I don't think they will. They are in a win now mode and need playmakers not just more lower quality bodies.

MLB issues threat to MiLB
It will be good for all of the MiLB. With fewer teams and fewer players, each player will get an improved experience with more focus coaching, nutrition and training as well as pay.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
This is also really going to hurt universities. I was in a boring budget meeting when this came out. The meeting went silent then got really interesting. It's going to cost states tens of millions.

Pandemic Realignment: Sox in the Cactus League West
Dang. Good luck and hope things get better. One of our nurses who worked in the COVID ward had to have a fever for 4 days before they tested her. She tested negative twice . Then after she had a fever for 9 days she finally tested positive. It's weird. You are right any baseball in any form would be welcome.

Pandemic Realignment: Sox in the Cactus League West
Been busy getting all online courses designed due to college closing and working in the hospital because they needed help . I know many are out of work but my work has doubled. Haven't had much time. Busier than when I was traveling with teams.

ESPN: MLB looking at May start, all games in AZ, several changes
How about everyone who is watching the game gets an avatar and you can have them cheer or boo or go crazy. Make it real interactive

ESPN: MLB looking at May start, all games in AZ, several changes
If it that much of an issue go to a simulated screen of previous crowds. Simulate the crowd noise for the appropriate play. No one will know the difference, just like the alleged moonlanding. ?

Practice and be ready in case someone gets injured. Not ideal but they'll have players ready to go.

RIP Ed Farmer
Agreed. This is what I liked about them. Unique. Not run of the mill boring professionals. It was fun. I for one will greatly miss him and that unique booth. Godspeed.

2020 MLB Draft Thread
The issue is will the team give them the scholarships to stay. The money from their scholarships has already been allocated to a new athlete for next year. Will the school increase the scholarship money by that same amount or will the athletes have to pay? Also there is rumors going around it may only apply to seniors so the juniors may return but return as seniors. Many athletes may not be able to afford to stay in school.

Sale to have TJS
His right arm probably throws harder than your dominant hand. Hopefully not as accurate though. ?

Offseason 2019-2020 MLB Catch All Thread
Technically, union shouldn't be looking out for them. At best these players wont be union members for 2 years and most will never be union members for any length of time.

Sox option Kopech
Just trying to get that year of service back. Make sure he is not on the MLB roster when the season starts, whenever that is.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
Some of the money will be used to help against lawsuits. There are already investors filing lawsuits against companies for the "poor decisions" to not have enough insurance for income loss due to a pandemic.

Noah Syndergaard to undergo TJS
Here is research showing that velocity is the primary variable in UCL injuries regardless of type of pitch. Pitchers are particularly vulnerable to injury the season after they have a peak in velocity. UCLand velo.pdf

Noah Syndergaard to undergo TJS
Let's hope they learned something and dont keep trying to throw the ball through a wall everytime. That's just too much stress on the arm.

Jake Burger Thread
Thanks for posting. It's a great story. It's great insight into injury recovery not being just physical. Although this is an extremely interesting story from a physical perspective as well. I can honestly say that in 30 years of working with athletes, I have never seen this unique scenario.

Chris Sale is getting Tommy John
Pretty interesting that every year he averages over 95, the next year his average drops into the 93 range. So he peaks one year and drops off precipitously the next. Not coincidentally peak average 2018, poor performance and injury 2019.
