  1. I saw them at the aragon brawlroom. It was either 1980 or 1981.
  2. The talking heads were phenomenal live. The other one off the top of my head that was drastically better live was the Ramones. They played everything at 3 times the normal speed. It was something like 25 songs in 40 minutes the last time I saw the. Throw in Blondie and there's nothing better than the old CBGBs lineup.
  3. Its always possible. But if you are talking likelihood with injuries it's a different story.
  4. That's what it soulds like from previous comments.
  5. Do you really think they will lose 110? Are they that much worse than last year?
  6. Any injury is never a good sign. But to go from never a good sign to we don't know if he will pitch this year is a pretty big leap.
  7. They would need to build him up for back to backs. However with his injury history you never know.
  8. OK. So you are going with once in how many years and trades and hanging your hat on that? Plus a shoulder injury is much different than an elbow. I'm not saying he won't have other issues even possible surgery as elbow issues tend to escalate. However it rarely progresses from inflammation to not pitching. There are steps in the middle.
  9. So once in how many decades and you are going with that? And I believe he did pitch. No doctors aren't infallible hence it's called the practice of medicine. I'll wager he pitches this year.
  10. Don't you think Seattle checked the medicals prior to agreeing to the trade?
  11. I disagree that we know Getz doesn't value power. He doesn't value it right now with a barren team and a poor minor league system. This is just his first year of a significant change in the FO. I think we can all agree this was a bad defensive team and acquiring defense fist players is cheaper and a quicker way to start retoolong the team. As was stated above. This is year one. Let's see what his targets are as he progresses.
  12. Actually it seems like a move where they talked about Cease with some of these names but couldn't get a deal done with bigger names so they settle on the lesser names deal.
  13. I highly doubt they were all signed for that specific reason. It's more about who is gone than who is new.
  14. All of this means that the character guys were not character guys. The clubhouse environment is by the players not the organization as a whole. Most managers have usially allow the veterans to run it. Especially, in today's game. Very few managers try to control the clubhouse and get a terrible rep if they do. The managers will talk to the veterans about what they want done but not to the whole clubhouse.
  15. However they can get motivated. Lord knows some of the others should take note.
  16. If you read stories from around the league, nearly all of them are calling the off season underwhelming. I wonder if they all look at what the dodgers can spend and think the only way they can compete is through player development. Or if they all are refusing to play the game with Boras as he Co trolls the best players left. Interesting off season.
  17. No reason to open the books until the union agrees to a salary cap.
  18. Depends on the demographic. People with kids and us old people, no. Younger ones without kids, yes.
  19. I didn't hear the actual discussion just heard from other about it being a huge discussion. Parkins is just an ass who likes controversy for its own to raise ratings and truly believes he knows more than people in the industry.
  20. Just more sensationalism to get viewers/listeners. Apparently his friend Parkins (?) on a station here helped him with it as he declared it could be the worst thing ever for the bears as they would have the chance at a franchise qb and then be denied that chance.
  21. Could be true but if Bellinger fall off the cliff with production it won't last long and could set the team back years with an awful deal. The Bulls are at least medicore a bad Bellinger doesn't make the Sox mediocre, even a good one probably doesn't
  22. Maybe, I would not take the chance thatast year was just a good contract year and with a long term deal he would revert to the player from the last couple of years with the dodgers. That's a long multi-year commitment from a team that has strict budget levels.
  23. Word gets around. It's still not a good way to do it. Should an organization State publicly that a player was out too late and hungover so he couldn't play? Should they say he is an ass and wouldn't listen to coaches. Should they say he is sleeping with his teammates significant other and isn't a good teammate? These are all things other teams may want to know before they sign him. These are all on par with saying the culture is bad or team is bad so don't play for them.
  24. That's why I said pretty well. If you have player that won't play, they at at got some decent players with merriman and rivers out of the deal. Williams has the sway and f he sits out a year, I believe. He's made enough with the NIL money to get by.
