Kenny & Ozzie at it again
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 03:45 PM) He's actually on record (The Club) saying he'd pay as much money as possible to land Pujols. Could that be considerd tampering? Anyway, it sure would turn the outlook of this team around in a hurry.

Kenny & Ozzie at it again
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 11:48 AM) This might add a little fuel to the fire, Ozzie just posted a link to the Sun-Times article about him wanting an extension. The Sox are on an eight game losing streak and the jerk says he wants an extension. Talk about bad timing. Either Ozzie thinks he's entitled to the Sox manager job for life or he's intentionally trying to force the issue so they will let him quit and release him from his contract.

Kenny & Ozzie at it again
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 01:09 PM) Konerko who? You know, Paul Konerko - the Sox future DH and backup 1B to Albert Pujols - that Paul Konerko. Seriously, I never heard that Pujols said wherever Larussa goes he goes. And although I was never a big Tony Larussa fan, if that quote from Pujols is true I hope the Sox hire Larussa early next month.

Sox V. A's - Buehrle V. Cahill
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 21, 2010 -> 09:21 PM) Viciedo and Flowers better be playing against a LHP tomorrow. Viciedo anyway.

Sox vs. A's
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2010 -> 09:38 PM) Based on our luck this year, it will be a detached bicep, or something weird like that. Actually, he grabbed his tricep, not his bicep. Stone said the initial report is "shoulder tightness."

The key question for the rest of the year- Viciedo or Morel at third?
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 09:05 AM) There's a reason the Sox moved Viciedo off 3B this year. He may make an appearance occassionally over there, but he will never be considered a regular there. He's probably a DH although I have heard many with the White Sox think he will eventually be a LF or RF. I just hope he can hit like Carlos Lee. That's who I compare him to. El Caballo was a 3B at one time, doesn't take many walks, can hit it a mile and weight is always a concern. I wish/hope Viciedo could play RF. He has a cannon for an arm and if only he could be average at covering RF he would be a huge upgrade over what they have been putting in RF over the past couple of seasons. But since he's only been playing 3B/1B in the minors even though he doesn't look very good at those positions, maybe they see him as even more of a butcher in the OF--like Josh Fields/Pablo Ozuna/Adam Dunn bad out there. But if he could play an average RF, it would solve a lot of Sox problems going into next season. With young cheap players like Morel at 3B, Beckham at 2B and Viciedo in RF the Sox would have more money available to bring back Paulie and AJ. If Quentin can DH and get back to a semblance of his 2008 production, the Sox would be set up pretty well. And Ozzie can still have his rotating DH going with Viciedo backing up Paulie at 1B and Q going to RF when Paulie needs to DH.

September Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 10:42 AM) Today is Faust fest, a celebration of one of the best White Sox performers for 40 years. The NY Times has an article about her, of course, our big mouthed manager had something classless to say: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/18/sports/b...18organist.html Ozzie's act was fun for the first couple of years too, but now it has gotten old. What a jerk.

And that's a White Sox season!
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 09:01 AM) Blame that on our team being a bunch of p*****s and not retaliating. I do.

Tigers @ White Sox, The U, 7:10PM
It would be hilarious if the Sox won all the rest of their games and edged out the Twins for first place.

PK Hit in Face and Subsequent Events
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 04:39 PM) I'm pretty sure if we were still in the race it would have been handled differently. At this point, who cares? How so? You mean Mark wouldn't have retaliated at all after Paulie got hit in the face and then the ump would have issued a warning to both teams after Pierre got drilled later?

And that's a White Sox season!
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 02:58 PM) You couldn't sound like more of a sore loser. This team beats us on a consistent basis and runs this division. They are better than us, and they are run better from top to bottom. So? No doubt they are the better team this year. Show me where I ever denied that. But I refuse to slobber all over them for repeatedly drilling the Sox' hitters, high fiving their thug after his thuggish behavior cost them a run and an out when he got a cheap shot into AJ's face to send the Sox a message, and especially after hitting Paulie in the face and then hitting Pierre later in the game even after warnings were issued. A sore loser would whine about losing or not making the playoffs because of something they falsely perceived as unfair -- you know, like the Twins fans and many in their organization did in 2008. I readily admit they beat the Sox and earned the 2010 AL Central title. But I'm not going to fawn all over them on a White Sox message board or root for them in the playoffs. I hope the Yankees/Rays sweep 'em.

