  1. Terrero better not take any playing time from Sweeney or Ozuna. He better be used solely as an emergency CFer.
  2. Maybe KW will do something bold and wild & crazy: Sign Rickey Henderson!
  3. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 10:49 PM) Fields would seem to be the logical choice, but a growing part of me envisions Terrero or Owens being called up. Fields would seem to me to be a very illogical choice. He's clearly not ready, off to a bad start at the plate, and has been said to be looking "lazy" in the field. Why start his arbitration clock running so soon, especially just to sit on the bench for two weeks?
  4. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 03:57 PM) Good. Maybe Owens? Bring up that Brazilian kid as a pinch runner.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 04:19 PM) You won't get more up-to-date news than this. Broadway left his start today in Charlotte after two pitches due to injury. No word on what it is yet. Wonderful
  6. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 04:16 PM) Sweeney. Terrero's not coming up. He hasn't taken a walk, and is hitting like crap in Charlotte. He's more useless than Anderson. You'll see either Fields or Perez in the starting lineup at DH on Tuesday against Washburn, with Ozuna in LF. I don't want to see Fields up yet unless they have traded Crede for something really good.
  7. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 04:09 PM) Why would they pick today to decide to send him down. Becuase with Sweeney here, the Sox have someone other than Mack who can backup CF. That's the only reason Brian was on the roster anyway.
  8. Today's Lineup Erstad, CF; Mack, RF; PK, 1B; AJ, C; Dye, DH; Crede, 3B; Cintron, 2B; Uribe, SS; Sweeney, LF. Buehrle pitching
  9. QUOTE(Disco72 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 10:29 AM) The Score just reported that Sweeney is in the starting lineup today. I hope he goes four for four with a couple of RBI's. All line drives in the gap.
  10. Well if this is true then I hope Ozzie starts him in LF everyday for the next 15 games or so while Mack and Ozuna platoon at DH. If they're going to start the arbitration clock, they better not have him sitting on the bench stunting his development. I really don't think he's ready, but might as well use him and see. Maybe he could at least take Anderson's spot when Thome gets back. Let's just hope he doesn't get on Ozzie's bad side.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 10:05 PM) I've been told the organization isn't that high on him. Probably not tall enough.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 09:57 PM) Haeger's looked horrible so far this year. I'd have no problem giving him up. If we trade Anderson though, KW will f***ed up the offseason two seasons ago. I still think Haeger is going to be very successful.
  13. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 09:50 PM) Charles Haeger and Anderson for Ryan Church Not Haeger. Someone else and Anderson for Church--yes.
  14. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 09:51 PM) Why make all these moves? Thome is going to be out maybe 15 games more or less. It's not the end of the world and no need to shuffle an entire roster. Settle down folks! The Sox need a competent backup for the oft-injured Thome even when he gets back. They've been a bat short all along anyway.
  15. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 09:26 PM) *Waiting for the first Rowand post* I hope KW gets Rowand.
  16. QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 01:19 AM) Geoff Jenkins/ Kevin Mench Pat Burrell?
  17. For right now, go with Pablo Ozuna as the full time DH and let Andy Gonzalez take Pablo's spot on the bench. If a competent major league bat becomes available for a reasonable price, grab him.
  18. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 07:36 PM) Here's hoping Williams doesn't do anything too drastic. Thome is hurt quite often because of his violent swing. Last year it was his hand/wrist. This year it's his side. In the past it has been his back. He's also had hamstring problems. KW would do well to get another quality bat in here to back up Thome and also play some outfield.
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 02:02 PM) It would be impossible to fully replace Thome's offensive production but something would need to be done. At this point in the season it's not widely known who is available exactly but I'm sure if Thome did hit the DL we'd hear some names thrown out there in the press. Raul Ibanez?
  20. How fast can KW get Aaron Rowand back here?
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 09:21 PM) Bonds homered Who cares?
  22. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 09:18 PM) Nice pitch Boooooone. Yes it was.
