What is the advantage to having players sign earlier? Right now it continues to create conversation and interest in the league during the off season. I don't see why the league would want to curtail that.

What is the best possible product? This is determined by the individual fan, not for you to generalize. Is it a world series every year? Not possible for all teams. Is it to go to the playoffs every year? A few teams do that. Is it a winning record every year? Very possible but is that the stuck in mediocrity that people hate. Is it to go to the ballpark and enjoy baseball?

I agree. Sox fans always return when they win. The key will be is how low it goes when they don't win.

I think this is the case for both players. They really want to play for a specific team and are trying to work them for better contract, but they each have good offers from the White Sox.

I think this year has more to do with players who have publicly expressed interest in a specific team. I don't think that will be the case next year. Although I think arenado. has a chance to resign before FA.

With his documented desire to play for the Cubs, it will all depend on what discount he would offer to the Cubs. Similar to the Machado discount for the Yankmees.

They were never given the chance before, so it remains to be seen. Regardless of that., here is where the Sox are. You have two choices, wait 2 years to see if their prospects pan out or fire them all and give the next FO 4 years to see if their plan works. They may as well see how this works out before moving to the next plan.

You haven't given the rebuild a chance. It's been 2 years. I agree if the rebuild doesn't work they need to clean house. But you need to give a total rebuild a chance to succeed. Changing it in mid process wont help. They need to see if they prospects will indeed work. If not it's going to be another 5 years of the same process with another FO. Build with just FA is not a winning formula.

It's not crazy. You are looking at very few of the players coming through the system. If those 3 players you mentioned are the only ones, sure. But add Collins, Robert, Rutherford, Hansen, Madrgal, Burdi, Basaabe, Dunning am9 g others and they have a system that is capable of sustained production.
