  1. We can fix the one leg being a different length. There should be something to do about his soft tissue injuries. You're right where there always seems to be that kind of person who is injury prone, however we should be able to prevent most of it. For position players that is, for pitchers it's atotally different story.
  2. The question always is why? His physiology is the same as yours or anyone else, unless he has some kind of connective tissue disease such as scleroderma that we don't know about.
  3. It's really an outdated concept that stretching/flexibility is the way to prevent muscle injuries. While it can help stretching has been shown to increase flexibility but not necessarily decrease injuries. The most effective way to decrease injuries is strengthening, specifically eccentric strengthening. Here is a good metanalysis looking at over 2600 research articles. It's about hamstring injuries but it applies to all muscles. Overall it's the offseason conditioning that really matters not the day to day activity. The dynamic warmups are key for the daily preparation as opposed to the static stretching. They obviously aren't doing something right. The American Journal of Sports Medicine 2023;51(7):1927–1942 DOI: 10.1177/03635465221083998 It's too big to attach. But if you do a search with the DOI number you should be able to see the article.
  4. Excellent article. Thanks!
  5. With the most expensive piece missing a good portion of the year so far undergoing chemo treatment.
  6. Imagine the difference if Hendriks hadn't gotten sick.
  7. Too bad baseball is a great game to watch and enjoy. But to each his own.
  8. If you watched that game and took that from it, you can't enjoy baseball.
  9. That was one of the weirdest games I've seen in 50 years of going to games, including the ones I've worked. It was hilarious.
  10. Sorry, haven't run into too many of these. Orthopedic injuries are my specialty. I'll leave this one to the other experts in this board.
  11. He could that guy. However, until he has sufficient at bat's at the MLB we won't know. Plenty of guys hit in the MiLB and not in the MLB. Plenty of guys have struggled for a couple of months or even their first year and have had good careers. You can't say anything about his MLB potential after 90 at bat's.
  12. Very selfish. You can't pull the ball there.
  13. We did not disclose much of anything when it came to injuries. I suppose it may have changed some with partnerships with sports books but I know part of it isn't how they report injuries.
  14. The primary issue is the personal trainers. Baseball has a unique skill set that not all of them will truly understand. Being fit in general does not necessarily correlate to preventing injuries throughout a 6 month competitive season with few days off.
  15. Do they need the players permission? Personally, if the reason to disclose or not disclose injury information is for gambling, I would tell them as little as possible. I'm going to pull the old guy card, "that's what we used to do in the old days"
  16. I really don't think they should share medical issues with the general public. It's probably against many HIPAA regulations as well.
  17. Do you know that Anderson isn't feeling some soreness from playing after his return? There are many reasons that we will never know for why players aren't in the lineup. The manger will probably says it's a day off to take the heat off the player. But that is frequently not the case.
  18. The new ticket resale for the season ticket holders is seat geek. They switched from stub hub.
  19. They are the Cubs station. They must do what they can to trash non score products. Haugh really is stuck in the company line.