PK Hit in Face and Subsequent Events
Mark said he was "told" to do it. It was stupid for him to say it. He should have just said nothing, or said, "It slipped", or said, "I didn't mean to hit Cuddeyer just as Pavano didn't mean to hit Konerko." But you never admit you did it on purpose. The Sox under Ozzie still haven't learned how to handle this type of thing.

And that's a White Sox season!
QUOTE (Butter Parque @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 12:05 AM) We are mentally beaten, and that's a credit to the twins. They kick our ass, take our names and probably laugh at us in the locker room afterward. It's up to the sox to change that. It's not a credit to the Twins, it's a fault of the Sox. But as a Sox fan, I'm not about to congratulate a team that intentionally drills our hitters, high fives their thug outfielder for taking a cheap shot at our catcher, then laughs at us in the locker room. Especially after they just hit our MVP in the face. I hope they get crushed in the playoffs again -- just like they always do, the losers.

And that's a White Sox season!
QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 11:47 PM) This. Not to mention it seems they hustle on groundball outs (I remember Span, I think it was Span was benched for not running out a grounder, something we see most of our players not doing) they don't beat themselves with errors too often, they don't run into outs and know the situation on when to bunt and when not to bunt, etc.. etc.. They play the game of baseball beautifully. Yet they perform worse than the Cubs do in the playoffs.... It's a little peculiar to me that a team that repeatedly drilled Sox hitters throughout the season, took a cheap shot at the Sox' catcher and has beaten the Sox numerous times over the years on some of the luckiest breaks and flukiest plays imagineable is being drooled over on a White Sox message board on the same night they just intentionally hit our MVP in the face with a pitch. It's bad enough our TV announcer and our manager can't stop fawning over them whenever the Sox are about to face them. Maybe that's why the Sox never beat them -- they're mentally beaten before they begin every series against them.

And that's a White Sox season!
QUOTE (Butter Parque @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 11:10 PM) Congrats to a model organization Bulls***. They take cheap shots, throw at batters intentionally, beat s***ty teams on luck and then lose in the first round in the playoffs. If you want to admire a team like that and congratulate them that's fine --but why don't you do it on a Twins board?
-
And that's a White Sox season!
f*** the Twins and their bulls*** brand of baseball. Little dinky hits, balls that hit bases, bulls*** calls by umps that save their asses, balls that hit off rafters in domes, taking cheap shots at opposing players, etc. I hope the Yankees kick their asses and sweep them in the first round of the playoffs. And screw Ozzie for never seeing to it that his team even the score against Young. And after what happened to Paulie tonight and later Pierre getting hit despite the warning, Young and Mauer should have had to spend the night in the hospital.

Would you rather
Just replace Teahen and Kotsay on the this roster with a quality 3B & RFer and they would be fine.

Twins vs Sox 7:10 Start---Liriano vs Danks
QUOTE (bobryansson @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 10:08 PM) And is Danks the newer Big-game Javier Vasquez? As I asked earlier, how many big games did he not pitch well? Danks deserved to lose tonight.

And that's a White Sox Winner.
QUOTE (stretchstretch @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 05:23 PM) MN has miracle finishes in the last two weeks of the season, not the Sox, season's dead..... That's the spirit!
-
And that's a White Sox Winner.
This game foreshadows the rest of this season. Just as the Sox were down by six going into thier first AB and came all the way back to win this game, so the Sox, being six games behind the Twins going into their final series will come all the way back to win the division.

Chicago White Sox. Kansas City Royals. 6:05 PM CST
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) That would be a worst case scenario. I suppose Castro and Flowers could handle the position about as well as Jamie Burke and Ben Davis did.
