  1. I love that movie. Young Cameron Diaz looking good.
  2. I agree. they need to find someway to keep teams from "rebuilding" and throwing the season.
  3. It's less expensive than any other professional major league sport, at least in Chicago.
  4. I think part of the reason they are doing this is exactly what you said, they are trying to get more teams in the playoffs this eliminate some of the incentive to have so many teams in rebuilding mode.
  5. Probably true. But they treat they players like kings there and it's a great time for a single guy.
  6. All sports are businesses and are all about making more money. MLB is just behind the curve and exploiting fans for more playoff teams were they can charge even more money.
  7. The Dodgers think so highly of pederson that they acquired a 25 year old prospect to replace him? Sorry, a cheap shot but I couldn't resist.
  8. If anything go back to the earlier model of only AL and NL, no central or anything else and the top 7 from each play for the WS.
  9. I wonder if they agree to some sort of playoff revenue sharing among all teams if they would go for it. Because you're right they wont decrease the number of regular season games unless there is some financial incentive.
  10. If you also start brawls in your workplace, ignore your boss and tell everyone a at your workplace that you're lazy and aren't going to work very hard then, yes. That's his point.
  11. Thank you for agreeing with me. Chomping is more the act of eating. Champing is more referred to grinding or chewing which is what the horse does at the bit. "often incorrectly written as chomping."
  12. This is true. Doesn't mean he will be happy about it and it won't improve his disposition. The first time Mazara has an O'fer he may start chirping in the dugout. Might be more headaches than the team needs
  13. I think this is part of the point. Is a guy who is difficult person in and out of the clubhouse going to sit on the bench and not cause issues? Is he going to be happy that he doesn't get to play and won't be able to get another large contract while sitting on the bench? Is it worth having a guy like that on the bench?
  14. This would never happen because every owner knows their team has done similar things, though not to this extent. The owners arent going to "fire" another owner because they might be next.
  15. I would disagree. He gave them the largest possible fine, the worst punishment ever for the draft and the GM and the manager was fired. This is the worst punishment ever for cheating. He couldn't really go to much further than that without problems with the owners who are his "bosses."
  16. His dedication to the game and recovery has been brought by more than one person. Doesnt bide well for his return to the game. Got to wonder if the Sox did their due diligence on him or if the 2 injuries and time away just made him realize it wasnt going to happen.
  17. The post had nothing to do with the trade because it's not happening. It was meant to show why the white Sox cant force a team to take a certain player because the poster said why wouldnt madrigal be in the trade.
  18. Hypothetically speaking maybe the Rockies wouldnt want madrigal and wanted pitching. One team cant just say, take this guy he's blocked in our system.
  19. Time to buy the retirement home in Colorado!
  20. It's a good thing they signed Keuchal and Gio, since they are trading Cease. ?
  21. Correct. The eccentric loading is the only way to increase the tensile strength of the tendon. Any exercise will do it as long as you focus on that phase, ideally its eccentric only but that really makes people sore.
  22. Yes. Keep the flexibility is the primary one. Also eccentric power as the tear of any tendon or muscle mostly happen during that phase. So do a feel raise on one leg and slowly lower down. The lower phase increases the tensile strength of the Achilles tendon.
  23. No doubt. He has an uphill battle. I've had a previous discussion on here, that I've never seen a person his age who ruptured it twice. I have no idea how the recovery will go, especially in light of the added problems from last summer. I'm going outside to use the snowblower, too old to shovel.
