  1. I thought there was a percentage of the contract that had to be approved by the league.
  2. Is that even legal by baseball rules?
  3. Adam Timmerman is from my little hometown in Iowa.
  4. Does this mean the opposite? Does he even believe the Yankmees or out?
  5. 3-4 really doesn't matter. The bears played 4 down in nickel or dime over 50% of the time this year (I think the number was close to 60% but I don't remember exactly.)
  6. True but I can see the discussion of how often a p,ayer of this caliber comes along. They could sign him and trade Torres for pitching.
  7. Could be just a discussion on where best to use their resources.
  8. Tatis hadn't even picked up a professional at bat yet. He wasn't even an org guy.
  9. That is an option. And I would agree.
  10. This isn't new with superstar players. The increasing focus on individual advanced stats makes it a little more apparent. Frank Thomas insisted on playing 1B instead of DH for comfort and HOF reasons. His focus on the box score the next day was legendary in the clubhouse and baseball. Superstars will want to be treated like superstars in general.
  11. I would agree depending on the return. I don't think Moncada would really have much value yet. I wonder what the market would be for Anderson given his contract control.
  12. I get that, but just because those are the things you care about doesn't make the things others care about less justified. All of those things are part if his make up and personality. If the Sox are going to sign him, pay him that type of money and possibly reshuffle their infield, all factors need to be evaluated.
  13. No doubt. However as they said at that, having too many good players is a good problem.
  14. Good call. His bat is more impressive there. It would be interesting to see how WAR projects him at each position as voters are starting to shift their focus for stats.
  15. Interesting post of calling out people criticizing him for not being like them, yet you go on to criticize him in your way. Would your criticism not be part of the bad personality variety? He is definitely a player that has strengths and weaknesses.
  16. Agreed. But they may not have a choice if they want Manny. Maybe it would change after a year. This situation was another reason I would prefer Harper. Since the beginning I said Anerson would need to move to CF if they acquired Machado.
  17. Not that simple, if they want to sign him.
  18. Basketball mostly, I believe.
  19. He is confident he could. No one will know until he tries it. He is really good at going down the line for fly balls.
  20. They'll have the 2019 season to figure it out. I don't think 1B would be an option for either of them. Their athleticism and range should be wasted there. OF would be the better option.
  21. Another factor is that there are 2 viable options. If there were only 1 option that teams were fighting over it would have escalated much faster and probably been done by now. Although if it was just the Boras client, you never know.
  22. U I think this has been expected from the beginning of the process.
  23. He did write the book and is employed by the station as he said so he knows the principal people involved.
  24. Watching the end of Gravity. As Sandra Bullock just said "either going to survive in one piece with a great story or burn up, either way it's been one helluva ride."
  25. But its collusion if he states it directly, no?
