
  3. 1B Vaughn 2B Moncada 3B Burger SS Anderson LF Benintendi CF Robert RF Eloy/Sheets C Grandal DH Sheets/Eloy Let 'em bang away. Late game defensive substitutions: Moncada to 3B, Andrus in at 2B and Hasely replaces Eloy/Sheets in RF.
  4. Just start Burger at 3B and start Moncada at 2B and try to have a 2023 version of the South side Hit Men. Late in the game they can move Moncada back to 3B and put Andrus in at 2B for defense.
  5. That's a great story Lip. Thanks for sharing. And thanks for helping to organize that event honoring him.
  6. Dick Allen was my baseball hero. He will forever be my favorite baseball player of all time.
  7. That just further shows what an ass Reinsdorf is.
  8. Yes, but comparing Tim Anderson to Frank Thomas is ridiculous. TA isn't nearly in the same class as Frank Thomas or Dick Allen - or Jackie Robinson for that matter.
  9. No one should mention Tim Anderson and the great Jackie Robinson in the same breath, least of all Tim Anderson. Unless of course it is to mock him for proclaiming himself the next Jackie Robinson for how he thinks he is going to "change the game."
  10. MLB "changed the game" on Tim when they ditched the juiced ball.
  11. Tim should be one of the first ones to go.
  12. They were the best. And even greater when they were joined in the booth by the great Satchel Paige or the great Dizzy Dean. It was fun being a Sox fan back then.
  13. I loved Jimmy. He knew more about baseball than everyone in this current White Sox organization combined. He was a very good outfield instructor as well as a great and entertaining broadcaster.
  14. How long before Moncada fouls a ball off his foot, lies on the ground writhing in pain for ten minutes, and gets carried off the field to find he is day to day with a mild bruise? The Sox will probably play shorthanded for at least a week before they IL Grandal because of his hamstring.
  15. Kenny had his faults, but at least he really seemed to care and would never just sit back and tolerate such lackluster performance.
  16. He's really inspiring youngsters to play baseball with his stellar performance on the field as well as being a role model with his off field behavior.
  17. We're in the middle of the window when their young championship core led by Tim "Jackie" Anderson were supposed to lead the White Sox to multiple championships. I'm so glad they didn't waste money on Bryce Harper and Manny Machado to make sure they had enough to pay these young stars like Anderson, Moncada, Eloy etc.
  18. So are we supposed to be cheering the tank or are we supposed to be waiting for them to flip the switch?
