As I said, you can't generalize either group. It's not correct to say that the wealthier are smarter but is also not correct to say that poor people are just as smart. There are some of each in both groups.

Some are, some aren't when it comes to intelligence (that was the topic). Some people are just naturally smarter than others. Some have the drive to succeed, some don't. That's the beauty of being different. Generalizing either group is incorrect.

I don't necessarily agree. Every year there are lower payroll teams and every year there are plenty of big payroll teams that don't get in the playoffs and win. Does it help yes, i don't think it is fundamental though.

I agree. I just think the bullpens are undervalued especially when looking only at such stats as WAR or ERA. It hard to evaluate statistically when the sample sizes are so small with the number of batters they face.

I'm not sure of the exact dollar amount. That wasn't proposed by me. However, I know the hospital received extra money for COVID deaths. This was all earlier in the Fall when I was doing the pro bono at the hospital because they needed extra help. Now they are laying off people due to the medicare 9% cuts coming in the new year.

The issue is that RP are not valued in advanced metrics. Very few are better than replacement value by WAR because it is a counting stat so this tends to be undervalued.

In general I agree with their stance on not paying the high priced long term deals for pitchers. They rarely work out due to injury or ineffectiveness. With the budget limitations the FO has to work with, a contract of this type could cripple this team. For example I was one of the only posters to push for Keuchal as opposed to Wheeler. Not that Keuchal was or is better simply because of the years allocated to the contract. This is why the development and trading for pitchers is so important for this team.

At this point the value of the deal is irrelevant. They need to use whatever budget they have to maximize winning.

Not sure how close you read it but the CDC information is specifically discussing vaccines being researched in the US. I don't think the approved one falls under that category.
