Not Earth-shattering. They have to get longer looks at their 5 top catchers and a bunch of bullpen guys. I'd like to see Joey Gallo in the next round of cuts.

Is anyone 100% convinced he's going to get through the season without any issues...?  Based on past/recent history with Sox pitching injuries?

I mean you just said that’s four like Thorpe already had the surgery

Thorpe is actually throwing and working towards a return.

There goes some more of that AA/AAA depth.

that's four with Bush and Thorpe

Wants trade turning into a complete disaster of selling high on a closer

Drew Thorpe is fine and pitching. Blake Larson, Berroa, Bush and Carela all having TJS. Pitchers break. They need a lot of them.

Exactly. There will probably be a few more the next several months.

Oh TJS in of itself is not unusual, but four legit pitching prospects all going down in spring is not very common.  Not suggesting a conspiracy by any means, but this is definitely some really bad luck.

Didn’t they initially say it was a grade 1 strain?

Could be. The issue is why did the muscle strain happen. Was is an overuse injury just due to the muscle work. Or was it being overused due to the ligament laxity and it was trying to hold the joint together.

Either way it's a muscle strain but different etiologies.

Thorpe had a bone spur removed.  Not as horrible as the TJ’s that all of our other prospects are getting.

Not necessarily true. While the surgery and rehab is longer in the short term for the UCL reconstruction, bone spurs develop due to excessive stress and can show up again. Not likely but possible.
