  1. 616 PA may be pushing it though.i don't doubt he has some back issues. I think he'll play more but I don't know if it will be that many. That nearly a full season with no time off.
  2. Every season season is enjoyable so it doesn't really matter. Some are just more than others.
  3. I know we disagree on why to attend a ballgame. I can enjoy the game without having a loss ruin it. I have worked many professional and Olympic sports and traveled with them. There probably isn't a sport that I haven't worked with at some level. Nothing beats baseball. The game of baseball is a wonderful thing. Not many things beat a day at the ballpark, especially now that I don't have to work them.

Agreed I was thinking the same thing.

There us an issue with playing platoon baseball, the players can never improve. He has a grand total of 102 plate appearances in the MLB. There is a possibility he improves if given some experience.
  6. Sure, but why pay more than you have to? As stated before, I don't blame JR for asking it's god business.i blame the idiot politicians for agreeing.
  7. They won a World Series since the new stadium opened. It hasn't been 43 years if futility. Maybe only 41.
  8. I disagree. I think we'll see a better brand of baseball. They won't win much but it will be better to watch.

Many times it takes true failure to learn and change. Hopefully he has.
  10. I don't think it has anything to do with any of that. I think both clubs want new a stadium and want that public money. While I never believe anything the media says on face value, both clubs are publicly trying to work these deals.it will be interesting to see who wins.
  11. No doubt. I think most of us were like that in our younger days.
  12. You can follow it but not live and die with it. All about enjoying the game. I do think this team will be more enjoyable to watch. They won't win much but it will be a more sound team with less egregious mistakes. They just don't have the talent level.
  13. Contract year has a way of helping players miss less time due to any injury.
  14. They both do,that's the issue. They are competing to get it by the deadline at the end of the year .
  15. There was a report that to stay in Chicago they wanted the money from the hotel tax. The reason this is all happening now is that the hotel tax or the issuance of new bonds for it needs to be completed by the end of this year otherwise it's eliminated when GRF is paid. One of the radio stations reported it.
  16. People on the board were always screaming about TLR giving everyone too much rest. There is a fine line between the concepts.
  17. Understandable. But until all the numbers are finalized you don't know what to like, hate, defend or anything. From what it understand they are still competing with the bears for public money so nothing is set in stone including if the project will even develop.
  18. I don't disagree. But until it's official no one with any authority is going to comment. There is just advantage to it.
  19. That is ambitious. It will be fun to watch if it happens. Improbable though.
  20. The key there is if they come up with it through reasonable means. These are just leaked numbers nothing official and there are people all over the place. They can't explain how the numbers were reasonably or unreasonably reached until the numbers are finalized. Nothing has been officially announced so the numbers out there are speculation. Once the final numbers are out there then you can reasonably decided if they should go to Nashville. But until then it's speculation.
  21. Agreed but disclosing information prior to the final deal won't help either. I agree once everything is finalized. If it is.
  22. Why would they report what's going on in the middle of negotiations? I don't see how it benefits anyone to reveal the numbers until something is finalized. If the current prospective contributions of the Sox are lower than than the final deal everyone here will have added info to crucify the evil billionaire. Not something the Sox want.
  23. You can't compare your company to a sports franchise. The public persona and impact are totally different. Just like trying to compare the problems between players or coworkers is different when it happens in front of the media. Unless you routinely have the media asking you questions and broadcasting your reposnses. I get you don't want this but that is just not a valid comparison. Plus having something built is a vacant blight of an area adds a whole different dimension to this specific scenario. That is a huge benefit here. Currently the city gets nothing from this area. Even if they make nothing in net revenue, it's a win because of the elimination of the huge negative area.
