  1. Is it a good thing that a New York team joins the bidding. ?
  2. So of course 2023 is what he will be going forward, not 2022 or 2021.
  3. There are a couple of similarities in the situation. 1. Is it the passing offense or that the coaching staff realizes the limitations of the qbs. If it's the passing offense you are assuming the coaches are idiots which is a possibility. 2. Are these qbs players who the teams win because of or can win with. If the Bears have a chance to get a QB that they can win because of, it's tempting. 3. The style of these two leads to a greater chance of injury. Do teams want to take that chance of a lucky season without injury in order to win the super bowl.?
  4. The worst result and it very possible is that they keep Fields, trade the pick then Fields remains the same inconsistent qb next year and gets the entire coaching staff fired. Now they need to start everything over with the new coaching staff and sets back the development of all the drafted players and the team goes back to the no man's land of 8-9 records.
  5. I would be surprised if he does this. I think he realizes that he only gets limited shots at this type of qb without trading massive assets to get him
  6. This is not the way a GM should think. A fan yes, not the GM.
  7. I hope Sunday doesn't impact the decision. If they haven't decided after nearly 40 starts, one shouldn't matter. The offers for the pick and Fields should have a greater bearing.
  8. I don't think so. I think the bears take a QB at 1.
  9. The bears tried that with Nagy. Didn't work so well.
  10. Of course Levine mentions the cubs. Their big spending spree after getting counsel hasn't materialized yet.
  11. That would be part of the negotiations. This discussion will end in one of 2 ways. 1. The trade happens with Baltimore and their fans will say they gave up too much and the Sox fans will say they didn't get enough. 2. The trade happens with another team and the Baltimore fans will say they were glad they didn't trade for him because it was too much and the Sox fans will say Getz screwed up because he didn't get enough.
  12. Or these are negotiations where they are still talking?
  13. Since it's all hypothetical at this point, no one is right or wrong. But no one will admit it.
  14. I was referring more to the circular discussions.
  15. It does make you appreciate that Soxtalk isn't a singularity. Other boards are too.
  16. Time to move on. If you aren't sure after nearly 40 starts, you have your answer.
  17. A classic seafood seasoning. Can't go wrong with that.
  18. I don't think that was ever a comment. Bad is one thing, being good is another.
  19. Teams with good pitching tend to do well in the playoffs?
  20. That's why I think teams need to focus on pitching. It is more of a in known the hitting for various reasons.
  21. Yes, a good return will speed up the process and help but need is the wrong word to use.
  22. True. Looking only at a single year doesn't really tell much.
  23. Agreed that of course you need both and you build the roster overall as best you can. But with the higher bust rate and injury rate for pitchers, teams need more shots at the good ones.
  24. Yes. That is only this offseason. Building a team is more than just one trade.
