  1. Never said it was good baseball. But I go to college and HS as well so I'm used to the level of play. I'm working games this weekend actually.
  2. I heard that too. Too bad, he is a good one. I think he's ben in the business nearly 40 if I remember right. Enjoy retirement!
  3. I have my season tickets so I will be there for many of them. Cuban sandwiches and empierogies will be the main attractions besides summer baseball at the park.
  4. Rightfully so. It's not going to be a good year for wins. Hopefully we see prospect progress.
  5. They are trying to find the inefficiency with the weird arm angle guys. If everyone else gets strikeouts with straight fastball maybe others can get strikeouts with weird arm angles.
  6. Exactly. That's why everyone needs to accept that the pitchers are going to need a year off somewhere for surgery. Along with this comes shorter starting pitcher outings and increase importance of bullpen pitchers. Bullpen pitchers are no longer just failed starters. Just starters who can't hold their velocity for more than 2-3 innings. Pallette as a sox example. Pitching depth is more important than ever.
  7. Watch the flame throwers in the system and expect most to go down the a UCL injury. We've seen a few already. I know Taylor had his in college but Smith had his in high school so he had it but it was a while ago.
  8. You are correct. This is why teams now expect UCL reconstruction for pitchers. Velocity and max effort is also tied to UCL injuries. If a pitcher hasn't had a UCL reconstruction odds are they will so build that into their development.
  9. Personally excited to see Schultz, Smith, Teel and Quero against the rockies.
  10. Still think it will be Amaya until Montgomery is ready for defense alone.
  11. Yeah, after the first 8bweeks I would guess there will be turnover as the prospects arrive.
  12. I think it more the quality of players. We know that they still aren't planning to be good and it shows. I would like to see how many games they had 16 opportunities with RISP. I bet it wasn't many that offense was awful. Not that I'm expecting it to much better this year until they bring up the young catchers.
  13. Don't know what you are talking about. I'm impressed as hell that got enough runners on to have that many opportunities. Last year they probably didn't get enough runners on to create the opportunities.
  14. However the person we are discussing agrees.
  15. I agree. That's why people can make a living talking about the Sox.
  16. Last there was good traffic without that.
  17. Awful lot of traffic on here to discuss anything bad team.
  18. Agreed, play it out and bring up the prospects when ready. This year is all about developing the prospects. Most of the people on the roster aren't relevant.
  19. That is actually your best reason yet. We do disagree. We both have reasons for our views. Some are just better than others. 😀
  20. Handwaving? Does that mean saying history people? Nice attacking the opinion instead of talking about the issues. Good distraction. Historcally, how often does the team have a payroll not in the top half of the league? That leaves a lot of room to get many players to build a good team.
  21. I disagree. It shows they do spend when they think the are ready to.
  22. That's what I mean. His position for the MLB. Don't want him taking those defensive struggles to the plate if he isn't at least decent out there.
  23. I don't disagree in concept but after last year they are going to try to win at least some. Building a pitching staff if all things are relatively equal will usually lend itself to adding the variety. Im not saying I necessarily agree but that's what teams usually do.
  24. I still disagree. You can say history if FA signings but didn't they set the record for a contract with Albert Belle? Besides I'm not talking about a massive signing filling in with good players when they have budget space and a good pitching staff. I think the budget space is the key.
